  1. Wow, Mairzy Doats is an old song reference! Lyrics (1943) I know a ditty nutty as a fruitcake Goofy as a goon and silly as a loon Some call it pretty, others call it crazy But they all sing this tune: Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you? Yes! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you? If the words sound queer and funny to your ear, a little bit jumbled and jivey Sing "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy" Oh! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you-oo? A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mairzy_Doats
  2. I would be beyond delighted to bump into in world one day, and see one of these fabulous outfits This one being top of my list so far!
  3. What a shame this is happening. I had an issue with the fantasseria 'decor pack' persistently not turning up, and that eventually fixed itself, but this sounds more on a level of the old continent where so many controllers just gave up on me.
  4. This is the other thread with extra photos https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/473720-how-does-your-sl-look-today/?do=findComment&comment=2698420
  5. Yes sorry about that, I put the link in another non Linden Home thread, I thought this was something everyone with premium accounts knew about apart from me. (also being asleep put a crimp in me being able to respond earlier! ) No this is a place made just for premium members, you can't get in otherwise. There are vehicle zones as well, and the sandboxes.
  6. The moles seemed to have enjoyed making these regions, and I spent longer there than I expected. One thing I really appreciated was a sense of background movement, flying birds for instance. The planting is very dense, maybe too much for an actual Belli region, but I wish we could have that style surrounding some Belli homes. I know one of the moles (sorry forgot who) said on this forum that putting proper functioning roads into builds takes up a lot of space. I wonder what it would be like to have at least one theme with just footpath trackways? Could we have denser vegetation in that case? I know I am very late visiting this build but at least I am appreciating it now 🌄
  7. Another destination guide visit, this time 'The Premium Wilderness'; https://secondlife.com/destination/premium-wilderness- It was better than I had imagined, and I spent a fair amount of time there exploring.
  8. During the pandemic I saw some very dangerous behaviour related to adult phone use and consequently unsupervised children. The most memorable was a small child falling off a cliff. Luckily the child was able to hang on to the edge by his fingertips and was subsequently able to climb back up and seemed none the worse as if this kind of thing was a regular event. Neither of the parents noticed, they were both embroiled in their individual and somewhat miserable looking worlds of phone.
  9. I think that if you find yourself spending lots of alone time in SL (for whatever reason) then some sort of self imposed structure can be helpful, whatever that happens to be, even if you sometimes throw this aside and do spontaneous things as well. Structure means different things to different people, so it could be making up games or challenges which contain their own satisfaction from being completed. It could also be about timetabling your activities, or working around existing SL events, such as shopping sales. SL allows for both asymmetrical and asynchronous socialising. So you could have a chat group pinging in the background without joining in, just knowing that people are around. Or you could have a very drawn out conversation on the forums here, only throwing in a remark every few hours / days. Sometimes it is about getting 'permission' to do the things you need, or want to do in any case, and not being too hard on yourself when things go awry (easier said than done I know).
  10. Part of my recent tour of Second Life destinations. Serene Retreat, beautifully detailed. Lots of couples snuggle spots, if that's what you after. Surprisingly crowded for SL time 3:40am in the morning. https://secondlife.com/destination/serene-retreat For tp and info.
  11. Any clue about this weird unamed sim below Buttercup Valley on the Southern edge of the Ranch region? Looks like void close up.
  12. I am always nervous suggesting things as there seems to be a kind of magnetic inevitability that I end up running the thing, and I think @Silent Mistwalker is right about the drama that always follows, so what I am saying is 'good move Sid'. @BilliJo Aldrin has it right thought really, in that as this is an official forum then it wouldn't really work in any case. On reflection, one of the reasons I like the forum is because I don't have to organise it, or moderate it, or all the other things that need doing to keep communities in good health. I can just turn up!
  13. My coathangers are very moody. Some days they just leap for freedom, or get into fights with each other. I try to treat them like bees, moving calmly and being reassuring.
  14. Maybe some quotes from people who enjoy the forum or who have found it helpful? Links to topics particularly helpful to newbies?
  15. Thank you, I tpd in on the other side of the barrier! Actually the displays that are available look well done to me, and there was a newbie looking around when I was there. Maybe this is just about getting more groups involved?
  16. I went to the Community Exhibition in WelcomeHub. I searched around but couldn't find any exhibits at all, did I miss something or is this a WIP?
  17. Maybe what is needed here, could be a facility to ignore certain threads? I know some people have asked for that in relation to the land adverts etc. I don't mind the social threads, the pet peeve one in particular can be quite interesting or entertaining.
  18. It didn't occur to me that there wasn't an off-topic section, I wonder why not? It is such a common thing elsewhere. Maybe it would be seen as too much work for the mods?
  19. It's Tuesday, restart day. Maybe some of the regions were down and that affected the count?
  20. After that, presumably to deal with the cholesterol, they get together to perform a Busby Berkley dance spectacular on our roof, just above my bedroom... tap tap shuffle ball change, kick kick..
