The update at 2013-07-16 15:37 PDT was to swap the projects planned for BlueSteel and Magnum channels.

Second Life Server (main channel)

The main channel is getting the server maintenance project that was on RC Magnum last week.  This project fixes two bugs related to pathfinding.

Scheduled Tuesday 2013-07-16 05:00-12:00 PDT

Second Life RC BlueSteel

BlueSteel is on the same project as last week.  This project is another one with under-the-hood changes for experience tools.

Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-17 07:00-11:00 PDT

Second Life RC LeTigre

LeTigre is getting a new server maintenance project this week.  This project fixes some miscellaneous bugs, and also allows viewers to send requests for materials data more rapidly.

Second Life RC Magnum:

Magnum is getting the 'server side appearance project' that was on LeTigre last week.  This project changes the way in which avatars set their appearance.  More details of this project can be found here and here.  This week's update fixes a bug related to saving attachments in notecards.

We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira

Yet another week of cloudy skies as there's no Sunshine grid-wide yet. I would much rather it be right before it's released, but with all the trumpeting and fanfare over it, the delay in its being rolled is frustrating, especially after experiencing it on the LeTigre regions.

Was there something that needed tweaked or is it an intentional plodding release schedule?

Something odd is going on...Woods of Heaven has been restarted...but still runs the same server version as last week.

We were sim 9057, we are now 9711...what gives?  No one on the sim caused a restart, I have Estate Manager rights so could you check this out and explain please?:smileyfrustrated:

ETA at 9:05am PDT:

Checked out two other Main Server sims, Cerridwens Cauldron and Lost Island, both have been restarted yet are running last week's Server Version.  What is going on?

I don't think these morons know what the hell they are doing.  How many restarts do we have to go through in a damn day.  I got work to do.  Shouldn't they have a region that can be a test region before they do this?

I'm sure your calm and reasoned response will assist :-)

I happened to be working on a sim when I got the 5 minute warning for the second restart.  I am VERY happy to report that this time none of my work was undone!  I know this is as it should be but it hasn't been the case for the last several months so a big THANK YOU to Linden Labs for fixing that nasty little bug!

It may have worked this time, but I wouldn't count on that always being so. It's still best policy to save your work before a restart.

@Maestro

Could you please explain to me why the "HECK" BlueSteel and Magnum regions rollouts have been switched yesterday ?

Currently BlueSteel has the Experience which Magnum should have gotten and now I am stuck with a region that has SSB that refuses to load group chat properly and also makes a lot of avatars turn phantom.

Oh, sadface! :mansad:  I was hoping the server side stuff would be rolled out to the whole grid this week. I'm so so so looking forward to it because there's just such a difference in my SL experience with it. I've been trying to hang out mostly on LeTigre sims this past week because it's so nice!  Crossing my fingers for next week!

Thanks for the encouraging words.  The dev team will appreciate this.

Agreed, the SSA is doing a good job. But there was a bug last week affecting Le Tigre sims. They shift to Magnum, and there might be a new bug. Oh dear. But it will get sorted. I wouldn't be surprised to see Blue Steel next week, but the bug status is still at amber.

My understanding is that the constraint on how fast they can roll out is the capacity of the specialised servers: extra hardware to install rather than a software rollout. It's more than having a bug-free week in an RC that sets the timing.

It's software people who have been doing most of the talking to us customers. This whole operation, based on new hardware, is unusual. (And one or two people doing the talking I know don't have a history involving hardware deployment.)

And I know one place on a Magnum sim which is busy on a Friday, a lot of AVs and stuff happening. I shall be there as usual, dancing with my ever-loving vixen. It'll be the first time I have been somewhere busy with SSA running.

Hi Johan, BlueSteel had the experience tools project both last week and with today's update.  The SSA project was moved from LeTigre to Magnum this week in order to give it more exposure (many more regions are on Magnum).

I think many of us failed to see and re-read that you had updated the OP.

That is a very, very easy thing to miss.

I know I didn't until just now when I read this post.

Thanks for the great work on SSA - but I am now having major troubles on a LeTigre region (Engine Nine) - my workshop is here and I can't get attachments or system clothes to come off. I think I have them off, relog and they are back on again. Thought I could solve it by tp'ing to my home which is on a regular channel - but I can't tp directly. I have to tp somewhere else, then to my home.

So after I got everyone squared away and am wearing the outfit I want to work on - I can't take it off - (shirt and pants) - they only way to get the clothes off is to do a double tp to my home, wait til they come off (almost immediately) and then back to LeTigre

I think Engine Nine needs a restart.

I can reproduce the same.

I am unable to login directly to Engone Nine and if I teleport there, remove some attachments and relog, all my attachments I removed  are back on again.
