I got fed up with my Maitreya Lara body, looking at @Beq Janusnumbers, it is just a resource hog due to the alpha-cuts I guess. I tried the Slink Physique original, and I love it, it scores about 5th of the resources on Beq's numbers, but almost all (including Blueberry) have dropped it for some reason. I will not even consider a body with huge butt and boobs, I need something adult, but not 'curvy', and it needs to score low on Beq's. I am using the Slink for now, but no new clothes. What to do?

Ya, but I only looked 'cos I liked how the avatar looked. I'm not against Marketing, in fact it's essential to the way the world works, but I am against stopping me doing what I want to force-feed me info about a product I don't want. TV ads are like this, and should carry the death penalty, ditto hoardings and other invasive stuff. Find a way of using 'word of avatar' or equivalent. Warning: I am not consistent consistently.

I am a confirmed 'advert hater'. I find everything in SL by following up on both picks and checking what cute people are wearing. It's a great pity you can't snoop on the tattoos and other BoM stuff like you can attachments.

If you want to sell to me, YOU have to get my attention. I don't do searches, YOU do marketing. Most marketing, however, pisses me off so much that I will NEVER buy that stuff. Marketing is hard. Marketing does NOT equal Advertizing. I buy most of my clothes in SL by using a 'what's she wearing?' HUD on someone wearing something I like a lot. Then I get loyal to the brands I like. I also get a lot of 'where did you get that fabulous xyz' IMs. Word of mouth is the best publicity there is.

You are damned lucky if you can TP more than twice a minute without it locking up and needing a relog. LL broke TP about 3 years ago and it has never been reliable since, at least not with my kinda connection.

I look at the pictures of Robolox and think 'a little development, and that could overtake SL in realism'. Okay, I wouldn't use it today, but 2024? Maybe. With that income they can afford a lot of very good developers. Interesting what @animatssays about the boss.

I wrote a script to use RLVa to add clothes to my avi using a dialog to choose the folder. The script sits in a higher-level folder, and puts up a dialog of all the sub-folder names, when you choose one, it RLVa attaches the contents of that folder. It used to work well, but over the last year has got progressively unreliable. Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't do the dialog at all. Has something changed in SL or LSL that I've missed? Do I need a bigger delay somewhere because of asynchronisity? Or am I just a scrap programmer.... https://pastebin.com/iyChwp4H

Ummm.... do I really want to tell you this? Well okay... Promise not to tell anyone else! My then girlfriend, who was about 6 years older than me, had it, and signed me up (well under age), so we could go play with guys. Rather soon after that I convinced dad to get me a decent computer, and I decided I didn't need the girlfriend any more, in RL or here. Ya, I was a spoiled brat.

Still greyed, and ticked, even with RLV turned off. This is mystifying me, but not germane to this discussion, so I will stfu. EDIT: Actually it was RLV, but I didn't 'save' after unsetting RLV. Doh!

Alt-Shft-H is ticked, but greyed out for me, and all my HUDs are visible and working. Once upon a time I probably did something, but I have forgotten what it is. That's one of the huge issues with SL viewers, the HUGE number of interacting settings.

Okay, I looked and looked, but I gotta ask... Is my system really capable of doing all this without ANY time at all? And why is there all that overwriting scribble on top? (Archlinux 5.16.16, Cinnamon 5.2.7, Ryzen 7 2700X, 32Gb, GTX1080tx)

I often miss HUGE signs, although I never was attracted to gotchas. It all depends if you hang about to read signs that haven't rezzed yet or not. Waiting while the last texture in the shop (the HUGE warning sign) rezzes is just loopy.
