i saw this cat i cant find anywhere., its head follows you. i asked the owner (she doesnt remember where she got it) - i messaged the creator months ago (no reply - obv offline) I went and explored every inch of Kowloon walled city sim http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/kowloon/147/11/24 i see it there but cant find where to buy it. If anyone knows where i can get it id love to find out. its called "kowloon cat" here is a pic,  https://ibb.co/fq0qZnx

Did you right click on it and inspect?  It will show the creator of the cat so you can then check their profile for a store.  If it's been edited, the creator might show as owner so check all the parts that come up when you inspect.

Did you search the MP using the creator's name, under the Merchants/Stores tab?

If it was a gacha, it might not show up that way, of course. But you might also try searching by the name of the object as it appears under "Inspect Properties"?

We finally did find them.  They're from 2008 so might be hard to find anywhere.  Were gachas around back then?

Fun fact. That cat's head is actually particles, or I should say, a particle. That is why it seems like it is following your camera. I've seen that effect done before and yes, I occasionally came across that cat too, years ago. So it's been around for some time and chances are the original creator isn't active anymore.

I've gone to look, and what an interesting place. Got myself a truck to drive around in, and just love it. Not seen that cat yet though. Thanks again.

Did a bit more digging.

The creator of the cat's body is listed as WangRen Frog whose profile is completely blank, and there's no MP store associated with that creator. That said, they have two picks.

One leading to:

📌Kowloon Main Entrance

And the other to:

📌Shop 13 @ Kowloon

I'd wager that this *WAS * the location of WangRen's store in Kowloon. This space is now occupied by vendors and builds by Sandar Hax

The contents inside the cat's body are also created by WangRen Frog. The Body also contains a landmark, which points to

Owners in the area that are displaying this cat, include:
Chun Criss, Nap Mayo, and Nanaki Kohime... contacting them miiiiight  help, but based on everything I've seen from WangRen Frog's profile, and the LM inside the cat itself.. this has every indication of an item that just isn't up for sale anymore, and a store/seller that's packed up and moved on.

Dropping an IM on WangRen Frog might get you some result.. as the creator, AND obvious seller of the cat, that'd be the person to talk to.

Just as an aside, this cat has been in SL for a VERY long time.. there are mentions of it from December 2008, and February 2009 that I ran across when googling the creator's name.

There's a cat on marketplace that has the same "always looking at you" effect on the marketplace, but it's a bigger cat.

I believe both are using the "stationary particle effect" to achieve the always looking at you effect, which is pretty nifty.

I was able to make something similar to the judgy cat head (just because I was curious how to do it) but I'm crap at making mesh so no luck on a cat or kitten body.  One day I might try to make one.  Or maybe a judgy owl!

Good find auntie Misha! The original name of the original sold item is "Neo Kowloon Kitten" :)

What you found on marketplace is fantastic! 
I just bought one and it is modify,  i scaled the body to make it more kitten size 😻 and the script for the head particle is also modify so i made it smaller too. (change startSize endSize)

....it's kind of there... (Neo Kowloon Kitten in the middle)

Wow, I haven't looked at these things in ages. The two neo kowloon kittens are called "Jet" and "Yum"—Yum is the one with menacing narrow eyes—both made with the same sculpty body, textured the same but simply using different particle textures for the head, emitted from a transparent child-prim sphere to place the particle.

Weirdly (by current scripting practice anyway) they use distinct scripts that differ only to generate those different particles by name instead of by UUID, so the objects also contain those different particle textures. In any case it's generating a single continuous particle effect so the scripts can be removed or set not-running. (My inventory copy of Yum already had its script set not running.)

(Fun fact: You can make one look more distinct from the other by mirroring the sculpt to orient the tail in the opposite direction, and returning the head to the front of the mirrored body.)
