  1. Not sure yet. Haven't been awake very long. - Working from home? Something I'll be doing after lockdown/stay-home ends. - Handshakes? Sure, they can be nice except when they hurt your hand. I'd rather not participate.
  2. When creating/customizing yourself, it's not uncommon to spend what you did, and so much more. For example, go with Legacy, Catwa, and a skin that's compatible with your body and head, and you're spending easily L$15,000 or more, JUST on the body. But, it's worth it in my opinion, because you end up looking far more human/realistic, and you match. Take it slow.
  3. You want to start an SL business? Here's what you'll need: 1. Product - What exactly will you be doing? Being an affiliate store for a preexisting business such as X-Core, ADN, or another that has affiliate vendors? Or, will you make your own meshes? If so, you'll need to learn how to properly make mesh items. Then, you need to decide if you'll make them for male or female avatars. THEN, you'll need to decide if you'll make meshes for one specific body, or multiple bodies. What works for one body won't work for another. Will you need scripting? It's recommended, but not required, depending. Will the item be bento rigged? Again, not required, but recommended. 2. Marketplace and/or Vendors - Will you sell your items on Marketplace, and/or in a physical vendor? Keep in mind that sales on Marketplace will tax you a certain amount of the earnings if buying price exceeds a certain amount, unless that's been changed. But, uploading products is free. However, you can go the more costly route and have a proper inworld store if you use a system such as Casper or others, but the standard is Casper from what I've seen. Of course, going inworld will require land. 3. Business name and group - Not the number one most important item, but it's absolutely in the top 5 of things you'll need/want to even get started. What's in a name? Alot of things, and all things have one. 4. Land - You'll need a physical location won't you? Gotta make sure you have enough prims for the vendors, storefront, etc.. 5. A store building - Don't skimp on quality. You want it to be attractive to your ideal clientele, otherwise they may not want to return. You also want it to be spacious to a point. Be reasonable here. 6. Linden/L/L$ - The single most important thing you will need to get started. But, why is it so far down the list? Because you won't fully know how much you'll need until you're finished gathering the pieces. It isn't cheap to get started. 7. Advertising - Probably the second most important thing on the list, other than L$. Who are you? Do you even exist? Is your business appealing? Are YOU appealing? Even if you build it, they won't come. They won't come, because they probably won't know it exists unless its' been advertised. Here's an example scenario to consider: Person1 Resident: "Who is this Domm69 person? Do they have a business and/or product?" Person2 Resident: "I'm not sure, I haven't seen anything about them. Must be some random." Person3 Resident: "Wait, I've seen their work. They do have a business and/or product. Wanna check it out?" Persons 1 and 2 Resident: "We hadn't. O_O Sure, I guess we can. Got an LM/TP?" VS Person1 Resident: "Who is this Domm69 person? I've seen them advertised around the grid." Person2 Resident: "I'm not sure, but we can go check them out if you want." Person3 Resident: "Alright, lets go. I've heard they have quality things. I saw them on a board the other day."
  4. The head always comes first. Though, in my taste, if it's not bento, don't even apply.
  5. Hopefully the name change addition is permanent, so when I can afford it, I can switch to a shorter name that also isn't "Resident"
  6. Interesting. I've never seen seams, except when deforming or when my hands and feet sometimes decide to be a random color.
  7. Just to clarify, I'm not defending the price in the least. Nor am I defending TMP.
  8. That's not entirely true. It doesn't cost L$5000 if you get the "upgrades" in a set timeframe. They even say they cut the price in half if you already own the body.. Granted, I won't be buying the pregnancy and perky variations, at least not yet, but it's understandable to a point. Especially when you realize how much each mesh upload costs. For example, i once made a mesh thing that cost almost L$200 to upload. It's understandable why people are upset, but at the same time, it's understandable why TMP doesn't do what Maitreya and the others do. At least, from that aspect. Plus, you pay for quality. I've had SLink, Maitreya, and now I have Legacy. SLink was okay, Maitreya was better (though you get shelf-butt if your shape is too far out of the "norm"), and Legacy is by far (for one, if you don't go crazy and turn the slider up to 100 or so and get shelf-butt anyway) in my eyes. Though, on the flip side, L$5000+skin+clothes... your L$ wallet's going to be feeling that one for a while.
  9. Honestly, I don't have an answer for how I am today. A slight headache, but, other than that, existing in this dystopian reality we call 2020. Bored and waiting to get started with what I'm wanting to do, since a certain pandemic seems to want to take its time going away.
  10. Sounds alot like social anxiety to me. Yay, one of us. One of us. lol I'm kidding, that isn't a yay situation. It's a rough, and harsh one. I've been around longer than some, and not nearly as long as others, and I have to say, it does get easier. Slowly. With the right people. Sure, there are those in this virtual world that only want to destabalize things, but, there are alot of positive, upbeat people as well. While I admittedly don't understand how people can be so radiantly positive, it's a welcome sight. Even if it does confuse the living pixels out of me. lol Just be yourself. You don't have to "fit in" with any crowd. Least of all do you [or should you] conform to any crowd. If you do, you could eventually lose sight of yourself. Besides, standing out is way more fun. Take it from me. Someone that looks like an elf most of the time, wears random [often at least slightly inappropriate] clothes, creates, is learning Blender, and takes great pride in standing out from the crowd. You have to take everything in stride, and remember that you are your own worst enemy and biggest critic in alot of cases. As for staying to yourself, same is same. I've been here for going on 5 years and I rarely ever go anywhere when I'm not working. My house is my empire, and my room is my castle (I live with another friend) and in my castle, if I don't desire it, nobody else gets in. To clarify, my room is inside another room, behind a bookshelf. It's a Red Queen house, so, go figure. Anyway, getting off topic. My honest advice is this. 1. Take it slow. Most of the SL community at large is pretty nice and understanding. At least, from my experience. 2. Don't just jump into things. You have to ease into things. Find a friend or two, go to a quiet cozy little club, listen to some music, rather it be Jazz, Country (a personal favorite), Rock, Metal, or whatever else (though try to keep it to calming music at first) and just breath. 3. Remember that you can return to your bubble to decompress and/or escape at any given time. Nobody's going to force you (or at least, most won't) to be outside your comfort zone. 4. Most won't judge you. I'm willing to say that at least a fair percentage of us on SL have at least one disability of some form or another, rather it be mental, or physical. Despite that, despite whatever ailments we may or may not suffer from, while there are certainly those few toxic individuals, MOST of us won't judge. Rather it be because we ourselves know how it feels, or because of something else. 5. You won't be the best looking, and that's okay. Rather you have a Maitreya, Belleza, SLink, Legacy (though, personally, I do have a soft spot for Legacy), or whatever else, you won't be the best looking. Again, not something most will judge by. 6. SecondLife is what you make of it. SecondLife isn't really so much a game, as it is a virtual world, but even more than that, it's a digitized version of the world we all inhabit. Except that the cookies aren't ever burned, and the cake isn't a lie. Though, it is inedible. I usually like helping out and stuff, so, feel free to message me inworld if you want. I'm not going to bite your head off because of it.
  11. Preparing to people, at an auction, with a cyberpunk-esque vibe.
  12. To be honest... I'm slightly concerned, but, more annoyed. I'll explain. Sure, it's a global pandemic, and people are dying from it, and sure, we're all related to someone potentially succeptable, so, yeah, from that point, I'm concerned. But, what I'm more concerned about is being unable to get or have foodstuffs for my loved ones. That previous statement, coincidentally enough, is why I'm annoyed with it. I have a produce growing business type of thing to get up and running and I can't even order the equipment I need, to start, on Amazon because it's shut down except the essentials, and it's potentially a health hazard.
  13. Yes. Even if I do have a Snokra avi I sometimes use, when I want to embrace being agender and/or don't really feel like wearing clothing, due to being able to completely hide all identifying organs and other notifiers. However, most of the time I'm using my Legacy avi, whom is unmistakably female.
  14. Nice. I'll be able to make a band called Luna & The Moonstones. I wonder how much they cost. O_O As for this topic's discussion, voice freaks me out in general. I'd rather type. I can't always articulate very well, what I'm saying, in voice. So, text is far easier. For those that frown upon it, I don't understand why. Not like you're actually going to meet the person. Then again, I'm also paranoid. Yay anxiety. lol
  15. I can honestly say I've only been to Frank's once. Last time I went, if I remember right, I had to take my elf ears off. Kinda sad, but it is what it is. I'm surprised a place like that even still exists.
  16. Relaxing, tired of the world thinking it can keep me down. Fighting a war within myself as I contemplate things.
  17. Black. Because, simply, no other color will do.
  18. Contemplating taking my next steps, or going out and enjoying myself.
  19. Waiting for the time to come, to put my plans into motion, and debating showing myself in some places; knowing I'll get my fair share of attention. Also, thinking of what I want for dinner and feeling pleased with myself.
  20. Pretty much whatever's on Netflix. lol Though, I also need my Mandalorian fix.
  21. I hope it's early/mid-year. I'm not really overly fond of my legacy name. lol
