my point was why use what was already made by someone else. learn and create your own, in what ever manner it means. and yes it takes some time to learn 3-d modeling and to get good at it. you can have just as much fun learning to create the items yourself as using someone elses work and tinkering with it. time is not money to everyone, time is time.. its only money if you plan on trying to sell it.. even then it takes an investment in time to learn new skills and should not just be discouraged because its easier to use something someone else already made. why copy-paste from someone else when you can have the experience of making it yourself and the feelings of satisfaction that can give to some people. but at the same time you dont have to worry what anyone else thinks about your work as your learning. you dont need outside validation if it makes you happy. who cares if anyone else thinks its shoddy work at first. you keep trying until it looks how you want, not how someone else thinks it should look. why settle for one aspect, why not try it all and figure out what you are good at and even maybe try and improve what you are not good at. its the journey that matters, not always the end results. it sounds like you are a little self judgmental and worry what others will say about your work when you shouldn't be if your just doing it for fun.

the point is.. why pay for something if you can make it yourself and have complete control over it at that point. and the skills learned from making the original item can be used for other things later down the road. make your own avatar, car, house, boat..etc.. become your own creator and sell your items.. yes learning skinning and texturing is important but that can all be learned while using blender as well. And you dont need photoshop.. you could use a free program like krita or gimp to do most the same things that photoshop can. part of spending the time is the journey of learning something new that may lead to other things over time. its not a waste of time if you learn something new. why be lazy and just use what is already made by someone else. why pay someone else for their work and not try and learn to do it yourself instead. the example above was just lowpoly plants for quick simple use in a larger scene with little impact on rendering time.

I think it was either an internet add or a tv add that lured me here back then. I was also a member of imvu but not entirely impressed with it. or maybe it was something someone said on irc.. I dont really remember.

well there is one way but its not exactly what you might want or be expecting. If you have a webcam or microphone hooked up to your computer you could just play the music in the background through your speakers and have the microphone pick it up and broadcast through sl voice. No special configuration required. But as was stated doing this on any sim/parcel but your own may get you ar'd and then kicked/banned for being disruptive. or you could setup and use a shoutcast server to stream music to your parcel/sim if you have one. or you could setup a dj software program to stream to your parcel/sim such as one of these but doing it directly over voice on any sim not yours may get you reported because it can be seen as griefing.

Well... for me I dont really care. I have a human form but for the most part I have been a dragon almost my entire 11 years in sl. Got my first dragon avatar within a week of starting sl. humans are well crunchy and taste good with ketchup..

your welcome, a lot of times that may be the problem the router is overloaded and having problems or it has a faulty dns and is having problems. restarting it usually clears up this problem.

it could be network lag on your end. or maybe a problem with your isp. which no one here could help you with. have you tried resetting/restarting your modem/router to see if this has any effect?

you might have been suspended for breaking tos and reported for doing so. contact ll directly with a support ticket. you will have to wait and it can sometimes take more than a week or two before you hear back from them about what was done or can be done or why.

1. No. for everyone is different in how they communicate. some think all uppercase is yelling. I personally dont see it as such. 2. Either, i adapt to the person i am with. Its not important how it looks, what is important is what is being communicated. If I can read it and understand what was meant by it that is all that matters.

i know about oc im in their main group and their r&d group. but even with oc it lacks a lot of things that other rp huds.. sex huds.. body huds have. i have PA.. and OC collar, and ~Silenced~ whim hud, then my body hud, then my emdash hud, then my sin-t hud, then an ao and then an expression hud for the body I use that is separate from the main body hud. plus oc does not have things like combat or damage or health support in their collar. its a fairly limited system. so if I want that I have to add another hud for that.

a few simple examples there are lots more out there.

while this is true it does give someone a good starting point to begin at. learning the basics of using blender can help. And it can even make using the inworld building tools easier too, for what is learned for blender with a little reflection can be turned inward for inworld game editing.

Hey everyone want to create your own assets for use in sl, such as a unique avatar, or unique house or clothes or other items. Well you can either buy premade items which might fit what you want or you could make them yourself and then have all the power and control over how they look and feel and what they can do. A great way of doing this is using something like blender to create the items and then import them in to sl. Have little or no skills 3-editing and making things. well there are lots of tutorials out there that can help you learn. such as this one so dont give up and just accept something from the mp. be different, be unique, make it yourself and save yourself the lindens. it may seem hard or impossible or daunting at first but so does just about any new project started. Just keep trying and learning and soon you will have a secondlife that is truly your own.

peeve.. there is no one-all be-all do-all rlv-body-sex-rp-hud.. you have to have several types on to do what you want. come on people where is your lord-of-the-rings spirit. one hud to find them.. one hud to bind them.. one hud to rule them all!!!

the only real concern is if it will be mandatory or optional. i for one would like to see it implemented in sl its been far to long that a service like sl has not had it to begin with. any service that deals with rl information or payment information should have 2fa by default.. to protect its users.

no. 2fa is about privacy and protection of your account from hacking, but yes with 2fa they can have other ways to now track who you are by what device/app/method you use for 2fa.

two factor authentication aka 2fa. usually uses a captcha or authenticator app to confirm you are the person logging in. it can be just a extra question or it can be a call/text to a phone.. or an email with a link that has to be clicked each time. google authenticator is one such app. only the user who sets it up has access to the code it gives, making it very hard to spoof or hack an account with it active.
