  1. Nope. I've made my views on this clear - figure it out.
  2. Today's peeve: Privacy nutters who mistakenly believe that just about everything is personal/personally identifying information. When you are able to track everyone down using information that has no ties whatsoever to the person behind the keyboard, do be certain to show such. As in prove it.
  3. Point blank: The sort that treat an account differently based on the age of the account are the sort one does not need to worry over the opinions of, nor the sort you should be fraternizing with in any capacity. Is it handy to know how long a particular account has been around? Possibly as it can be an indicator of how much one has seen transpire. It is not the only indicator however. There has been no valid reasoning presented herein for hiding said information - especially as described. Now were one to judge by actions/presentation ... The picture painted is not so rosy. ETA: Should someone contact you via PM or in world IM whom you do not wish to engage with ... Do not respond and block them. If on the forum be certain to close out the PM as well otherwise they can utilize the existing PM to circumvent the block.
  4. I have a few avatar/form changes that use "older" bodies or bodies I have more or less moved on from. For some of these I have no alternatives whatsoever and thus have to keep them around.
  5. No. Own your words, explain why things are different if need be, let whatever changes have occurred since those posts speak for themselves. Don't want your posts/messages to stay "forever" on the Internet, don't use it.
  6. Some e-mail providers can, will and have outright blocked Second Life related domains in the past - nothing to go to spam in that instance. To both date myself here and give an example of one that does not do that: Mine goes to an AOL e-mail.
  7. Except ... most of the time, they do not. If they've started to delete posts/responses linking to "SL Related" drama blogs/blog entries then good and about time.
  8. Yeah ... not had a single issue with my e-mail address and Second Life 'spam'. Then again I have a dedicated folder in it for Second Life related e-mails and I actually took the time at one point to adjust which groups can send me notices. My provider does still send some notices to the spam folder (false positives) requiring me to fish them out but .... Not all that tedious to do.
  9. No, it isn't rigged The way the system works was altered some time ago Make better content instead of complaining that you're being left in the dust (Unrelated to the OP post) No thread is "conveniently hidden" anywhere - there are categories and topic sections for a reason, use them as they are meant to be used Want to keep up on generalized threads? Right here - under the "People" category Technology? Right here Creator? Merchant or interested in being one/keeping up with what affects them? Land related topics ... And so on
  10. Alright, beyond time to take it elsewhere. Absolutely beyond. It is also absolutely beyond time for some here to start ignoring the usual suspects - the concern trolls, those who have to insert politics into everything they post, those who wish to perpetuate toxic ideologies (of all stripes) ... The list goes on.
  11. As long as you don't mind Adult things going on, The Ark is open to all sorts.
  12. This forum does not allow for a "total" block - you can see when they post and have the option to expand it so you can read it/respond to it/react to it. You can also see when they are quoted. PMs are a total block on any future PMs - you have to close out any existing PMs to remove their ability to message you if one is already open. You can also still see their reactions. As far as In World goes ... Blocking prevents you seeing their messages, yes.
  13. There are times when it is best to go to PMs and times when airing it all in public is best. One does not need to shut off PM functionality to avoid problematic users sending them either - one can block specific users from sending PMs.
  14. You chose to focus on what you call "pedantry" as opposed to the responses you got concerning the Grid Status entry. A singular response addressing it and then moving on/swinging back to the original reason for the thread would have sufficed. Welcome to online fora. If this is not your first rodeo in general then ... Well, perhaps it is well past time to change tactics, hmm?
  15. Except that plenty did indeed comment on your original post - the problem is that not all that many whatsoever agreed with you and with your take/tone. Which also has a bit to do with this supposedly unrelated pedantry concerning "comment" vs post/response and such. It is also your choice to focus on it or to simply ignore it - you chose the former and revealed far more in doing so than you may realize. Meh ...
  16. It would not matter which way they displayed it as the internal system will not be using anything other than a decimal value. ETA: Nor will the slider allow you to work outside of the internal values.
  17. One does not need to use the feeds to peruse unread topics.
  18. ... If you classify this as a "total fail" then the internet is not for you.
  19. @Love Zhaoying Many do not bother to actually look at anything outside of very specific categories and have the viewpoint that if it is not in General Discussion (up in the first Category) or in one of the places they frequent ... Then it is either buried or does not exist.
  20. Application Profiles and honestly all I've used is a global GLThreaded Optimization being turned on plus the sharpening being toggled on. Older card and still performs well, better now with the aforementioned settings.
  21. Nope. When it came to be is irrelevant to correcting even that. The correction should be: "Such a problem has existed for some time and is not limited to mesh." But then again, not everyone has a chip on their shoulder regarding account age.
  22. It was invented by those suffering from Fragile Masculinity (among other things) - when it came to be is irrelevant. Take the chip off of your shoulder sometime and look around at reality.
  23. Unfortunately it has little to do with forum participation and is a direct jab at account age.
