What are some of your guilty pleasures?

llBreakLink (It's a Linden Scripting Language command that unlinks the prims of an object. It makes a bit of a mess... ) Emma -
Item removed from Marketplace
Emma Krokus replied to Aragon Sommer's topic in Building and Texturing Forum
I do feel an example (set to no transfer - please not no modify as it does not make it easy to replicate the sculpt sizes and orientations) is very helpful to the builder. I dreaded opening some boxes of sculpt maps, knowing it would take me some time to get the sculpty (often several parts) just "right". Some creators included gadgets which would take one of my prims and "make" the sculpt with that. Needless to say I loved those creators! Emma -
I am 10 years old... I only learned last year that i can rightclick the HUD which is not visible on the screen, in my inventory. Then I choose EDIT from the menu and, with the build window now visible, I use the position up / down buttons to bring the HUD into visible screen area. Emma

I am wondering if - on the page after you click CHECKOUT for the cart, the one with 'Place your order to complete checkout' - you scrolled down the page to click the button 'Place your order' at the bottom of that page? I always think that's not all that obvious to see..

Thank you ChinRey Emma -
Delighted with this! It's modifiable - thank you Linden Lab for listening:) The weather feature is awesome - and i adore the swooping bats. i love the idea of the story time too and the animation for the listeners are very cute. Lower LI would have been nice but the build does remain stable from a long way away and it is an outdoor scene... So THANK YOU very much! Emma

ive had this happen and the kittycat team replaced mine. good luck! Emma

Try changing the rotation to - 90.0 Emma

I would suggest Alli & Ali (it could be Ali & Alli - not inworld to be able to check). They have a lot of styles similar to this, plus fully functional demos in one colour and a very well organised store for finding hair of different lengths and styles. Good luck Emma

Attaching an object before the animation starts...

Hi Rolig Will do :). Thanks! Emma -
Attaching an object before the animation starts...
Emma Krokus replied to Emma Krokus's topic in LSL Scripting
Thank you Rolig and Ruthven ! Your comments are really helpful I will experiment. And yes, I thought about putting the animation into the object BUT orientation towards the washing line is really important. I don't know how to do that as the avatar is free to wander with the attachment. I felt the animation needed to be in the wash tub which is linked to the clothes line to make sure the avatar does hang clothes on the line and not in midair somewhere. And I am not nearly clever enough to know how to do it otherwise. But please... educate me! Emma -
Scenario: a wash tub - a washing line - hang up clothes animation - clothes item to hang up in wash tub inventory Ideal scenario: I'd like to have the avatar sit, for an item to temporarily attached to them, then start the animation when that item is attached and detach it when they are unseated Issues: I don't think from reading I can attach objects from a prim's content... how annoying! so the item needs to be rezzed... then attached using llAttachToAvatarTemp it's essential the avatar maintains its orientation towards the washing line... but I don't want the animation to start yet... - so maybe I could use a kind of start/waiting animation maybe, then trigger the hang up clothes animation when the item is attached to the avatar with llGetAttached...? If anyone has other ideas or can point out flaws in my logic I'd be very grateful! Emma

Thank you Profaitchikenz, Bitsy and Ruthven @ Profaitchikenz: I'll look into that. Interesting about the sign... And yes I suspect the problem with the rocking chair is getting off while it's in motion. Haha - just thought of jumping off an rl playground swing while it's swinging really high - good times @ Bitsy: Thank you, my learned friend @ Ruthven: I will look for one such animation and experiment... maybe it will throw unseat the avatar clear of the bounding box. Emma

Thanks Innula - that's very kind of you. I must have about a dozen swing scripts and I shall add yours! Yes, I really did want to use the KFM script and was interested to explore the issue. Now I have choice... go with the KFM script and make people stop the rocking before they get off (which is SO last decade!) or go with something like llTargetOmega... Emma

Hi Profaitchikenz Thank you for your curiosity Yes it's fine without KFM running. When standing up, she stands in the chair as it's set to physics_type NONE and PHANTOM for good measure! I tried without PHANTOM and because the seat cushion is the "engine" and can't be NONE, it pushes her nicely forward of the chair as she unsits. But there is no flinging about as happens with KFM. Maybe I should change my mindset and call it a "feature" ... or does someone else have any ideas? Emma

Hi Innula & PheebyKatz, Thank you for your suggestions :). @ Innula Zenovka - Yes I agree - it does seem like that. I tried setting the child prims to physics_shape NONE already - to no avail... @ PheebyKatz - that might just turn it into a seller... and I wasn't even trying like I did with the Rocket Chair! HAHA Emma

Thank you animats, Rolig and PheebyKatz I'd like to understand more about how the chair moves back when the avatar stands up... failing to get my head around that at the moment. ETA: Thanks Rolig for posting that link! The problem is with KFM I think... Yes to all your questions, Rolig... seems I'm stuck... unless I make the avatar click to stop the chair rocking first before standing up. Which seems inelegant... Standing on top would be fine PheebyKatz - unfortunately this is literally flinging the avatar around quite a distance. Funny to me ... I guess some people wouldn't appreciate it though ...

I am using a KFM (keyframed motion) script for a rocking chair. I managed to make the rocking start when the script detects the avatar as an added link as they sit down. Touching the chair changes to the next pose. (This function is contained in a separate script.) On standing up I am stopping the kfm animation but finding that the avatar gets displaced when standing up - quite dramatically in some instances. I would be grateful for some advice with this please. Thank you! Emma
