Perhaps try logging into a different region? As it could be the region you are logging into is having troubles. At the location prompt, enter another region name. E.g. Pooley - this is a linden-owned water region. Emma

About mainland - my personal experience: For the last year my friend and I have had a plot around 4,400 prims (not inworld right now, so cant be sure) tier free from the allowances of 4 premium accounts from LL direct and donated to a group. We both have shops there. It is not crowded - for the shops' sake it would be nice if it was! There is no lag. We bought the parcel at L$ 1 per sqm from LL. I know of two other people who more recently purchased parcels directly from LL. The land is on a fairly flat green piece of mainland directly by a Linden Road. One of my friends' parcel is a water front with - not entirely unimpeded - views, but its nice to be by the water. I have found more abandoned pieces of land near water front just flying around and believe it is still possible to ask LL to sell them to you directly. I do feel for me there is some extra value in having Mainland. There are less restrictions - e.g. you may have a shop, club, etc., you are more free to build what you want and where you want. Emma

Thank you for that work around, Fox. I was under the impression that you would be billed if you held more land than your present tier allowance for even one second within a billing period. I hadn't realised that there was a grace period between taking your tier from a group and donating it back. Emma

This to me is one of the most frustrating aspects of the current situation... you cannot really enjoy one of the current perks of premium membership while hoping to snag a new Linden Home. This does seem to me to add much to the exasperation for those waiting. It is particularly difficult if you currently have some mainland with your "free" tier allowance. It probably would be too much to expect for this to be changed so that you are able to ABANDON your tier holding only at the time you "sign" for a new Linden Home... Emma

you made your alt premium AFTER the premium prepay offer became live (4th June or so)? AND got an option to renew for the lower rate for another year? IF SO, that makes me very unhappy about the advice I received from LIVECHAT on 5th or 6th June... - this is what i posted in the New Premium price increases and this Oldbie thread on 6th June: "I asked one of the Live Chat people about doing this. i can think of 2 ways: 1) make an outfit folder - let's call it BASIC - and name it beginning with an ! to move it to the top of the list add your item into it and anything else you usually wear so my BASIC folder may be - mesh body, HUD, shape for that body, eyes, skin, eyebrows (aka hairbase), AO, TP and group changer HUD have only the clothing items in your normal outfit folder add the BASIC folder, add the clothes only outfit folder to change clothes, rightclick the clothes folder to take off these items, then rightclick and add your other new outfit folder (removing the items from the BASIC folder from all clothes folder will also reduce the size of your inventory!) 2) wear the item go to CURRENT OUTFIT folder copy the link to the item from there click inside each existing outfit folder paste the link into it Emma

No, I didn't try. I was only going to upgrade the alt if i had been possible to upgrade her at the old rate and prepay for another year. If I remember Grumpity's words correctly, I believe she said "existing premium members" - this is what made me check with LL before upgrading the alt. The Live Chat person initially thought it would be possible but then went to check the information - and the answer was NO.

my guess is that that green shape encompasses the shapes of all the houses that can be rezzed on that plot - so that any house shape can be properly fitted into the landscaping...

Not stupid at all! And yes you can. (BTW if the furniture isn't modifiable you can sort of still do it by rezzing a prim - containing an animation engine and animations - in the right place for that furniture - for storage, you will need to select both objects at the same time and take them back into your inventory.) Occasionally furniture will let you add your own animations within the animation engine (sometimes furniture scripted with nPose, AVSitter and MLP - there may be more). It's most likely that you will need to put a new animation engine into the furniture - there are many. The ones mentioned above are free - there are good tutorials and I know that at least for nPose there is an inworld group that runs classes on using the engine. Emma

I too hate the arm following - it hurts to see how her arm gets bent up sometimes!! But I like the eye / head following when I'm talking to someone - lifting or inclining the head as though giving attention to what is being said by the other person... (which I make happen by ALT + clicking on them) Emma

Really pleased that LL is allowing non-premium members to keep 42 groups. It's much appreciated that LL listened. THANK YOU. As a small contribution to better running of groups, I will clear inactive members from my tiny group... every little helps...

not a single page option & wont alert you ... but its quicker than setting up searches each time: sort your favourite store into newest first and any other search criteria you like to use then save this search as a bookmark in your browser Emma

a little trick i use: a gift set to a group will show that group on its description(first window when you go into edit mode on any object) click the VIEW button next to that name and the group join window will pop up Emma
