Hi Emma I was a phoenix hold out, i love the non mesh version,it's a fast rezzer and i could care less about mesh. But i also knew sooner or later i had to make a change,because there is no support for Phoenix anymore,,,someone mentioned cool viewer and i love it. It's very much the same as the old SL 1.23 viewer with the silver skin it is a mesh viewer and pretty well the same as phoenix. Firestorm is unstable according to the phoenix / firestorm team, you can read about it on their website. It's because of some change coming from LL to SSB (server side bake",i'm not sure if cool viewer is up to speed on that or not, but firestorm is redoing their viewer but the probs you can read about on their website. When this SSB "switch" is flicked and one does nt have an updated viewer avys will look a little weird, you can view that on the phoenix / firestorm website As for why you look like that i will let other more knowlegable people answer you,i just wanted to let a fellow phoenix viewer lover know there is another like it out there

There is also the begging bots, i was at a hair shop not long ago and i did'nt see the sign on the wall about begging bots. One contacted me and was saying no one wanted to bother with her cos she was ugly and new blah, blah, she asked for 100L i actualy felt sorrow for her and gave her 100L, i saw on my radar she was 0 days old. I saw her teleport out and then i saw the sign, i went to check the bots profile and it did'nt exist. So now i am very weary of o day old avys who might give me a sob story

I agree Peggy, i remember many years ago when i joined SL, all i did was shop, shop ,shop, i loved telporting to all the different shops, looking at all the wonderful things that we now take for granted. I shopped for clothes, skins, shapes, my first venture was to make myself beautiful, then i looked for land to rent with a house. I bought jets skis, helecoptesr and on and on. There was xstreet at that time but i never went near it, i was in SL and thats where i wanted to shop. Now many years later i have huge shop on my homestead, Lets face it, LL pulled off a really good money making situation, they can't "tax" inworld sales, and that is what it is, a tax on every sale, and they make millions. I suppose it's good for some merchants, well many i guess, they don' t have to pay rent for a shop , just 5% on every sale, they don t have to buy or rent land. And all the merchants flocked to MP, now LL makes millions off it while inworld shopping dwindles down, . A friend of mine came on SL for the first time since a year ago last Dec, one of the first things she said was " whats happened to SL" many of the shops she had LM s for were gone. Also. i see LL put a "shop" button linking the SL viewer right to MP, how nice of them, its screw the inworld merchant, every new person joining SL gets indoctrinated to MP right away. But i also know new people to SL do like to shop in SL,because we get a lot of new avys to our shops. Anyway i guess it all does'nt matter, LL will do what they want. I have my shop inworld and i will always have one, its my hobby, i love puttering around in it, i think i have changed it dozens of times.

Many shops gave up paying rent for land and got a free shop on MP, another cash cow for LL. Inworld shopping has dropped drastically

What works for me is Make a folder, put everything in there, skin, shape, clothes, shoes (everything you want to wear) Then right click on the folder and choose " replace outfit" Everyhting will go on you Character tests never worked for me

I have always had premium, going on 5 years now,but i have decided to downgrade. I am paying 72US a year and the only benefit i get is the 300L every tuesday. I have no need for a premium account, there is no benefit, I have rented homesteads for almost 5 years now. The only other benefit to me is support tickets, but i have never found them too be fruitfull

I live on a homestead, there are just 2 of us that live there,,that being said i have no lag at all. I use the phoenix non mesh viewer 1185, i find it rezzes things much faster and no lag Whenever i have the need to use firestorm to upload to MP or any other reasons, i find it very laggy when i walk and things rez so much slower. I have tried the mesh phoenix but it is a slow rezzer too.. I have 2 flags that wave in the breeze, with phoenix (1185) they flap normally, with firestorm they move in 2 second incruments, in other words it stops for 2 sec between each flap, thats how laggy i find firestorm. Just my observations

I have a laptop with a nvidia card, had it about 3 years now. What i find in my SL experience is this I have homestead, my love and i have a our house on the island, we have a shop 3000 ft up, it is a huge shop,a full sim size, actually it is made up of multiple shops, we have a race track lower down, a full sim size, we race our cars with absolutely no lag, the only blip we get is if someone teles into the shop but it is minor. As for lag it is something we never experience, but if i go to mainland i find it very laggy, we gave up on going to Zindra ,it was like walking in mud there. Every time we go to mainland i just cannot understand how people can stand all the lag, i could not put up with it. Our homestead is lag free and that is my SL experience, just watch, now i said that it will prob be laggy. Our shop iis not a busy shop, usually no more than 2 at a time, and my love and i stay to ourselves on our island so avy lag is'nt an issue for us. Right after that main server update yeaterday after i logged in, i got bad rubber banding for a short period of time bur that cleared up, but usually right after they do a server update we do sometimes experience a prob of some sort, usually its logging in and being ruthed, so we keep a folder with everything in and wear that.

I know some merchants are doing well on MP, myself, i feel like a needle lost in a haystack. I think among other reasons, LL shot themselves in the foot with their desire to tax every sale on MP, they offer a free shop with low cost enhanvements to get merchants to open a shop on MP. It worked very well, now there are so many merchants listing on MP, and don t need land, so thousands have given up renting shops, or buying regions . Yes some do well on SL , but for the average shop owner who cant afford to pay hundreds of dollars a week to be high in classifieds, business is slow with too many shopping on MP. Yes it is easier to shop there (MP), no traveling around from region to region and no lag. LL should get back to what they are,,a virtual world, and i know this won't be popular with many MP merchants, but they need to dump MP and conscentrate on what they originally started out to do, run a virtual wourld, also lower land tier so many can afford it

I have had a couple of Character test failures, Twice after LL did restarts i logged in and was "ruthed" nothing i did could get me back to normal. Trying to wear Current outfit would not work either Finally i read if one makes up a folder, puts a shape and skin and all you want to wear then right click the folder and choose "replace outfit" everything goes on. That how i have had to resolve it when character test would not work. I'm on Phoenix by the way As for being an egg, might be diferent. I fired up an old computer i ran SL on with an intel chip, i was an egg when i logged in, i did 'nt worry about it as i was'nt using that computer . But i do know what you mean about being an egg, i assumed it was because my chip could nt handle SL very well

I have found 751x509 to be best for me, SL will resize it when you upload it and it should reduce to how you might like it,i use this size for classified ads and my profile you can resize it in gimp or whatever program you use

I agree, land tier is high, and to have land and put a shop on is'nt worth it anymore because too many shop on MP, Anyway that being said, i'm sure you will think twice before speaking your mind on here again, not that i am giving you any advise,i read your post then read the following ones and saw you were being jumped upon by most, very negatively . I have all but given up posting any thoughts on here,i got sick and tired of people's negative comments, it's ok to disagree but many do it in an insulting way.,They even insult the way you say something. I understand what you are saying and i agree, it's just too bad other worlds are not as advanced a SL,land is much cheaper with 3 times the prims

Hope it's soon, they did mine about an hour ago and i could'nt get back on for over half an hour. I finally got on and some vendors are repeating they can't connect with servers, my mysti hud telports don't work, Thats all i noticed right now

I have tried a few teleporter for my shop and they all seem to do the same thing which makes them very unreliable. Sometimes they put you in the room you want but most times you land there then you wind up on the sim edge. I just bought another one on MP,i set it up and same thing,i teleport to the destination then wind up on the sim edge The teleporter i need has to have multiple destinations because my shop is a sim size with many smaller shops. I just don't seem to find any that are reliable. Does anyone use a shop teleporter that has multiple destination that you know is reliable Thanks My shop is 3000ft up but i am teleporting within the height

I have my own clothing line as well as skins and avatars. I also have 5 different affiliate vendors,the only problem with affiliate vendors i find is, they get over exposed in SL, i remember one affiliate i have i seemed to see everywhere i went in SL. I find sales very slow from them and i think it is because of this overexposure. people have seen the products over and over. I have just opened my avatar collection to an affiliate program, so we will see how it goes. I do think affiliate vendors are good, i like them, you can sell things you would normally never have the time to make. But as has been said, MP is killing inworld sales.maybe thats why concurrency declines,,,,when i came on SL there was no MP, there might have been X Sreet but i never used it. but i went shopping for stuff to furnish my house, helecopters, jet skis etc, the point being i did' nt go to some website to buy stuff ,i was in SL travelling around from shop to shop,thats what SL is, people opening up shops inworld, not some silly website, no wonder people get bored with SL, they shop on MP then get bored cos there is nothing to do in SL.

I sell a lot of non mesh clothes, i do have some mesh but not much, i really care less about mesh and i really don't understand the rush to make all mesh clothes, it's a trend that almost seems to go backwards instead of forwards in fashions. Mesh almost seems like an early version of fashion in SL,,,,,,,,,can't make it to fit an avatar properly so you have to have different size avatars to make it fit,or you have to adjust that beautifull avatar you bought or made special for yourself to fit the mesh clothes.,,,,then fashion progressed to non mesh and clothes fit an avy properly without having to change your shape to fit the clothes, i just don't see the logic with mesh fashions myself.,,it seems like a step backwards. Not to mention, that to me and others with non mesh viewers, mesh looks a little silly, people walking around with blocks on their feet for shoes, or strange looking things hanging off their body. There is a club we go to and the girls all dress very sexy and skimpy and mesh is almost non existent there with non mesh fashions, tops fit skin tight and look sexy, skimpy sexy clothes fit your avy, you do not have to change your avy to fit them, mesh just seems like a step backwards and its a shame that designers think they have to jump on the band wagon and make mesh, S&N Adorable skins & Fashions

I don't know what other shop do but i have two rooms of mesh clothing,the only thing in those rooms is mesh,nothing else. The rooms are clearly marked,also all the mesh displays are clearly marked

I just don't understand traffic at all,it makes no sense, i have a large shop on a homestead, actually my shop is more like a mall made up of individual shops which contain my creations and also affliate shops which are all mine and not rented out. My traffic count should be around 6000 if individual teleports were counted but as i understand it they calculate the amount of time an avy spends there to calculate traffic numbers. As i said my actual count of raw visits should be around 6000 or more, the highest i have seen it is almost 1000 a couple of weeks ago , now it is down to 410, it was down to 300 odd the other day. As for search, there was a time i could never find myself in search, i put in a ticket and all they said to do was leave space after the comma in the keywords. LL was no help at all and i truly believe they do not care about free search because there is no money in it,some pay upwards of $800 US a week for classifieds and then from the highest it trickles down but they make a huge amount of money from classifieds,so why should they care about free search. I took out a classified for a while and bingo ,i appeared in search, 1st place in one keyword, about 3rd for another, but lesser in others but i am fairly close to top,.and it has remained constant even though i have no classified anymore,although i do take one out for a week every once in a while. Classifieds do work but i usually just make back what i spent on the classified ,so in the end it's not worth it

Well it's nice to see others who think as i do, i do not like mesh,it might have it's place for making monster type avys or cars and such, but i do not understand why everything has to go mesh. Whats the point, the clothes all look like they are from a RL dept. store catalogue, very conservative. Regular tops fit skin tight and look sexy, mesh tops are loose. In my travels in SL for 6 years or so, i can say females in SL like to look sexy , when we go to a club, the girls all dress in sexy clothes, not conservative dresses. I am a shop owner, i have my own line of clothing, and i will not be making any mesh, i am also an affliate for a couple of clothing lines and it seems all designers are making now are mesh clothes now,i just do not understand the point of every thing going mesh. If anything it will drive those of us who do not like mesh to seek out other non mesh worlds to cont. to sell our fashions I have never worn mesh clothes and don't intend to, i also have the non mesh phoenix viewer , i find the mesh phoenix viewer to be a poor rezzer, so all i see when people wear mesh is silly block feet and things hanging off them. I also make and sell skins and shapes, i am extremely particular how i look, i do not and will not change my shape to fit clothes as one has to do with mesh,as i said i do not understand this rush to mesh everything, the old non mesh clothes fit so much better

I can t log in either, i have been trying since 8am eastern, never had this happen before,its very annoying when your partner is in world and you can converse with them. Is there any system where youcan message someone inworld at times like this. I read where one of the posters could log in with an alt so i tried that, i could log in no problem with my alt, , which does my no good cos my main avy has all my right to run my store.hopefully iy will be corrected
