  1. Yeah , noticed these a while back on the map too. They're puzzling 'cos if you look at the size of them relative to the houseboats and traditional houses they look about half the size in width and possible a bit shorter in length too. To get new homes which are smaller than those we currently have would seem to go backwards a bit. Unless you hold with the theory of them being trailers I guess. The spacing is also odd, suggesting there isn't much square metereage on the plot. That would also be going backwards and wouldn't make residents happy. So I'm wondering if they perhaps aren't homes but something else (maybe houses are in the trees as lots of trees shown in the SL16 set up, ) or maybe even the homes are underground and were're just seeing a small part that sticking overground (entrance parts). More speculation for the moles to chuckle about😀
  2. One of the things I'm not fond of with any of the new styles is the lack of windows compared to the Meadowbrook homes - I love tall windows and lots of views:) I couldn't find any faux windows on the MP that I liked so I ended up making a couple of my own: In the shot below it's the one on the right - I put a blind over it to make it a bit more nicer. Of course, the perspective is not correct when looked at from different positions in the room (2nd pic), but with the blind it's not so bad. Makes me happy anyway:). I added a window too in the top wall of my boat (Wallower, I added the wall) so I've got a nice little sea view when I walk past rather than just the view of the side of the houseboat behind...
  3. Give up? Well it depends how desperate you are lol. I'd say keep trying, cos you just never know. As mentioned by others already there are usually a few that are abandoned each day. I managed to get a houseboat only last week, when I thought it would happen! I nearly gave up and gave it one last try and bingo I got there. But don't forget also there are new themes coming soon. Yeah I do understand it's frustrating waiting, but only 10 days to go to SL16 so they should be coming soon, and you might like the new themes even better than the current one. In the meantime I'd say to anyone, take a look around at the existing theme(s) and styles and use the time to perhaps think about which styles might suit you best, how you want to decorate, check inventory, marketplace, stores inworld, and other residents styles for ideas or inspiration). Explore the neighbourhoods too (are there locations you'll not want to stay at/other ones you want to look out for etc. ?), see what community activities are being held by residents. That's what I did - I spent a little time looking at the traditional houses to see if I really wanted one and decided they weren't for me. If I hadn't I might have just taken one when it came up and missed out on getting a houseboat, which I like much more. And since then I've also looked around at other locations and plots and thought about if I want to abandon and risk trying for a new location on the next release or not. So doing some 'prep' can help pass that time waiting and is fun too! But then again I'm picky lol.
  4. Hands down here too, but not because I don't like the idea. I like the concept of getting a gift every month, but agree the LI is always too high, so personally I never use them. Maybe LL could partner with a different vendor each month to offer something a bit better - there are some great low prim mesh and non-mesh items by creators out there. This would satisfy premium members in terms of LI and be good promotion for the vendor (I guess LL would have to have some criteria the vendor has to meet first), and so a win-win for LL:)
  5. This place is quite surreal (love it!) ; rocks at Abiatti - there's a single chair perched on one of the rocks - you can see me in the pic for scale. And underwater there are some rocks and grass too. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Abiatti/82/151/36
  6. I'm calling this one Rutherford dock....it's tucked away off the side of a road. Would be lovely with the sun positioned setting out ahead. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rutherford/47/207/22
  7. Another cute one - the beach experience inland!:) http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Wavecrest/8/99/23
  8. Just found this gorgeous little spot by a lake in Valleyside - with a number of cute tables and chairs. Really pretty little place. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Valleyside/131/183/32
  9. Agreed. I think it's great that they wanted to have a bit more of a varied landscape but I also agree, it wouldn't be too bad to mirror some regions or even Bellisaria as you suggest in order to facilitate a quicker rollout, I really don't think people would mind too much. Maybe it depends on what the future themes are, I'm guessing they'll need another continent to have enough homes, and maybe those themes don't fit wit the Bellisseria design. Yes, I would hazard a guess that it's hurting sign ups a bit , but who knows maybe the percentage who are sticking with premium after signing up because they want the new homes is greater than those dropping it...we'll never know:) The limited time offer on the fees certainly helps.
  10. I think this is probably true. Everyone will eventually be able to have a new theme home (however not necessarily the one they would prefer - but that was true of the first gen too). I get that LL wanted to get homes out to people as quick as possible rather than wait 2 years or something to have them all ready at once...there are advantages to that, but at the same time I totally understand the frustration people are feeling over not being able to get one for what could be quite a while - they are seeing something nice and new and want to experience that too, especially with the positive hype generated on the forum, yet they can't but can see others being able to, so it generates a feeling of unfairness. But I'm not sure there is a perfect way LL could have done this. If they had waited 2 years and did one big roll out people would have criticised them for taking so long. They are not able to implement a system of waiting lists, so that option is out. Rolling out in stages makes those who missed out unhappy. Maybe not put up the premium till all the houses were rolled out? Well for whatever reason they felt they didn't want to (or couldn't) do that (I see some benefit to LL for not doing that). My own personal opinion is that I would rather they had rolled out all the themes at once, to avoid this land grab scenario and feeling of missing out some members are feeling. That to me would have been the fairest system. All the homes available, all members able to get one. I would be okay with waiting for that, and them having raised the premium in the meantime, considering how many years there has been no premium hike.
  11. Great information, thank you!! I will definately do these tours.
  12. Just to confirm, with Evangeline and another resident confirming it (thank you!) (OMG I'm so sorry I forgot your name) there are two houseboats being rezzed. Using Firestorm we were able to click and de-render, which showed a boat still remaining. Mystery solved, issue yet to be resolved:)
  13. Not sure what you mean by derendering Evangeline, could you explain a bit more please? I've tried rezzing out new boats and resseting the life preserver a number of times, but didn't clear the issue. When the houseboat de-rezzes, I'm not seeing one still there before the new one pops up. If you could take a look inworld that would so be appreciated!
  14. It does seem like that's what is happening. If I click on one of the doors I can see the LI in Edit. I can then click on the duplicate door and that also shows the same LI so it looks like it's rezzing two somehow, and that makes a lot of sense in terms of what I'm seeing with the decor textures (saw a glitch again yesterday, two textures overlaid). I actually saw the texture issue on someone else's boat too when walking around another location (can't remember where now). Where would I best message a mole to take a look - inworld IM or here? I did submit a support ticket but not sure how long it will take before they respond. Something that probably needs to be looked at before the next batch are released I would think. Hopefully some moles will catch this post @Quartz Mole @Abnor Mole @Patch Linden Thanks for mentioning you also have the same issues @EnchantrixBrighton and @Naughty Nootan
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, but I haven't been to any parties, so thank goodness no griefing. Yeah, SL testing me a bit ... I keep having to open and close 2 doors in one spot lol.
  16. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and replies. I've tried everything I can think of but no joy yet. Even after logging in and out and trying different computers, resetting the rezzer, trying different styles, the issue is still there, so I guess I'll have to wait for a response from LL.
  17. Oh thanks Sylvia I'll go try that:) Edit: I tried resetting about 3 times and tried the different styles too, but the issue is still there. Very strange...I'll submit a support ticket.
  18. I so agree with this!! The placement for some of the houseboats could be so much better, i.e. that the view from inside was outwards to the water rather than to for example houseboats behind you. I wish we could rotate the boats:( I'm a bit baffled why they've been placed like that, unless there is some really sensible LL reason we just haven't figured out...
  19. I've rezzed the different styles a few times in the hope of resetting the houseboats but seem to be coming up with the same issue - there seems to be a strange duplication bug or something. I noticed that when I go to open a door, a door opens, but then there is another one right behind it I need to open as well to get in. I've attached a screenshot showing this on the Evening Star 32x32. You can see there are two sets of sliding doors (one white, which is the colour I changed the decor to) and one black. I'm also seeing the same thing with the blinds i.e. when touching an individual blind to uncover a window the white blind disappears and looks rolloed up as expected but there's a tan coloured one behind it (and you can see same issue on the upstairs blinds). On one of the windows I had to click it multiple times for the tan one to disappear. The same thing happened on the first rez of this boat with the colour of the interior walls (the default colour was showing through the white I had set) but that's stopped now that I re-rezzed it, but the above issues are still occurring. Has anyone come across this issue and knows of a fix (re-rezzing is not seeming to fix it all)? If not I'll file a bug report.
  20. If you click on it >Edit, you can see the object name - it's a place holder for a community spot. It's been quite interesting to see the working stages of the moles to implement the new homes.
  21. yeah, just nice to see it in progress at last:)
  22. Been looking out hoping new houseboat plots would get placed (since we've only seen the moles working on the traditional houses the past few days), and pleased to see they have started today...yay...
  23. Thank you, what you've done outside is lovely! I really like it. I think it's a perfect setting being on the water which always gives a tranquil feeling. I look forward to being able to see the inside too.
