Repeating this sentiment from other topics, I hope the 2048s wind up north of the logs, with a nice waterway to their south, full of sharks, to discourage the riff raff from crossing.  Or maybe gators. Yes. Gators would be more effective.

Sharks with fricken lasers!!  (I can't remember what movie that is from lol)

Oddly,  BelliHub and BelliDemo are NOT in Bellisserria. Their estate is LH2 Community id: 56476

On the other hand, the covenant for LH2 has the following paragraph...

" *Activities and items that could be construed by Linden Lab as commercial and for profit are not permitted in the residential homes and houseboats in Bellisseria. This includes using parcels for storing delivery servers, dropboxes or working vendors. Tipping/Donations are allowed at functions held in Community Regions only."

Did you notice that DJ tipping is allowed on the LH2 estate in community regions (meaning community centers?). Also they refer to LH2 as Bellisseria.

So perhaps LH2 is added to a collection of Bellisseria estates, with a different covenant.

Update: I have discovered that the sentence " Tipping/Donations are allowed at functions held in Community Regions only." also appears in the Bellisseria covenant dated March 30, 2023. Is this a change. Have we always been able to have tip jars for DJs at community centers?

As far as I know, this is a new change to the Bellisseria rules about using tip jars. I think it's been needed for a long time and I welcome it whole-heartedly. DJs and organizers for community events should be able to be compensated for their hard work.

As far as I know, the DJs are (and have been) allowed to put out tip jars at community centers, but not at parties held at private residences.

Good. It wouldn't be fair to fill a residential region with your own friends, lagging your neighbours and possibly even hindering their ability to teleport home, when the Lindens have provided a whole bunch of regions for the express purpose of preventing that from happening.

This, of course, is not an actual problem. Residents have been hosting parties on their parcels for the past 4 years. Some even leave the party builds up permanently. Some invite people to come in Bellisseria Events. The regions can handle it.

Yeah, but anything more than a dozen people and you really should be hiring a community centre. That's literally what they're for. I just abandoned a nice Vic because the idiot next door left a full-bright giant martini glass in his garden, so... not a huge fan of permanent party builds, but I suppose people with multiple houses have difficulty actually living in all of them.

If you use Firestorm you can derender full-bright, glowing or other obnoxious items. I always derender glowing landscaping.

Sorry. Hopefully, issues like that will get more attention from governance after you file an AR. My own experience is that they don't always agree with my opinion. In a specific case, they permited soft-core porn to be continuously displayed in public view. Also, I am not a fan of Bellisseria builds that, on the outside, suggest a permanent party place. As to region performance, my houseboat in Kiva is set to 59 avatars. My mainland region runs the same server and is set at 44. I have not observed any performance problems in a while and have had peak numbers around 40. Some things in SL really are getting better :)

Excellent! The BelliHub and New User Tutorial Area is in the sandy area in the south, and the Home Demos are in BelliDemo to the North. You can get a free beer or borrow a bicycle, but they disappear; however, you can get a free N-17 sailboat near the rezzing area that you can keep and use to explore the Bellisserian waters.

The home demos are very well done, and should make it easier for residents to decide "What Bellisserian home should I choose?".

Allowing Tip Jars at Community Centres is a bit of a game changer. So how do you book an event at a Community Centre?

I recall that a particular mole schedules them but can't remember who.

Perhaps https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:New_Linden_Homes_2019 could be updated with this info.

And put the info on a sign at each community center if not already there.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to book the fairgrounds or one of the wedding venues there is a sign at the Events Center in the BelliHub that will take you to the google form for that. If you want to throw a party and DJ with your music stream you need to be invited to the Bellisseria Performers Group and put on the list of residents allowed to change the stream. Members of the group can use the calendars for each of the community regions for listing their event so people can see what is going on where.

Heya diamond.

The note card that was sent out in the performers group by Abnor Mole stated this:

Changes to the Bellisseria tipping/donations policy

"Hey everyone! We have some good news. As of March 29th 2023 we've made a change to the Linden Homes Covenant in Bellisseria.

Tipping will now be allowed for DJing or other events in Belliseria AS LONG AS it is in a Community region. This applies to all the regions like Campwich, Randelsham, Newbank, Shobu, etc, as well as the Fairgrounds, SS Galaxy and the Fantasy wedding venue in Fairstone Quarry.

You won't be able to rez a tipjar in most of those locations, but if you hold an event there you can solicit for donations or gratuities.

Tipping is still NOT allowed on resident parcels or public spaces outside of the Community regions. We don't want residents turning their residential homes into commercial clubs with tipjars or donations kiosks.

*Activities and items that could be construed by Linden Lab as commercial and for profit are not permitted in the residential homes and houseboats in Bellisseria. This includes using parcels for storing delivery servers, dropboxes or working vendors. Tipping/Donations are allowed at functions held in Community Regions only."

As for actual tip jars (these are my words, not Abnor's btw (though he did confirm this with me). Tip jars can be used at the Fairgrounds but that is simply due to the loophole that if you already have a Fairground group tag to dj or perform at an event being held there, then you have rez rights. So in that particular case, LL will allow tip jars during sets, performances/shows.

Hope this helps clear things up :)

I have run sailing events weekly for Rainbow Sails, Topless Sailors, RRMC and Tradewinds YC going back over 10 years. So What I am thinking of is for after cruise parties.

How do I get invites to the performers group?

Yes that is why previously our Bellisseria events with DJs and after parties finish outside Bellisseria rather than within it. We have locations we can use connected on mainland but it does to some extent limit the cruises we can put on.

Tipping DJ's and performers has always been a thing in Bellisseria. LL and the Moles were and are aware of this. The difference now is we can suggest it outloud. to the effect of "Hey DJ Aethelwine is playing some fantastic music, feel free to show her some love!!". Prior to this very recent change, we were not allowed to make those types of suggestions whatsoever. So the main change really, is now we can be vocal about it :)  We still can only rez tip jars though at the Fairgrounds. As Belli residents do not have rez rights at any of the community centers and understandably so.

In respect to your mention of doing some events. If/when you go forward with that. Please send me an IM inworld sometime. And I would be more than happy to give you a notice rights tag in the Bellisseria Entertainers and Events group so that you can post any IN Belli parties/events that you do. Bellisseria Events is another group that is worth joining as you can post IN Belli parties/events there as well :)

I look forward to seeing your ideas come to Belli :)

Some of our DJs have those request a song boards, from what you are saying we could only use that at the fairgrounds.

And yes Abnor gatecrashed one or our parties a few years ago to complain about the tip jar. Since then we have have used land of mine or other club members on mainland for DJ events. I might have DJ'ed from my houseboat but I have never bothered with tips, just fun playing music. But we have a rota for DJs and it has always felt bad to ask them to not take tips if their week falls on one where we plan a cruise in Bellisseria... so we stopped running them, except where destination was outside it.

Correct yes. The Fairgrounds though, is usually not booked for a standard 2 hour DJ party let's say (just an example). Though I assume it certainly could be! Most tend to book it for events rather than a singuilar DJ party. Be it a full day event, a weekend, a week or longer in some cases. And during said events, many of the event organizers DO invite DJ's or singers to come and entertain the community.

My partner and I currently have an event running there for the month of April - HamRaiders. And over the course of the month - there are about 13 DJ parties sprinkled throughout our booked time there.

Most regular DJ parties though .. let's say a one time, 2-3 hour party. Tend to happen at the community centers. Campwich, Surf Beach etc etc. And they are fantastic open spaces that can hold quite a good crowd. Those community centers also have the public dj radio's that Abnor mentioned earlier here. So once he adds you to that particular list you can then simply click the radio, paste in your stream and boom you are good to go!

I am not sure if people NEED to be a Belli resident specifically to use those radio's though.  @Abnor Mole can you shed some light on this please? :)
