  1. I was an English Professor until health issues arose that required me to be able to remain home much of the time. Now I'm a freelance writer/editor for software/tech companies as well as taking the odd editing job that varies subject wise.
  2. My baby daughters Lorelai and Wednesday. Earlier we ventured over to my sister's residential sim to check up on things so thought I would snap a photo of them watching the ducks on the pond. ❤️
  3. Our sweet, adorable, and beautiful Maya with her Winnie the Pooh in the first photo ❤️. Over this past summer we added our lovely, petite and dainty twins Mina and Maggie to the family in the second photo who are fully grown at 5 pounds each ❤️. All three my babies. 🥰
  4. My fondest memory in Belli is my family and I were fortunate enough to get one of the first waves of traditional homes when Bellisseria first opened on my old account. It was the first home my husband I shared together in SL that we considered "ours". It was where we bonded as a family and my husband adopted my zooby daughter Wednesday. ❤️ The memory of my husband getting his boathouse after waiting over a year for one to become available. He was thrilled and I was so happy for him. We both love sailing and it has offered us beautiful waters to explore when the mood strikes. Shortly after my husband got his boathouse, we agreed to give up the traditional house for a log cabin. The environment and house styles suited our needs better than the traditional. I was surprised and thankful because we were fortunate enough to get a cabin right by water and beautiful setting. We've been there ever since. This past Autumn my alt got one of the fantasy homes because hubby and I both started wanting to roleplay again. The small fantasy house we got has spurred us forward in that plan and it has been so much fun. We also decided to adopt our zooby daughter Lorelai in that house adding to our little family. My sisters come over quite a bit and we just have an all around lovely time. In all of these settings we take walks, bike ride, horse back ride, roller skate, sail and simply explore as a family nowadays. We rarely have to leave Bellisseria unless it is to go work with my sister, to go shopping, to go to a particular event or out dancing. Or when we want to explore, take photos and blog. Bellesseria was originally going to be a place where I tried venturing out my wall flower state to try and meet new people. I became less receptive to that over time, but I don't regret that decision for a moment since it allowed me to create some lovely memories with my family. Even when I had to take time off from SL over this past summer and most of the Autumn because of a rl move, I loved that Belli was there waiting for me when we were able to return. Bellisseria has been such a positive and life changing experience in our Second Life. It's wonderful!
  5. Maeve Binchy was an incredible writer! I agree heartily. All of the above you mentioned are beautifully written. Once you get through those, Circle of Friends, Silver Wedding and The Lilac Bus are wonderful too. Her characters have so many layers. They are rich and varied. I love how she can make it so easy to love, hate and be repulsed by her characters all at the same time depending on the story or book. That takes talent. Out of all the books I read of Binchy's, I still love Circle of Friends best. Benny is still my all time favorite Binchy character. She is endearingly sweet along with her bestfriend Eve. I'll be quiet now. I got carried away a bit. I love that you found her! She is a gem.
  6. Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy. I was 16 years old when I first read and completely fell in love with this book. Barely reading it for a second time in my forties. It is even better than i remember.
  7. My horse Yule and I taking some time to explore more of Bellisseria and how it is constantly growing. This is nearby the location of our fantasy home.
  8. In real life, I moved to the UK in 2021 to be with my hubby as well as marrying him in sl. In 2022, I'll be planning my wedding in rl as well as getting married to that wonderful man. ❤️
  9. Our sweet princess Wednesday loved the little presents that were waiting under the tree for her this year. ❤️
  10. I really never think of Second Life as playing a game. I've been away from Second Life until quite recently, but SL is the only virtual world I am in. I do play World of Warcraft though and have consistently for almost 13 years. I also enjoy the Sims 3 and 4 when I get the chance. Besides that I'm involved in a large sewing and knitting online community, read, blog and fix up cabbage patch dolls that are second hand during my spare time. That's about it.
  11. For the first time in months I got to be in Second Life. To explore Snowhaven Creek. Blessed Yuletide and a bright New Year ahead to all.
  12. Time with my most handsome hubby... in Belli.❤
  13. I've always loved trying to put together an avatar as cheaply as I can. It's fun. I love fashion. One account I have is for this purpose. Below is Flora whose look cost a total of 1L. She isn't perfect, but I really love how she turned out.
  14. My pet peeve just for now is that my precious floof ball cat keeps stealing things out of my luggage I keep trying to pack for her and I since our move to the UK is this next week. So I pack it and she tries to pull them out and place them all over quite messily before climbing into the suitcase herself. She isn't making this easy, but I wouldn't have my sweetie any other way.
  15. I've been fully vaccinated three weeks now. I didn't get any side effects or symptoms besides a sore arm each time. Best decision I made. I was so happy I didn't sleep the night before each shot. Felt like receiving a gift. It's always nice to know there are things I can do to help others and myself not get sick. Especially during times of uncertainty.
  16. "All truth is a shadow except the last, except the utmost; yet every truth is true in its kind." -Isaac Penington 1653 (From Quaker Faith and Practice. Always one of the quotes I come across while studying that really makes me think.)
  17. It has been awhile, but found some time for sailing and boating in Bellisseria the last few days with my husband.
