You can also find great deals on abandoned mainland. They're a little tricky to find, but can usually be purchased from LL for 1 L$ per square meter.

I'm a little jaded on the whole thing, but I have to admit, I do sometimes miss being in a relationship in SL. Especially on Valentine's.

Are there Valentine's Peeps? They seem to have them for ever other holiday now. Answered my own question. Of course there are.

You can build in-world with mesh without using Blender. I spent a substantial stash of L$ on those pre-made kits before I realized I could convert standard prims to mesh within the Firestorm viewer. This was one of those changes that took place during those years when I was away. I only had to upload one or two basic forms that I then resized to form walls and floors. I just completed my first house. I did buy a few pieces from MP, the roof and railings mainly, but overall I'm pleased with the result. I recommend trying it, especially if, like me, you learned to build with prims way back when. (It's a little sparse, I'm still decorating.)

Same here, except instead of snow, there's rain. Lot's of rain. They're sending my daughter home early from work because they're afraid the bridge through town is going to be shut down. Also, I have laundry on the line.

I've had to stop looking at houses because it was getting out of control. I'm also slowly accumulating a folder full of horses, with Teegle being the current favorite. They just came out with a draft that I'm saving for.

There's a new season on Netflix. There goes my week.

I felt the same when I returned earlier this year, but SL is the same in a way. It's a lively or as dead as you want it to be. There were some major changes while I was gone and I've spent my time trying to learn the things I missed. Find something to do, join some new groups. Also, mainland sort of does look like the day after the Apocalypse. I feel like I stepped out of Mad Max or The Walking Dead as I ride through abandoned regions on my horse.

Worrying about it isn't going to change anything. Live in the moment. Buy that funky beach house, sit on the sand while in your first life, snow pelts the ground outside the window. Stop wringing your hands about what might happen tomorrow. LIVE YOUR LIFE. This has been a public service announcement. We now return to our regularly scheduled bickering.

When I returned to SL some months ago, I started out by buying land and flipping it. While I waited for it to sell, I'd squat on a sky island until it was time to move on. I eventually bought a 1024 on the water, then eventually picked up the abandoned parcels bordering both the east and west, giving me a nice little 2560m lot. I realized I could buy another 512m without my monthly fees going up, so I grabbed a tiny sea parcel and set it up to lease. I spent a small fortune on the rental scripts and the parcel remains empty, but whatever lol. As for my home, I change the house out all the time. I have a house buying addiction. I have a building platform in the sky where I'm trying to master building and texturing my own. I figure it's cheaper than buying a new one every week. In the old days, I owned a small parcel that I used for business. There was a pretty little park on the ground and a "classy," by-the-hour boom-boom room in the sky. I used Bear Infohub as my home base and hung out there with friends most of the time.

Cold. Just cold. I know people get annoyed when folks complain about the cold in the winter and being too hot in the summer, but it was in the 60's last week and in the teens yesterday. I'd like to speak to a manager.

My opinion? Maybe people do play games or post popularity pics for attention. So? I'm an only child, I NEED ATTENTION.

I keep the mini map open all the time so that I can obsessively check the profiles of every little dot I see. It's a hobby. Or I'm just nosey.
