  1. Confirm that you really are logged in -- look in the upper right corner to verify the 'Log In' and 'Sign Up' buttons are NOT there.
  2. The top of the page should look like this - if the Join Group isn't showing, I'm not sure what the problem is. Side note - I see the Join button even when I'm not logged in, though if I click it, I do get a popup window for logging in.
  3. It probably isn't necessary to point out that she is still displaying the same behavior. If she is still racist and hateful then that behavior will eventually show itself. Thus any new friends that she gets from this post or any other way will ultimately see the behavior and can make their own decisions about how to handle it.
  4. That would depend. Since the OP sells wedding services, the picture would have to be personal to not be considered advertising.
  5. Ah, yes, I had forgotten about that thread. Here it is - post your pics there:
  6. I posted the link to the group in the thread that you first asked about this: Additionally, if you are on one of the actual Pic of the Day blog postings, the link is right under the pic: Clicking the link will take you to Flickr -- sign in and then click on the Join button for the group
  7. However, the Lifestyles and Relationships category, is not the place for you to show off your creations. Maybe General Discussions, and even that might not be allowed - if you sell your stuff, then it would be considered advertising and not allowed.
  8. I'd probably b!tch up a storm and keep filing ticket after ticket, because their own guidelines page specifically says that "depictions of or references to alcohol" fall into the Moderate category.
  9. A search of the forums will result in many discussions of this, but it all boils down to what you consider to be of benefit to your account. My guess is that there are far more free accounts that paid. If you decide to go that route, but are leaving for a few months, I sure wouldn't bother paying until you are back. As to the benefits / perks: - 512 sqm tier allowance that you can use by either getting a Linden Home or apply towards tier after buying some Mainland - L$300 stipend each week - 60 groups instead of ?? 42 ?? (not sure of the non-Premium limit) - Access to some Premium only areas (sandboxes, hunts, some race location, etc) - Ability to get into "full" events a little easier - Access to Live Chat if you have issues - rather than just Support tickets (and I think you get more options on Support tickets) - Some Premium gifts now and then - 90 days of Transaction History rather than just 30 days (possibly a few other things that aren't coming to mind right now) If you decide to go that route, the yearly payment is the cheapest if you can afford it.
  10. When I was out skin shopping a few months back, I was actually amazed at the number of places I found that only did applier skin. An associated irritation for me, is that so many of the makeups done these days are only applier makeups without including a tattoo layer for classic heads.
  11. Good morning everyone. I start a nice long vacation this coming Sat. so of course this week will be super looooooooooong for me. Anyway, I brought food and a variety of coffees and teas, so dig in.
  12. That is because nudity in and of itself is not sexual. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Adult_Content_FAQ: Is simple nudity without sex Adult? Depending on context, nudity may not require an Adult rating. For example all of the following could be rated Moderate: A nude beach without sexual activity. Skin vendors showing a nude skin to display the product. Nude art that is not sexual. Strip clubs that do not use adult words in search or host sex furniture. Depending on the context, exposed genitalia may not be considered Adult. For example: Hanging out at a nude beach would be fine. Walking around pants-less on the mainland could be inappropriate. Non-sexualized depictions of nudity are Moderate NOT Adult.
  13. If you want to ensure that any place you takes your SL kids is a "safe place", then make sure you stick to G rated sims. As Jerilynn pointed out, if you think there are never kids around nude adults in the US then you know nothing about the American Association for Nude Recreation. And yes, they have locations in the US for families to go and all be nude together. And those adults actually have real genitalia exposed.
  14. Based on what Nyx said, I'd guess it has to do with the 'Bull and Bunny' Pick in your profile. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it - I don't see anything "evil" about anything being done in any of your picks
  15. I see it on the right side of the main forum page and on each forum sub-page, but not on each individual thread page
  16. I'm not sure if I remember any of the money ones or not. Though it doesn't sound too familar, I'm sure I ran across some of them. I think I figured that I somehow got a better deal camping to an actual item - hair / dress / shoes / whatever. I got a lot of those items for anywhere from 30-60 min of camping. Granted, the quality of much of it was horrid, but it took me quite a few months to really figure out what good quality clothing was. In the beginning I was really happy to get a dress for sitting somewhere for an hour. In thinking about it - I do remember dance pads that paid you. I think I must have had horrid timing and no patience because any time I saw them they were full and they never seemed to become available in a reasonable time period.
  17. I love it - I'm a sucker for red/black combinations anyway.
  18. OMG. That sort of camping was definitely gone by early/mid 2007 - only camping for products was around in my beginning. I do remember Money Trees being around in my first 6 months or so. If you had a good enough computer such that things rezzed quickly, you could scoop up quite a bit from those. I seldom ever exceed about L$50 over 3-4 hours time, but that still seemed like a ton to a newbie.
  19. There were (and still are) way more women's clothing and hair stores than men and back in 2007 they all had camping chairs that many of us utilized, even when we were willing to put RL money into SL. You couldn't go shopping anywhere for women's stuff without finding tons of camping chairs, so even as a newbie, I found lots all on my own just by bouncing around to different stores. Since you are older than me and didn't know about them right away, I'm guessing that it was likely the difference in the number of stores for guys vs girls and the way those stores went about attracting their customers. In my case, it didn't have anything to do with whether or not I stayed, but I really liked that it offset the amount of money that I needed to put into SL back then.
  20. I call it the 'Curse of non-standard browser interfaces'. I have a variety of things that will only work right on Firefox, a few that only work right in Chrome, and another batch that will only work correctly in IE. It all drives me crazy - though luckily most websites will work correctly across multiple browsers.
  21. First I'd try another browser. Then, as a Premium member, I'd use Live Chat because they will stay in the chat working with you until it is resolved - or until they need to maybe contact a more technical resource. Start Live Chat: https://support.secondlife.com/start-chat/ Live Chat is available 5am to 3pm PST every day.
  22. Since you are not yet in trouble, it is highly unlikely that you will be. Assuming the bra and panties rez at the same time that you do - there are always SL glitches. I wouldn't worry too much.
  23. Yeah, I don't know if it would increase the number of new users that decide to stay, but if the gems could be put towards land purchase, that might encourage some existing members to become Premium and get land. With many, I think once they start getting their own land, they tend to want to increase the size of that land, which means increased tier fees to LL. Being able to trade the gems for goods could definitely appeal to some and possibly increase participation in the game. For me, it would depend upon the quality of said goods as I'm one of those that tried the game but just was not really interested in running around gathering glytches just for the heck of it.
  24. I use Firestorm and the status that I see depends on the other's Preferences setting. I have an alt that is not on my Friends list. If her Preferences have checked "Only friends and groups know I'm online", then her profile always shows 'offline' to me whether or not she blocked me. If she unchecks that box, then her profile showed 'online' to me even after she blocked me.
