  1. It's not just the live performers. DJs fit into this group as well. The other half DJs and he would say the same thing. Me? I'm having to make do with a 50L stipend to try to relaunch my puny SL business for the time being. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to have a store on the MP by the end of summer. Maybe. If I'm lucky. If, a big word for such tiny letters.
  2. MP already has these choices: General General and Moderate General, Moderate and Adult Adult Land designations are these choices: General Moderate Adult It's all already covered. Why clog up the King Kong code with more unnecessary coding? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
  3. One thing you both should do if you haven't. Hide your groups and check your pick tab landmarks! Especially any land groups where either (or both) of you are renting and those places you like to hang out. Don't make it easy to be tracked down!
  4. But only in the short term. Rarely does any company today think in the long term. It's all about the quarter, not the annual.
  5. The wording was "any designer", not "the designer". Do any creators really want to have to verify every single time they upload? I seriously doubt it. That's doubling the workload for both the creators and LL. Be ready for premium pricing to go sky high to cover that cost for LL.
  6. She wants attention. Don't give it to her. Eventually she will find someone else to hassle. Like her current when he becomes her next ex.
  7. How are new designers going to be able to verify if they haven't "designed" anything yet? Are you going to make them submit examples of their work? Who is going to take time out of their busy work schedule to be judge, jury and executioner of those decisions? Sounds like a lot of extra unnecessary hoops to jump through just be able to upload a snapshot or texture.
  8. Well... you could try to recreate the dream in SL and do some still shots but I wasn't being serious.
  9. Pics or it didn't happen! I've been waiting a long time to be able to say that!
  10. FinCEN considers Linden dollars as convertible centralized virtual currency. The guidelines define virtual currency as one that either has value in real currency or one that can be used to buy goods and services. Additionally, a centralized virtual currency is one that has a central repository (LindEx?). LL doesn't want to consider the Linden Dollar as a virtual currency. LL’s terms of service refer to Linden Dollar as a transferable license. According to LL, when a player “sells” Lindens, that player transfers a license, not currency. Yet, the LL ToS didn't have any influence on FinCEN’s decision to classify Linden Dollar as virtual currency. FinCEN goes by the approach “If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is a duck.” And Lindens sure do “quack” like one. Lindens are a virtual currency because it has value in real currency and people buy good and services with it, even if those goods and services aren't tangible. https://www.fincen.gov/sites/default/files/shared/FIN-2013-G001.pdf
  11. We just got done with a major battle to keep our groups and now you want to take our measly 50L stipend? Sure. Just as soon as they take premium stipend (300Ls or more vs 50Ls) and land allowances (1024m vs zero) away from premiums. That would really simplify things wouldn't it.
  12. Yes. I'm one of those old basics and it has nothing to do with Charter membership. You just have to log in for a certain time each week or you don't get the 50Ls. That's all there is to it.
  13. They won't because then we would be able to see quite plainly that they aren't always completely honest with their customers and really piss a lot of people off to the point of actually losing enough customers to really hurt their bottom line.
  14. There's no reason the number in the main would change other than someone "new" joining or someone "old" leaving for the most part.* I don't think the concern is with the main groups so much as the number of groups needed in addition to the main. Thinking about it, if they were to separate land groups out from all the rest of the different "types" in some manner, then it would be possible to cut the number of groups needed to 2. The main and the land (since not all players rent homes the group would likely be smaller in number). Hmmm. The more I think about this the more I think you are right that having more roles available would alleviate a good deal of the load. But without some numbers to play with, it's hard to tell. *Characters come and go but there are times when the player is the same.
  15. That would go a long way towards cutting down on the number of groups needed as well, wouldn't it? RP sims could reduce the number of groups they are using if more roles were provided and so could a lot of other venues. That would certainly help lighten the server load. The flip side though is it may mean larger groups. And if I'm understanding the issue correctly, the problems lie with the larger groups. I'm not clear on just how that problem is supposed to "work" but putting a limit on the number of people that can be in a group would defeat the purpose of reducing the number of groups needed. I wonder what the average number of groups needed is for RPs, music venues, and whatever else is out there that needs multiple groups to make up for the lack of roles available. Last RPs I was involved in required a rough average of 3-5 each usually consisting of (at least) the main group, "faction/guild" group, land group and for those who were mods, the mod group. The music venues we had and the ones I've worked at were about the same in number. There has to be a way to break the circle. Where there is a will, there is a way.
  16. This is why the only group chat I leave open all the time (after it pops up on its own) is the FS support group. It lets me know I'm not quite so alone inworld. Like leaving the tv or radio on at low volume for "company". Just hearing voices can be comforting. And I do still help out a bit from time to time.
  17. I've been doing that since they gave us the ability to hide our gruops. LOL
  18. Thank you very much, all of you at LL. I can live with the offline cap being reduced. Things are looking up! And you guys do seem to be getting better at listening. Maybe go for a 24 hour reduction in the forum blowup time and have it run for 24 hours next time instead of 48.
  19. Yes and no, because you are getting something more (even if it's not something you personally will use) for the increase so it's not quite the same thing. We all know this but I thought it bore mentioning.
  20. This is exactly what I have been doing all these years. Before Equinox sold Fruit Islands, I rented a homestead that was costing me $125 USD per month. I was there for over 2 years. Other half had his own homestead for a while that he paid for. I'd do it again too if I could afford it. I can't. But I still do what I can by renting from a land owner. And I still have to be able to buy Ls to do that. In whatever amounts I can when ever possible be it dribs and drabs or big chunks. Because I do care about SL. If I didn't, I would not be here. I have the feeling most basic accounts do the same.
  21. Outside the weather is frightful. And whether or not you believe it, horses have withers. ...sets self on fire so LittleMe won't
