  1. When I was on mainland, I would put tall trees up by the wall and block the view with landscaping.
  2. If you look at the list of URLs using the buoys you find a lot of them are player's home parcels. I used one buoy I had for that purpose. I had a sim I landscaped and was very proud of, and I wanted people to come in and see it and provide fun things for people to do. Furthermore, I didn't sell anything there. I fished one last night (not through Clip's game) and it was a sim that was an amusement park, and it was neat. I also see a lot of adult places use them. I am not sure why, and I have often joked with fishing friends that if someone saw our teleport history they would think we were the biggest freaks in SL. The other buoy I used in my stores to increase traffic. That of course was back when that mattered. Back then you had to have traffic to have a decent ranking in search. You couldn't walk into a store and not see bot models on pose stands everywhere. Like it or not, that is how things use to be. The third buoy I used on clan land (yes, they have little fishing clans you can join). I also fished a lot over the years. For me, it was not about earning lindens. I started when a friend got into it and I joined in. I then met other friends, and now half my friend list is fishing players. While for some it is not social, for me, it was very much about socializing. The community is actually robust, full of friendly individuals and good people. I found it a nice because it was something to do that didn't include getting hit on non-stop. I still enjoy fishing, but now I go with other fishing games in SL and for reasons that are probably pretty obvious.
  3. I like to listen/watch to High School Musical (the Disney TV show) songs on Youtube.
  4. I have a love-hate relationship with mainland. When I had my in-world stores, mainland was the only way to go. I also used to do some SL farming and had breedables and mainland was best for that. I've found really nice abandoned parcels in the past and lived there happily, but I have also dealt with nearby neighbors who hung really low skyboxes, put up full bright walls, trees, spaceships etc and made the view ugly. I love mainland for the freedom it gives me, but it's hard sometimes to accept the freedom it gives the neighbor at the same time.
  5. Thank you 🙂 May you enjoy great success in your future projects.
  6. I got my information from your CSR who linked me this page: https://web.archive.org/web/20200512163344/http://www.goldtokens.net/blogs/1621/important-information-on-sl-user-name-changes I don't need my landowner buoys replaced (I had three over three different business avies). Furthermore, I do not use them anymore and do not plan to. And I do owe you an apology because I said in DM to you that I would try to let this go and move on and then today I let myself get involved again. I am allowing my personal grudge/anger with you to turn me into some forums keyboard warrior.
  7. I do agree with you, and let me clarify that I do not think Clip is stupid. I have to apologize to him, and everyone else here, if I gave that impression.
  8. I know enough to modify some scripts and how to use them correctly. Writing them from scratch is another thing. I don't know a lot about his code and why it is malfunctioning, and only he can truly answer those questions. From what I can tell from what's been said here and my experience with his product is that the database may be using a mixture of code written with usernames and UUID. It's my belief that is why the product is breaking. If he was using usernames alone, I would think a name change would simply create a new account in his database under the new name. However, because I think he has a mixture, the database is getting confused between an account that already exists and what it thinks is a new account. He includes a disclaimer with his product that warns that transferring poles to a different avie will break them (they are no transfer). Thus, I can fairly assume he knew name changes would break his product because his system sees them as new avies. I am only guessing mind you, and I am kind of hoping someone who actually knows scripting can come weigh in on that theory. I do think it's a very real possibility. And this brings me back to the Incubation collaboration pitch. In a concept like he proposes one has to be not only willing to share advice and knowledge but also be willing to take advice and knowledge.
  9. If you are new to the game, you can expect to maybe make 25L (on a regular event) off one buoy you fish for an hour and of that 20L you made, half of it goes back for bait. The lindens you "fish up" are paid by the landowners who deposit them into buoys they buy. The creator gets a percentage of the lindens deposited into the buoys. They also make lindens on the bait. You can fish without bait, but then one buoy would take hours to fish. Bait reduces your cast time and I don't know anyone who doesn't use it. You can earn more on multiplier events, and you make more as you level up. That is why people buy the expensive rods - they give much higher XP and level you much faster. I had these same questions which is why I made a post a few days back asking if people had issues with products after a name change, and from what I can gather, there is little to no other issues other than this one. I am not a scripter and someone please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems the issue is the coding being written with usernames and not UUIDs. If you change your name, your account with them starts over as a new account (or in my case, the pole stops working altogether), so any lindens (that had not been withdrawn from their ATM) or XP a user had earned on their pole are gone. If someone had a couple of thousands in their account, too bad because it's gone. Want your original account back? You have to pay upwards of 2,000L to get it. That is wrong to me. Here is an example of a fishing game and what users have on their poles. This is not their overall earnings during all the time they have fished, but what they currently have not cashed out. And as you can see here, for some people, it's a lot of lindens. 🙂🙂
  10. Looks fab! I like the trees on the patio. That is an idea I may use too!
  11. I particularly like the zones butted up against the log or cabin areas. I can imagine sipping my fruity tropical drink beneath the palms with the cool ocean breeze blowing through, and then getting on my trusted steed and taking a moonlit horseback ride through the cabins and woodsy areas afterward.
  12. I made one to match, and I can send you a copy. Also, I think at one time Blush Bravin was giving one away in her in-world store, but I am not sure if she is doing that now. You can contact me in-world at this avie with yours and I will pass it to you.
  13. My trusted SL friends know my RL name, know where I live, have heard my RL voice through Skype, and know what I look like. Almost all of them are on my Facebook page. They see my house projects and remodeling. They saw the pics of my new puppy etc. Those particular SL residents earned that privilege. They in turn have shared with me, and I consider that an honor. As for the rest of SL, I do not feel I need or even should open my RL to them. My RL doesn't have an open door, and just like in RL, I don't leave my front door open so strangers can walk in.
  14. I had an issue with a mainland sim about 3 or more months ago, and they restarted the sim as soon as I got someone in live chat.
  15. We are not the same person. Go to your database and look at our IP addresses which I am sure you can see. Once you do that, I will gracefully accept your apology. Also, you can go to the Marketplace, look in your sale transaction history for my name and see what I have purchased and to whom all those purchases went to (by gifting etc).
  16. I really like the new areas that connect to log regions and/or camper regions. I am crossing my fingers that I can roll a good one in one of those locations when the release.
  17. I love this thread and the entire Slenderman Belli thing, but I would probably get chills if I saw him close to me on the map, and I was alone. I still believe there are monsters under my bed.
  18. Tari and I are not the same person. I do not use multiple accounts on the SL forums to come in and back up my posts, because I think that's scummy.
  19. You said the pics were part of a promotion of your business. And yes, I have seen all the pics. All your social media accounts are promoted on your SL related website and in your SL group. So it's on topic.
  20. Ok, if that is what you are promoting then I do not think I care if my buoys/poles or whatever are replaced. You are socially tone-deaf. I am out. Good luck with your endeavors.
  21. Thank you. I will try again when I am in world next. I hope you take some of the other things I said to heart and work on those. I appreciate this kind reply.
  22. I do feel sad about your hack. Your community is great - the players that is. I own a lot of your products and I have supported your businesses through my businesses for years. I own your buoys and have paid out tens of thousands of lindens to your fishers over the years I used them. I do sincerely hope the culprit is caught and your database is secure, and it never happens again. With that said, I have been IM'ing you for over a week. You answered the first one by passing me a notecard talking about your hack and in which you compared your hacking to the attack on Pearl Harbor. My expensive pole does not work. Some poles do not work at all, and I do not know if it is due to the hacking and some stuff still left over from that or from a paid name change. And I can not get you to answer my IMs and speak to me about it, so we can get it sorted. I was told by your CSR that maybe the paid name change broke it. It worked for months after I changed names (yes, I lost my rank/stats but I was ok with that), but suddenly doesn't work at all. I was sent a blog post stating I may need to pay you to fix it. I can not even get you to answer, so I know where or when to pay this fee to get it fixed. You ignore me. I do not IM you from this account, because this is my business account - one of a few I have. If you privately IM me here, I can give you the name of the avie with the issue, and you can do one of many things. 1 - you can super ban me from your lands because I made you mad which is your right. 2 - Ignore me in this message and do nothing because you think all is well, and I believe I am making things up. 3 - Message me privately, get more info and investigate a potential issue you may not have been fully aware of.
  23. If that is truth, I am sorry that happened to you. You do seem to have a lot of blackmailers and hackers which is concerning. Why do you think you attract those types? What about the other things I mentioned?
