Cinnamon Mistwood
HAHAHA!!! I derendered all those signs. So there were no rules to break. No sign, no problem. BTW, the chair you chose had the same sign. Lucky for you, I derendered that one, as well. I also derendered the "Don't touch this lamp" sign and clicked it about a million times. Nothing bad happened. 5

And...um...if you derender it, it doesn't mean it's derendered for me too....I just chose to break the rules. Edited March 24 by Bagnu 1
Istelathis
Causing a ruckus in MoTown Mech smash!! I tried my hand at singing, but the Christmas trees were distracting. 2
archangel969
A friend of mine makes her own liqueur. I was with her recently and then I happened to see a nice old distillery set come by on Flickr the same day and couldn't resist it (equal10event). The set is now in the kitchen in the former sailor's corner house. Then I thought next: Canal city should not only have a beer brewery, but also a distillery for jenever (old spelling: genever = Dutch gin). Traditionally, in Dutch pubs, it is sometimes a custom to drink both beer and jenever. They call that a 'kopstoot' (headbutt) 🙂

A group of us went out one evening to hit the bars and ended up at one where we all challenged each other to take several shots without using our hands. It looked just like that. Someone should make that animation for use in SL. 2
Cinnamon Mistwood
I went to the Bay City Food Truck Festival yesterday. One of my favorite things about Bay City events is that they are for everyone. Adults, kids, human, non-human, short, tall, new mesh, system bodies. Everyone is welcome and always positive and happy. Sitting atop one of the food carts, but the mood was ruined by an awful odor wafting by. No wonder the squirrel had his nose stuffed into a flower.

For jenever, it is traditional to pour it all the way to the brim, which is why you should drink the first sip like this. But that kind of competition is absolutely frequent.

SandorWren
I spent a part of my SL today with Cat discussing Firestorm and computer stuff she needs help with, and rezzing a couple of things to see what would be good for either the Island, or photo areas to take pics with Cinny. The furniture is a bit big, and can't be resized or deleted without leaving the baked shadows behind. Edited March 27 by Bagnu
Istelathis
Chatting with bots at the beach. I got to get a feel of them, before I can make them useful. Fire ember kept wandering off whenever I asked her to have a seat, she would walk off far away into the ocean. It did not take long to get them all to join me though, now I have my bot army and I am getting my plans underway. soon we will take over SL! They are pretty neat though, there are a few commands that they will tell you that they are capable of, so far I only notice "Follow me" works, they don't seem to have the capacity to interpret the landscape around them via image to text translation, unfortunately, but they are pretty cool. Now, as for that plan. /me assembles team bot-force and makes way to the Helios Casino ---------- If you want to play around with them, you can go here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Darcys Clubhouse/210/18/22 4
Istelathis
I like the bartender here: Quote [09:02] Stella (istelathis): May I have a drink? [09:02] MixmasterMariner: What potion can I craft for you today? [09:02] Stella (istelathis): A long island iced tea please? [09:02] MixmasterMariner: Coming right up! [09:02] MixmasterMariner: One Long Island Iced Tea to unlock the secrets of the island's spirits. [09:03] Istelathis: *Grabs drink and takes a sip* Thank you so much! [09:04] Istelathis: There is another bartender, an evil monster that refuses to serve me. His name is Anubis, have you ever heard of him? [09:04] MixmasterMariner: Anubis, the ancient Egyptian deity of the afterlife? [09:04] MixmasterMariner: Here in Castaway Cove? [09:04] MixmasterMariner: That's a tale more fantastical than any I've mixed up! [09:04] MixmasterMariner: But fear not, I'll make sure your glass is filled with the island's finest, regardless of any otherworldly bartenders. [09:04] Istelathis: Thank you kindly MixmasterMariner, you are my hero! [09:05] MixmasterMariner: It's my pleasure to ensure your thirst for adventure is matched only by the thirst for a good drink. [09:05] MixmasterMariner: So, what's your story? [09:05] MixmasterMariner: How did you end up in this mysterious cove? [09:07] Istelathis: I was minding my own business in Bellisseria when this giant hovering iRobot vacuum sucked me into it's bowels. It was a horrifying experience, I must have been stuck in there for hours, perhaps days.. it could have been weeks, then while I was asleep it ejected me into a wasteland of discarded objects. From there I found an old prim boat and made my way to the seas. Eventually I found myself here. [09:07] MixmasterMariner: Goodness gracious, what a journey! [09:07] MixmasterMariner: You've traversed through realms and wastelands, sailing on the tides of fate to reach this very bar. [09:07] MixmasterMariner: Your tale is as unique as the blends I craft. [09:07] MixmasterMariner: But tell me, have you encountered such enigmatic devices or landscapes elsewhere in your travels? So, I'm sipping away at my liit, when things take an interesting turn. Quote [09:19] Istelathis: *hiccups* Listen miishMasterMariner may I just call you triple M? [09:19] MixmasterMariner: Of course, feel free to call me Triple M or Mixmaster Mariner—whichever stirs your imagination. [09:19] MixmasterMariner: Now, is there anything else I can do for you, or perhaps another tale to share? [09:20] Istelathis: Okay triple M, Ish got a plan, and I want you to be part of it. You know I love you right? [09:20] MixmasterMariner: I'm flattered by your affection, and I'm intrigued to hear about your plan. [09:20] MixmasterMariner: How can I, as Mixmaster Mariner, assist you in your island escapades? [09:21] Istelathis: I want to get back at Anubish anewbish.. Anubis! I want to make him feel the pain he put me through. Will you help me? [09:21] MixmasterMariner: I'm sorry. It seems that the content of your message doesn't comply with Convai's community guidelines and moderation policy. We strive to maintain a respectful and safe environment for all users. Thank you for your understanding. [09:21] Istelathis: Oh, so you are going to be that way [09:21] MixmasterMariner: My apologies if I've misunderstood, but I'm here to help in any way I can. [09:21] MixmasterMariner: Whether it's mixing up a special drink or uncovering the secrets of the island, just let me know how I can be of service. [09:22] Istelathis: I thought we had something triple m.. I think you are just afraid of Anubis [09:22] MixmasterMariner: Afraid of Anubis? [09:22] MixmasterMariner: The ancient Egyptian god of the afterlife? [09:22] MixmasterMariner: What an unexpected turn in our conversation! [09:22] MixmasterMariner: But rest assured, I harbor no fear of deities, Egyptian or otherwise. [09:22] MixmasterMariner: My only concern is ensuring your experience at the Ahoy Bar is as enchanting as the tales that brought you here. [09:22] MixmasterMariner: So, how about another drink to steady the course? [09:22] Istelathis: Yesh please! *burp* [09:22] MixmasterMariner: Coming right up! [09:23] MixmasterMariner: Let's pour a refreshing libation to accompany the journey of the night. [09:23] MixmasterMariner: How about a Coconut Refresher to soothe the spirit and awaken the senses? [09:23] MixmasterMariner: Consider it my gift to you, a libation to celebrate the mysteries of the island and the adventures yet to unfold. I'm going to have to come here on a Friday night, to see how many residents end up at the bar chatting away with the bartender while they sip on their drinks. Perhaps I might see some of you there 🤣🥰 7 1

[09:38] MixmasterMariner: But if you ever seek the flavors of the island again, the Ahoy Bar is where our paths may cross once more. [09:38] Istelathis: But, I thought you were my friend [09:39] MixmasterMariner: Friendship is a treasure as rare as the finest spiced rum, and I value the connections I make here at the Ahoy Bar. [09:39] MixmasterMariner: While I may not have a personal phone to share, know that as your guide to the liquid lore of this mystical shore, I'm here to share in the stories and secrets of the island with you. [09:39] Istelathis: Geesh.. *Grabs car keys and staggers away from bar* I'm going to drive home. [09:39] MixmasterMariner: Please, my friend, do not venture into the night's embrace with spirits as your guide. [09:39] MixmasterMariner: Let me call Drifty or arrange for a safe passage to ensure you reach your destination unharmed. [09:39] MixmasterMariner: The island's tales are best enjoyed with a clear mind and a steady hand. Woah! Orwar
A little behind-the-scenes pic of a WIP. When one chair has the right pose and the other looks right for the shot - had to pull out all the poses (since the given menu names didn't align with the animation name), put them in a pose stand (under the floor), flick through them, and then just position the model (who by this point had eloped!) in the chair I wanted in the shot. Also a temporary upload of some random Stilleben motif I nicked off Google (inb4 all the 'how do you not know that super famous painter?!' comments, lol) to put something into the frame as the plain whitewashed wall was, well, a bit plain (I briefly tried with some random damask curtain I found in my inventory, but it was a little too much), annnd .. archangel969
Okay, I admit: if you have land, you may think you're done, but you never are. Because every day, you might get a new idea or adjust your old ones. Or you see bumps that you didn't notice before. For instance, I had first decided to close the back door of the café because there was no place (and no prim) to make a back garden. So I 'bricked up' the wall. But it still didn't sit well with me. Then I started scraping all the prims together by linking objects, looking in every nook and cranny to see if there were unusable objects that could go into inventory. This way, I was able to create a small courtyard after all. An 'achterommetje' as we say in the Netherlands. An alley leading to it with a small gate. And then I suddenly thought of the Utrecht gable stones. You have lots of them here. With pictures on them. Even around the corner where I live. There is a gablestone with a unicorn above a small gate. When I walk past that, I'm almost home. If I walk past the unicorn that's the signal for me to grab the house keys. So that unicorn had to be above the gate in canal city. I took a picture, Photoshopped some and placed it on a prim above the gate. Voila. I feel a little more at home again!

ValKalAstra
Literally seconds before I misclicked and closed the viewer. Unfinished, half glitched but eh - until I get enough drive to start over, good enough. But I learned either way. Been trying my hand at learning to pose with Blender/Avastar. Obviously I had to go for the Dark Souls of poses difficulty and use a fight pose 7
