  1. I thought I was in the group but realized I wasn't somehow and couldn't find the group.
  2. Hello, does anyone know what's happened to 60L weekends? I was a bit of a fan of checking this out each week. It was great not just for buying stuff but I really liked it for finding out about vendors I hadn't seen before. But there's been no notification for a couple of weeks and I can't find any info anywhere.
  3. Thanks Claireschen. Seems like PP is pretty useless then!
  4. I've posted this in another thread because I hadn't seen this one yet, but I updated place page today and am also not getting any search results for my place (which has been listed in Search for years). I did a search for Parks and got 7 results (only one vaguely relevant to parks) and my place wasn't in it. What's going on?
  5. I've just updated my page. I have a park but if I do a PP search for 'parks' it doesn't show up in returned results. How do I get it to show? I have my land set to Show Place in Search.
  6. Well, No. I don't expect people to go visit my park just because I made a post. I only put the link in case anyone wants to have a helpful look to give any feedback in case there are any thoughts maybe on why I don't get much traffic. I'm hoping some people may reply sincerely to give some advice as to how I can promote my park now and in the future. Boy some people are soooo cynical.
  7. I have a park area in SL which over the years I've really enjoyed building. I've got a gallery, cafe area, and lots of pretty hangout areas. Thing is, I'd really like to see more people coming to visit it and enjoy the space, rather than just me, but am not sure what to do to achieve that. I'm not really good at self promotion:( Does anyone have any good ideas (yes, I've tried classified ads - is too expensive if you want to be seen at the top of the list)? http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ultron/13/251/71 if you are interested in checking it out and sending your feedback (would be appreciated).
  8. Hello all, if you are looking for a beautiful place to visit, relax or hang out in stop by Arcadia Park. I've recently extended the park to include a new lush woodland area which has many places to sit and hangout with your friends or loved ones, or just by yourself to explore or have some alone time:) There's also the cafe which has been revamped and other areas to explore include the art gallery, small woodland and meditation area. Everyone is welcome, and I hope you enjoy it. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ultron/14/251/71 Copy and paste that into your SL viewer bar for a quick and easy way to get there.
  9. Thanks very much for your reply Prokofy and offer of script - I'll take you up on that:) Could you send it to me inworld? Or can I find it somewhere online? Thanks again.
  10. Thanks for your feedback on land prices. I can't believe how much land prices have dropped over the years. Anyhow, I'm still interested to know from anyone if it's worth renting rather than selling.
  11. Hello all, I've got some land which I wanted to sell, but I was thinking it might actually be better to just rent it out. However I'm not too sure whether I'm right in that or not: is there more demand for buying land or for renting these days in SL? I was thinking I could rent it for a bit less than someone would pay on tiers for it, so it mght be good for those wanting land without premium membership. Any thoughts?
  12. I'm selling two plots of 512 which are actually next to each other, so they could be bought and joined to make a larger 1024 if you wanted. They are on the mainland, it's grassland in a quiet area, so great for private dwellings or if you plan on making an enclosed environment like shops etc. Even if you don't the views are nice because there are some plots of abandoned land nearby. But it's a good neighbourhood, I've been there for some years (I still have other land nearby). I'm selling as I don't use it enough and would like to reduce my land tiers. I'll consider reducing the price for serious buyers. Just send me a notecard inworld (please don't IM as my IMs often get capped, so I might not see it). Price for each: L$6,500 (or will consider lower if buying both plots together). Locations: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fears%20Trebled/248/209/79/ http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fears%20Trebled/235/212/75/
  13. Hi, when I first started in SL as a premium member we could own 512sq m of land without paying tier on it (before the days of the linden homes for premium members). Does that still apply or does the Linden home we get count now as that 512 of land, or do we have the linden home and can still have 512 of land without paying tier on it?
  14. I'm using the SL viewer (usually use Firestorm but it's been crashing too much recently) and want to save some outfits. I go to Edit Appearance, click on the 'Wearing' tab then click Save As and name the outfit. The outfit name then appears in the My Outfits tab, but no clothes are actually listed - it just says 'There are no items in this outfit. Also when I look at the My Outfits folder in my inventory it is empty. Does anyone know what to do? I've tried looking at other threads but haven't seen anything helpful.
  15. Thanks to everyone who replied. It's good to have an understanding of why someone might take time to reply - it might seem obvious but not everyone has the same life, so people might have different reasons. I do think however that vendors, as some already do, should state what kind of time frame to expect a response, or if they are on holiday etc. - I'm talking about product or purchase issues rather than general enquiries. It helps customers be patient, and not just think that a vendor doesn't care if they haven't responded as quickly as they expect:)
  16. This is a general question to vendors out there - how long do you think a vendor should take to reply to purchase issues from customers . I have an issue right now and contacted a vendor some days ago (both by IM and notecard) and haven't heard a thing. In my view if I was a vendor I would want to get back to a customer quickly (and some vendors I've dealt with have done that and provided very good service). I personally just don't understand if they don't as it can affect customer loyalty and future sales. But do you think that's just impatience? What would your reasons be for not doing so?
  17. :smileylol: So very true...best post I've read for ages:) If SL was really exactly like RL it would have never taken off......
  18. Drake1 Nightfire wrote: Slink feet are 675.. not thousands.. Really? I could have sworn they were a whole bunch more...must be my old age!....:matte-motes-bashful-cute: off to check them out again....(although it's still annoying that some of the best shoes I've seen require Slink....)
  19. Mesh hands and feet and then the body, that's all Slink. You can't look at any shoes now without them being Slink compatible. I'm constantly complaining about this to friends in-world. I've seen some gorgeous shoes at various places and it's really annoying to find they are only for slink feet. I don't want to pay thousands of lindens just for some feet, so I can buy nice shoes. I hope it doesn't become the norm for all shoemakers. If slink feet were half the price they are I might consider it, I do get that the maker may be trying to make a living but I'm not prepared to pay that kind of money in SL for feet (or a mesh body for that matter). Just a two minute rant:)
  20. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I have already looked at Builder's Brewery and a number of other texture vendors but none of them have this kind of texture I want - they either do solid walls or just windows (with only a small bit of wall surrounding it, not enough). I'll try Twisted Thorn and the MP.
  21. Hi, does anyone know of a vendor in SL who makes building textures which have a window build in. I have some Atoll shack textures in my inventory which have this i.e. the texture is like wooden walls with windows on them and when applied the window parts are actually transparent so it's like you can look outside. The style is a bit grungy though, and I'd like the same type of thing but a bit newer looking. Any ideas anyone?
  22. There are a number of road networks in Second Life you can travel and use vehicles on - they have rez areas at points along them so you can rez a vehicle from your inventory to use, and the routes are quite interesting if you like exploring. There's information here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Second_Life_Road_Network_Directory. Check out my blog post for an example of route 9 (which I still haven't finished exploring!) http://evangelinearcadia.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/road-tripping-second-life-routes-route-9.html. Along route 9 is an explorer's center which has maps , I think there are centers elswhere too (and somewhere online, but I can't find the link at the moment).
  23. Is this the official annual SL Burning Man/Life event? It doesn't seem as big as it has been in past years and the build themes are a bit different (more like the 'real life' one with lots of tents).
  24. My main passtime is exploring. I've been in SL for about 8 years and over that time the main things I've done/do now have been - had an art gallery, revamped a number of times, and currently in the process of being revamped again - had a card shop (closed years ago). - go clothes shopping - visit art galleries or events - attend classes on various things from building to learning software - attend group discussions (not so much anymore) - take photos of places I visit but exploring has to be the most enjoyable for me. I love it. There is never an end to the new builds and creativity in SL. There's always something new to see and enjoy. I have so many photos I keep meaning to put on my blog of places I see but just never get round to it...
