  1. Yes, I did as well. I do not maintain a wishlist and received some $L (liquor money) that will be passed on to an inworld charity. Thank you so much MrAnonyMoose for your thoughtful gesture and for thinking of others in this time of goodwill.
  2. Started this with my daughter today. She asked if I'd ever heard of it. Uh, yeah, watched the movies decades ago. It's still funny.
  3. I had to look up glogg. I don't cook in SL, but I can supply some ingredients. /me checks the recipe, scribbles out an amount in metric and doubles it, multiplies by 4, divides by 3, scribbles again, gives up and dumps in the whole bottle.
  4. Mmmmmm /me peruses the options and selects a Santa mug of hot chocolate and a gingerbread cookie then skips away singing fa lalalala la la la la.
  5. I don't think anyone has pointed this out yet, but the fantasy home night glow has turned to its winter blues, teals, and whites. Lovely!
  6. I can't maintain a theme for long either. I simply run out of ideas. That is why I almost always choose the smallest home to decorate. 2 or 3 rooms is fine, but any more than that and it's too much.
  7. This home style is really a blank slate to me. I can't decide what I want to do and probably won't be inspired until I get one. I'll file away the 60's peace and love style as an option, too ✌️ I do love the colors
  8. I think I've decided on the Gatwood model and a retro and industrial fusion for decorating. I'm gonna need a shell for inside so I can bring the metal container texture on the outside to the inside. Since it's a 2-story model I don't need to plan for a rooftop garden and can stop looking at fire escapes as a way to reach the roof, but I'll have to figure out what to do with the wooden stair rails. I have weeks to decide and plan (and then change my mind 10 times.) Also, I'll need a giant metal key like you used to find on the outside of sardine cans or spam cans... for reasons.
  9. I've shown my log home and my traditional. I don't remember if I showed my stilt before I abandoned it, but it was completely art deco and I had a mainland parcel that was 50s retro. I've had this houseboat for a year and may be letting it go when the container homes are released. I usually try something completely different with each home I catch and keep for any length of time. I prioritize being a good neighbor even when I decorate in a style very different from the theme. This houseboat is actually a spaceship. It needed to be able to take off for another planet at a moment's notice or navigate a meteor belt without breaking everything 😄, so there is very little clutter and very clean (and a bit cold.) It has sleeping pods, a rooftop garden with alien plants, holographic plants inside, a kitchen with everything tucked away. I had a lot of fun shopping for all of it. I may reuse some of this retro/futuristic decor in my new container home. I just haven't made a final determination of how I want to decorate the new theme, yet. I wanted to share this one just in case I do let it go. It is different, but I think I did a fairly good job of making the variations subtle enough to still fit in the neighborhood.
  10. I love the option of bold colors and the black brick. Boring beige/gray is still available for those who don't want any color. Both the chalets and the fantasy homes have exterior colors that barely change between the options. I'm glad the neighborhood won't just be beige/gray tones like the last 2 themes.
  11. Some of the home styles have interior walls that do not have windows or doors. You may have to be creative with upper cabinet placement, but I think it is doable.
  12. This is such an inviting little cubby. I want to sit back in that chair with some headphones and chill.
  13. This is how I feel about chalets, stilts, houseboats, and trads. Not at all my style. I tried each of them just for the experience. The only ones that can even remotely feel like "home" to me are logs, fantasy, and campers. The Victorians are not bad but are completely dependent and location and I haven't caught a location I like. A container home may never feel like home, but I'm eager to give it a try and see what happens. I do currently have a trad. I mostly dislike the actual house, but the location is amazing and unique, so it works out.
  14. I kinda love the small parcels especially the Gatewood and Ender models. They are a good balance of only a few rooms to decorate and still getting some yard to play with outside. Both have walk out roof areas. I wonder how hard it will be to get a 512 when they are released. It might be like trying to get a stilt on pier. If I get one, I might look for a 512 on mainland somewhere to use my tier.
  15. It really has a much warmer feel now. Pardon the low graphics, but I wanted to turn up draw distance instead.
  16. And it is a huge improvement in neighborhood feel! There are some photos of what the real area may look like. Bridges, hills, and color!
  17. Donning my gay apparel at home Edited to add a song:
  18. I still think the large size of the houses on the parcels, the sparce community landscaping, and having some smaller parcel sizes mixed in just makes it seem tighter. If the average number of homes is similar to other areas, then I would think any lag issues would be the same. Some people are more responsible and considerate with their decorating choices than others.
  19. I am excited to see the re-release. I keep thinking that the decision to unveil a neighborhood of all white houses was an artistic decision that the rest of us just didn't get. Individuality is important to residents even in a themed covenanted area, so adding some color will change the uniform feel. I spent some time looking up container homes because I wasn't familiar with the style and didn't have any idea where the inspiration came from. While I do wish I could have the smaller 512 house on a 1024 parcel, I am excited to try one of these out and to see what others do with it. It will be a challenge (for me) to create an outdoor landscape that stays within the theme of this more modern and clean style. Something to think about for the weeks or months before the real release. Bring on some color and individuality. I want to see it!
  20. My trad has gone through at least 10 different decorating ideas. I tried light and bright, girly and frilly, bold rainbows, rustic and all kinds of things. I hated them all. I finally found a style I liked. I have some land impact to play with, so possibly a rug in the entrance and some clutter on the bookshelves in the bedroom is still needed. All black and gold except for the red entrance area:
  21. That exists somewhere? I kinda want to see it. I'd have to turn my particle setting up for full effect.
  22. Has anyone thought about how fun it would be to get a home by one of the public pools just to enjoy watching cars/bicycles fail to navigate turns on the road due to lag or region crossings and end up crashing into the pool? Just me? Okay, never mind.
