  1. Peeve : huskies. They use their dog park as a support group, feeding off of the other dogs. They become the top barker in every single conversation , despite being obsolete and irrelevant. They terrorize the neighborhood with details that nobody asked for , and feel accomplished when they've barked their bark, because it was a bark and that's all they can do now days . No bite , no action. Good thing the other dogs have adopted a strategy of stuffing chewie treats in their ears to drown out the Neverending assault of the husky. Sadly , every once in a while , a glimpse of husky's bark is heard due to the more tolerant canines discussing husky's mundane small talk.
  2. I agree with you that it seems more common in second life forums and other social platforms similar to second life . Videogame forums ? There's some trollery , but never this level of purely depraved , desperately trying to prove themselves as relevant or superior , mentality that you find here. The absolute famished are gathered here at the watering hole which is quite frankly , almost dried up. AND ITS GLORIOUS
  3. You guys ever heard of the gaming grandma who played skyrim? Or the gaming grandpas who play forza. I'm sure there's plenty of older adults who play the Sims, which is far closer to second life . Don't be ashamed to admit it. :3
  4. Unwatchable? Lol. I didn't even notice. I'm so used to seeing horrendous avatars at this point that these guys looked pretty good in comparison to the things I see daily. I was listening more than watching anyway. If you wanna talk about putting more effort into something, we need to talk about Strawberry's interview approach. I've never been more bored in my life than when she interviews someone. It's still funny seeing Oberwolf pretend like he cares about SL tho. lol.
  5. Yes , and that is one of the main reasons that second life retains a lot of users over the competition. The customization in second life is far more in depth than most of it's competitors that just plop the assets down, as you put it . Most of the mainstream creators in second life who make their stuff no mod are just increasing the likelihood of second life losing numbers . Lol.
  6. I may have been introduced to a few bands which I still listen to now, but mostly no... I actually stopped caring what music second lifers listen to because it was 80s 99% of the time . How many times can you listen to the same sub 100 songs on 40+ years ? They'll tell you forever. Meanwhile I'm over here getting angry if I hear the same song in the same week. Pandora , Spotify and YouTube have expanded my musical tastes far more than the limited selection of 80s that second life people think never get played out . I got tired of the " crowd favorites " and would even choose " deep cuts " or lesser favorites songs just to find even more variety . There is ALWAYS good music being made , despite the crippling belief of the old timers that THEIR generations music was the only good music . You just have to actually put some effort into finding it . And by effort, I usually mean no more than getting past the first 30 seconds of new songs you hear without immediately turning it off because it wasn't the same thing you listened to for 40 years . This is in a general sense of course . .
  7. Not surprised at all that the Blueberry group would stone anything that dare suggest some freedom of customization . Wrong quote but you get it. V:
  8. Come to think of it , blueberry was one of those creators who made everything no mod, made fat packs with colors that wouldn't even completely match the bottom to the top , or the socks to the shoes , etc . For example , one of my favorite shades was in their fatpack .I bought it and then the " supposed" matching shade fat pack for the bottom. Literally didn't fully match the top. And ofcourse , there was never a shading option in any of the Huds. Blueberry was overrated . I learned to never support no mod , fat pack selling people ever again through blueberry .
  9. None. I haven't read any of this . If I can't modify the colors or change the textures of the product manually , to anything i want , just like I can if i purchase a real life item, EVEN THOUGH THAT IS AN OPTION IN SECOND LIFE, you've become a plague to me and anyone else who refuses to buy a fat pack of nasty pre made colors that can't be customized to the level that we want.
  10. There sure is. It's usually in a small planned event. I know for a fact that some of the forum users have attempted it because the person was making "jokes" about forum posts. Bombed hard. Harder than the deaf guy who was also participating.
  11. - Political correctness. - people who use the word "SLetiquette". - The future that Demolition Man predicted accurately. - The future that Anger Management's plane scene predicted accurately. Have fun being arrested for using terms that someone has chosen to delete from the official language because it hurt their feelings.
  12. I get those messages all the time and I simply ignore them at this point . Disabling all incoming messages is kinda lame , not gonna lie. Sometimes people surprise you with genuine conversation attempts that start with something based on what you said in local chat , or on your profile , etc. Ironically , i'mma refer to this function as ignorant . ( turning off all ims) . I know you acknowledged it, but still. Don't be afraid to tell people to eff off when they send messages like " wan secks?" , " yoU So PrEtTaH" , " hi", etc. I do it all the time and I'm perfectly fine >:[. " hi" is a trap and anyone who's been around long enough knows it. I ain't listening. But then again, I don't think that's a problem for someone who's just here for fun , just femaleing around , temporarily, no real intention of making any more friends , or partaking in conversations that weren't initiated by themself. Just driving a vessel to observe the world of second life in , without ever partaking in it .... heh.... °`°... wouldn't.. happen to be the case, would it ? °`°...
  13. In case you haven't noticed , half the people in second life are attempting to play it as a single player game as it is right now . - theyre always in " entertain me mode" , angry when the npcs standing around in the sims don't respond quick enough . - they're always in character , whether it's a blatantly rp character, or that one they think they can fool us into believing is their actual rl character, the 100x cooler than the real them character . Always adding more false lore to their legacy. - every time someone pulls that " there's 28,000 places to go in second life !" I am reminded that 27890 if them are private parcels where people are at home , a single dot or 2 on the map where they're changing clothes all alone , or having " fun" with their sexy alt. - standing outside of chat range , watching the social circles from afar, hoping someone messages them as they never say a word to anyone on their own, trying to let the world provide them with some kind of stimulation without ever actually taking any initiative and going for it on their own, etc. I have more , but no time for now.
  14. I help them by not giving them outdated avatars from 2003 that make it blatantly apparent that they're either a noob or someone who's completely out of touch with the concept of quality over quantity. I remind them to choose items which have tons of clothes made for them , or tons of skins made for them , or tons of customization options. Nobody wants to buy something that they can't even customize because it doesn't have anything made for it like accessories or texture modifications or clothes. I tell them like it is . If you want to look " good" you WILL have to spend money . Until you've decided whether it's worth spending money in second life or not , you can experiment with the ugly free stuff . Aside from basic technical help. That's usually what noobs ask me . " how do I look like you?" And I get so tired of hearing people mislead them into believing they can look like a lelutka, highly customized avatar with freebies . I've seen the people who brag about how they've supposedly achieved that with freebies . Let me tell you, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder quote never rang more true. And those noobs usually end up frustrated at how difficult it is to even look moderately decent with freebies to the point that they quit .. lol .
  15. Some people have been here since the great bang If that's the case ... you know ... 30,000+ posts with very little to say p:
  16. Lol @ the way people don't wanna accept that a DECADE or more is straight up oldbie. You old. I'm old. We old.
  17. I put an entire outfit of demos together before I buy the items , so this is extremely annoying. Honestly I think it's 1 of 2 things . 1 an attempt to rush the user into buying the real product so they don't have to keep re-buying the demo just to get it to work with an outfit they're making . ( the trashy and sly method) 2 a way to prevent those weirdos who will wear demos for weeks instead of buying real products ,from doing that....
