I am glad to hear you say that Peggy,i have always felt that way about MP and SL, SL is a virtual world, warts and all. All MP is to me is a way for LL to tax sales which they cannot do on SL. As for the OP one cannot automatically appear in search ,search has always been screwed, i never found my shop in search for about a year,i tried the classifieds a couple of times , then by magic i appeared in search and have been in a good position ever since. I tried those things you can buy that are supposed to help you move up in search but they did'nt work for me As for lag, that depends where one has a shop, i have a homestead so i have no lag at all, the worse place is Mainland and Zindra, i find Zindra hopeless,i will not go there and mainland is frustrating waiting for stuff to rez. Sorry if i am repeating stuff ,i have'nt read the other posts, no time right now I just wanted to tell Peggy i agree 100% ,people find it too easy to shop on MP, i mean after all one does;nt have to go into SL to shop,i'ts a bl**dy 3d world, thats what you do. Anyway all i see MP as is a way for LL to extract more money from every sale, i"m sure it has hurt their inworld land sales because who needs a store inworld when one can open a shop on MP and just pay a percentage of sales, very cheap way to have a shop.

If it is in SL and not MP then you are seeing affiliate products, many creators offer affiliate programs and split the sales. Many hair creators do that as well as clothing creators

All my avatars include everything seen but the hair, i do enclose a hair but not the one used for display purposes I also enclose a note card with a link to where they can purchase the hair shown( and the name of the hair) if they would like to look exactly like the avy display picture.

You do what i did, put a bad review in your picks in your profile. Whenever that merchants name is searched, your bad review also comes up in search because you have his name in your bad review, I had numerous people contact me who had the same problem i had with that vendor asking if i ever did hear from him , and some thanking me because they decided not to buy after seeing my review in search It was a huge yacht i had bought and many parts were missing, i tried for months to contact the vendor without any luck. Well i'm confused. i saw the grid status about inworld search not working and the posts here so i check search inworld, works fine, i checked where my shop was and it's still where it was. I use phoenix so i don't know whats going on, i checked the grid status and it has'nt been updated. But search works for me

" It is confusing So as long as i am the creator, then i can list something in DD as no copy, if i am not the creator then i cannot list an item in DD as no copy I assume thats how it goes

i have some furniture on MP (DD) and it is marked trans only and it works ok, i just did a test delivery, all the furniture is listed as no copy no mod, trans only

I guess i am one of the lucky ones, my store ID is 23294. I have had no issues at all, my migration to DD went well, i had a few issues getting rid of unassociated items but in the end i got rid of them all. I don't sell a lot on MP, (most of my sales are inworld,) part of my items is full avatars and when i searched avatars i went through a few pages of 36000 odd and did'nt see them so i decided to start from the back and found my avatars there. Hopefully i won't have any issues, i check my store items every day and they stay constant. Relevence must be corrected because i just sold a dress the other day and it showed up in first position in my store

Correction, homesteads only have 3750 prims not 7500, but i do wish they did

I had a problem a while back where i would log in and my friends list did not list my friends, the land info was blank, it did not show prims left or traffic or anything, my radar (phoenix) did not show a person in front of me. This was intermittent but mostly it happened, I had installed a new router because my old one had given up, i never thought the new router was the problem untill i bypassed the router and plugged the cable directly into the modem. I logged in a few times and everything was ok, so i bought a more expensive router ( the other new one was one i had sitting around for a couple of years) so with the new router everything was ok and has been ok ever since

I removed about 192 magic box items from my unassociated list last night. i usually check about 10 or 15 boxes then go to the bottom and choose delete, sometimes it goes sometimes you have to refresh and try again, but i removed them all that way

Good idea Kenbro, my store seems ok,i check it everyday , so far no one else products are in mine, if they were i would surely contact the owner. But a list would be good in case some can't be identified

i have the latest Phoenix, i did a clean install before i downloaded it,i have used phoenix and emerald before that. Only problem i have with this latest version is the sky and sea flashes black every once in a while,never had this happen before. Firestorm is ok but i much prefer phoenix I never crash with this latest Phoenix

As for myself i dis agree that if one was 2 weeks old they knew about xstreet,i never ever used xstreet in all the years i have been on SL and i don't think xstreet was in anyway as popular as MP is today, LL promotes MP to new users and it becomes their place to shop, so right away they are indoctrinated into MP. Yes many new users in awe of all that is Sl will shop inworld but i would guess that eventually they would start using MP because it easier to use than going from shop to shop inworld and waiting for things to rez.

I agree, as for myself i am 100% believer in inworld shopping, warts and all, it's a shame the mainland is so laggy,. I have a homestead and offer my customers a lag free shop to browse in I remember posting long ago as a few others did who forsaw the effects of MP on inworld shopping.( as one person called it "LL s dirty little secret") Might as well call it like it is, a total taxation on our sales. Inworld LL cannot get any cut of any of our sales, i have no idea how much they make off MP but there are thousands of sales going on there and at 5% a sale (and enhancements) i'm sure they make a lot,whether it makes up for the land lost to those who decide not to have an inworld shop but have a free shop on MP, i don't know i put all my time into my inworld shop, yes i am on MP but i don't get much from it,i refuse to pay enhancements, the times i did, it did'nt help me one bit., 95% of my income comes from inworld sales. Inworld i am in a fairly good position in search,i never used to be,i could never find my shop but after taking out classifieds a couple of times and paying more than i got back, i suddenly appeared in search and have been there ever since. I have tried those tools you can get to improve your search position but they did 'nt help, taking out the classifed seemed to do the trick, But in the end we are all to blame,as long as we all list on MP it will take away inworld shoppers so we have no one but ourselves to blame. When i have the oportunity to get an MP customer into my shop for offers i have, i mention about LL "taxing" every sale, they are surprised by that and say they will come inworld to my shop and buy direct.( i do not solicit then to do that, i mention about LL charging 5% and it is their offer) As for me i have always been against MP, it is just an LL tool to get more money from us, if that is not true then why do they "tax" every sale, no, MP is just a way to control commerce and why LL puts all their efforts into MP (even though it works like crap) I remember when i first came on SL 5 years ago,all i did was shop, i spent so much time shopping, flittering around buying furniture,clothes, horses,boats, i had a lovely time.that is what SL is, a 3d world, now they go on a website and to me that takes away the experience of what secondlife is.

I had'nt given direct delivery any thought untill yesterday, i heard about it but thought it was something LL was doing , anyway i decided to watch torleys videos and realized really fast i did have to do something. So yesterday i migrated my 5 magic boxes over and all went very well for me, luckily all my pics and prices are as they should be. But that blo**y Marketplace is hopeless trying to edit anything, i am surprised my migration went so well, i only hope customers are able to use it, i have 'nt sold a thing for days, not that i sold a lot anyway. I rely on my inworld store, i make more there than MP, if i get a bite on MP, well thats nice but i don't depend on it. it's free so thats good. I just think MP has ruined the amount of people who shop inworld,yes lots still do but the amount who do is grossly less than if MP did'nt exist

Thank you Maso, that did the job, works very well, i can have the little radar box same as the phoenix one Just found out that the 'People" tab brings up the radar box ( i'm using the phoenix skin)

The latest phoenix looks good, i tried the latest firestorm but it is missing one thing that i love about phoenix and that is the radar, previous versions did have it a while back but i don't see it on this version. I like the radar for many reasons, mainly because my shop is 3000 ft up and when i m on the island below i can see if anyone is in the shop, also when i am out shopping with my partner and we get separated i can tele right to her or see how far away she is from me. I have grown so used to using the radar it is a feature i would be lost without, i would love to try the new firestorm but as there is no radar i will stay with phoenix. If firestorm does have a radar i would appreciate someone advising where it is

Yes i see what you mean about the scripts,i went on with my alt and a script sizable skirt, i could not resize it below about 70FT and after that i could, and of course in the shop i could, Thanks for the info , at least i know now, but how he could rez that cube i really don't know, i suppose i should have had some patience and asked him how he did it

It did happen as he said because i was right beside him when he did it,he rezzed a large white cube and sat on it,at that point i was 'nt too happy because obviously he was doing something other than was allowed by the land restrictions. And he definately was not in our island group I have heard of people having strange scripts that do things, also in this guys profile it said he was made custom scripts . Also i realize what you said about scripts not working past a certain distance, that would be true as in my island security system it is only good up to certain distances, but a script in the shop is there even tho it is 3000ft up,if not then all the vendors would not work,scripts in rotating cubes world not work, My jet would not work at 3500+ ft, so i am not sure what you mean about scripts not working at 3000ft, i have a race track at 2500ft and scripts work fine there So if i turn off scripts, no one can run any unless in the group

You could be right about the scripts above a certain height, but how could he rez a cube in a no build area, he called it a security leak I just went up with my alt and i could not rez a cube or drop a box from my inventory
