  1. HAHAHA!!! I derendered all those signs. So there were no rules to break. No sign, no problem. BTW, the chair you chose had the same sign. Lucky for you, I derendered that one, as well. I also derendered the "Don't touch this lamp" sign and clicked it about a million times. Nothing bad happened.
  2. The Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy, I think. I'm not 100% sure on that (or my spelling) I don't have a passport or license, but I seem to remember trick or treating at the headquarters.
  3. You have to opportunity to gather your group and plan a big event in the way you picture it. They don't represent me personally either, but they foster community by bringing people together for a celebration of something they like. I'll go to a few parties and I'm kind of excited to see what is in the surprise regions they put together. I'm not going to demand they open it before it's ready so I can tell them all the things they are doing wrong according to me. I don't want to help with the planning, but after you get your full community input event together, I'd like to be a door usher or a bouncer! or something really simple that only takes a couple hours of time. Just know that no matter how much community input you get, people will still criticize you for not using their input. People will still be mad that they didn't get to be a part of whatever they wanted to in your event.
  4. So, a group of Belli residents that plan and put on a lot of public events got together and thought it would be fun to plan a big 5 year anniversary party! Yay! The planning started. They decide it can be bigger and better than a fairgrounds party, so they approach the Lab with their ideas and ask if they can help out with making it bigger and better. The group shows the plan. Wow, these crazy people want to do all this work, planning, building, creating, and, in a way, advertising the Labs product. For free?!?!?! Let's see if there is anything we can offer them to assist in putting together this big party that we don't have to pay any employees or contractors to do and will only have to be minimally involved with. Here, you can temporarily have these regions for the plan you brought forward. Turn off the lights when you're done. We'll delete the regions on this day. Best of luck. So, all I have to do is get a group together with all the skills needed for putting on a big event, make a plan together, settle the logistics, write it all up, take it to the Lab, and pitch the idea. Yeah, screw that. A years worth of planning? Nope. Not I. That is not how I want to spend my limited time inworld. It sounds like they did ask a few people they know to donate a free gift. Most people love freebies. It's not being set up as a shop-n-hop with 50 gazillion regions for every creator on SL and no one is making any money. I am sure the Lab would love for more enthusiastic people to plan stuff like this. So, gather your small groups and start your planning. Take your ideas to the Lab and see if they can help with your vision.
  5. But who decides what underage looks like? If the lab made a rule that said playing an adult anime character is okay, is that all you need? They specifically defined that that aesthetic is okay to be in adult situations. You may think it looks childlike, but the lab took culture and lifestyles into consideration.
  6. A landowner can't ban someone from the platform. That permission is for (hopefully) only the Lindens tasked with investigating these things. Do you really want LL to start defining things like perceived age, clothes, acceptability to be inworld? I don't. I want to make those determinations myself.
  7. While LL looks at their current TOS/CS and has to decide if it provides enough protection for them, I don't want them to have to define things like "childlike". I really think that should be up to land owners. I don't want any social groups banned from having an inworld presence. If someone wants to be short and big eyed because they like anime or just the aesthetic great. I may get booted from someones club because I am tall and have tiny eyes with a message that says "come back when you shrink and add ruffles to your clothing or don't come back at all." The Lab does not need to define these things. Landowners do. The Lab only needs to have enough rules to follow the law.
  8. I don't want the Lab changing their rules. I DO want parcel owners of adult places to be super clear about what they allow on their parcel or in their club. I go to a few adult music venues. The rules say it's okay to do adult stuff there. Naked people on the dance floor with grinding dances because thats what THEY like, someone getting busy in the corner on adult animated furniture because that's what THEY like, some one naked and kneeling in a corner covered in... ummm... goo and on a leash because that's what THEY like. Then a child avatar TPs into the club. I want the club to have an enforced rule to instantly boot them with a message to come back on adult avatar or not come back at all. I don't care if "underage avatar" is subjective. That should be up to the parcel owner. LL should enforce the rules they have and parcel owners can expand on and clarify those rules for what is acceptable on their land. I wish it was as easy as LL just saying underage avatars are barred from Adult regions, but that won't work because there is no way to guess the ages of some avatars accurately. People like pushing to see what they can get away with.
  9. Checking out some of the buildings. There are a lot of Dutch artists represented and so much detail. Beautiful! The garden in front of the government building Have you read yesterday's SL news?!?!?! Yeah, nothing much. Move along.
  10. Went to check out Canal City ysterday. @archangel969 did a great job! Waiting impatiently for hot tea and stroopwafels. These Dutch people sure are tall! Enjoying the view of the canals and windmill @Bagnu joined me for some sightseeing
  11. I gave up on catching up on this thread. What I would like, is to trust that the company I give money to for "membership" and land tier each month is hiring, firing, and doling out jobs to the most qualified Lindens and Moles, not just who they like best. I would like to trust that Lindens never use their god-powers to retaliate against residents for any reason like using us as entertainment by making body parts appear inappropriately, logging people out, adding debt to accounts, or reading residents IMs. I would like to see objective oversight in this area. I want to trust them.
  12. You might be an oldbie if you ever got sent to the Cornfield. *cough* I couldn't possibly be an oldie because I don't know everything about SL or the viewers, or all the tools, and I haven't created anything beyond using the inworld build tools.
  13. There are people who want it to be true because other people's drama is fun. There are people who don't want it to be true because they put their heads in the sand and sing lalalala. I have nothing I can speculate on, because I do not have any actual facts.
  14. Enjoying some hot blues last week Enjoying some much cooler tunes earlier today at one of my favorite music places. They were having a James Bond Theme with music from the movies. I didn't remember how painfully slooooooow some of those theme songs were. Now I have to go shopping for slower dances for my AO. Creative camera angles, cropping, and a fuzzy EEP used because not everyone is fully dressed at this venue.
  15. I LOVE this song! Thanks for sharing. It's been added to my playlist, but what the hell did I just watch? I might have to look up the meaning of the video, because I don't get it. 😄
  16. I ask them what they like to do and then take them to do it if I can. If they don't know what they want to do, I'll suggest a few things. I don't recommend going to busy clubs with fully decked out mesh bodies with add-ons and mesh heads. They just feel out of place and never want to come back. Smaller newbie friendly clubs are okay, teach them how to use the dance animations or ask to join a group dance, pretty regions to explore, help filling out their profiles, a short etiquette lesson on friending, talking in local vs IMing, how to use search and where to find the Destination Guide, how to make and find a landmark, and the most important lesson - patience. Mostly they seem to just want a friendly person who will talk to them a bit. I have never met a newbie who just said, "Where's teh sex?" I found a newbie in my Linden home a month or so ago. I welcomed him and told him could use the house as a home base to open boxes and change clothes or invite a friend back (no adult furniture in the house and 10 min auto-return). Last time I looked, he had a friend there with him, so he must have met at least one person on his journey. I did warn him that most people would not actually like that he was in their house, but he found the right one. Hook them on the fun, then fix up the avatar based on their interests.
  17. Maybe you're you're asking if someone else who happens to own the same body or head as you do, can control your body or head with their HUD? If that is what you are asking, no, their HUDs cannot change anything that you own even if it is the same as what you own.
  18. It sounds like you might need a break from SL. If nothing is fun for you inworld and your depression is worse when you log in, then don't log in. It's not an escape from real life if you feel worse. A break for a few days or weeks might be just what you need to reset. Is there anything you enjoy doing inworld? You don't like clubs, music, creating, building, photography, playing dressup, going new places because pervs are everywhere, and every suggestion has been shot down. Using SL to forget about realife hardships for a while usually helps people, but right now it is adding to your pain and isolation. Try taking a short break and hang in there through this difficult time.
  19. What's that like? A vacation. I imagine it can be pretty peaceful and stress free. Enjoy! I hope it resets you like it should 😊
  20. I am not thrilled with the new "trendy" styles being made for LaraX either. I haven't bought as much as I am willing to spend. I don't like the shirt pulled up showing the breast or the skirt so short that it looks like a belt. I've given up on weekend sales for clothing. I am willing to spend on clothing I like, but the quality and styles I like are difficult to find.
  21. Sorry about that. It was a really good bone and I didn't want to share. In my defense, I gave you plenty of warning to back off from your thieving ways before that bite. I've been vaccinated for rabies, so just wash the wound and learn your lesson.
  22. There is no such thing as "just" a housewife. 😊 Welcome to your SecondLife where you can be anything! Most of us are fruitloops, so you'll fit right in.
