  1. I had one MP sale not report ANS yesterday but the rest did.
  2. Studio Max does the same thing and bringing the obj into Blender and then exporting the Collada from there fixes it.
  3. This happens to me quite a bit so what I do is direct them to my redelivery terminal in my mainstore. This saves me time trying to find names in my records and it confirms for the customer whether they actually did buy the item in the past or not. The terminal doesn't lie. And it redelivers when it is an actual customer.
  4. I'll tell you my story. I started making clothing in SL about 1.5 years ago - under my brand, Sweet Distractions. I started renting small shops and putting my products up on the marketplace once I had 5 products. In the beginning, I paid out more in rent than I was taking in to be honest but I felt it was the way to get my brand noticed so an accceptable expense. I tried to rent in high traffic areas but to be honest, those shops rarely paid for their own rent. I did this for about 8 months. By about the 3rd month, and about 60 products later, I was making enough through Marketplace to pay for a region so I opened my main store (bought it and set it up) and included my landmark in all of my boxes. People found me even though I'm not in a traffic area at all. I turn a decent profit and have ever since. I make 80 % of my sales on the Marketplace but I have noticed an increase in overall sales since opening the main store. My advice is to market your produccts (bloggers, website, social media, join events) until your Marketplace store pays for your land before opening your mainstore if money is an issue. Then, when you build it, they will come. Another option is to share land with other merchants. As for costs, I paid 2000 L for my actual store building and I pay $75 USD monthly for my land which I bought through Auction (mainland). Again, none of that is out of pocket. Best of luck!

Although it's true that one could easily add/wear apparrel to see what it looks like, the downside is that you need to have the appearance dialog open so you can undo changes after trying things on. Also rebaking and changing back takes a lot longer than opening & closing a static pic. Obviously, I keep those pics around to save time when I'm browing through less familiar corners of my closet (inventory). You're welcome (*giggle* Seriously, though, I have always included the image in my boxes/folders for the same reason. Inventories get a little overwhelmed quickly, don't they?

Sometimes the color looks weird and tinting it fixes it. For example, some hair stores sell a dark gray as black and if it isn't dark enough I like to be able to tint it darker to my liking. 3. For sculpted hairs, sometimes the strands clip in a weird place, or the bangs are longer than I'd like, etc.. and being able to modify the prims to either fix a clipping issue or just change the style slightly is really nice to be able to do. Yes, I can see that.... What about mesh hair? You can't modify them or move individual prims to change the style slightly, all it does is change color. And we tolerate it all because it's mesh... It isn't the merchant's choice to set rigged mesh hair to no modify. Even if it is set to modify, you cannot resize it with or without a script. That's the tradeoff for having hair that moves with the avatar. Always try the demo before buying rigged mesh hair. Now hair that is mesh but not rigged should be set to modify so that the customer can resize to their liking.
  7. I, for one, would be willing to pay for this feature.
  8. solstyse wrote: Mesh, by nature, can't be resized once it's uploaded.. We all wish it could. Not entirely true. Rigged mesh cannot be resized once uploaded. Non-rigged mesh can be. Use the stretch option in edit mode.
  9. Happy Holidays to everyone and (holds up her glass for a toast) here's to a new, wonderfully lucrative and creative year!
  10. You seem to write well, and diplomatically in your thread. If the review you left has a similar tone, then I agree, it should not have been removed. My question for you is, you mentioned not being able to leave another review. Is it on that particular product only or at all? If only on that product, then what I think happened is the merchant went against the TOS and created a new listing. Which means you did not buy this particular product and cannot leave a review. That, I would report. Merchants are not allowed to do that. As a merchant, I am embarrassed and amazed at their actions.
  11. I actually use my inworld store SLURL in my listings to bring my customers to the exact spot in my mainstore where they can find that particular product. With over 800 products, this is necessary. I am happy to hear that they don't change if I change my overally store landing point!
  12. When I try to read my profile it is in Japanese. I'm sure there is a way to switch it bac to English but I can't read the buttons. LOL! I used to use mine for promotion. It worked about as well as any one of the groups I belong to to be honest.
  13. I'm not sure if all of your hoop jumping happened in one day or over a long period but I've been using the Merchant Outbox successfully for several months now but last night I tried to upload to it and it would not sync to my store. You may be trying to do it while there are issues. I'd advise to try again over the next few days in case it is a system error.

  15. Darrius Gothly wrote: Just spotted this post. I'm getting all transactions from the Marketplace via ANS. They're all appearing in the iGlom RDS reports and it uses ANS for its source data, so yup .. everything coming through okay. Are you still having this issue? Thanks for checking, Darrius! It is working as of this morning. I'm thinking, since it was fine for you, that the issue must have been with my vendor system and not the marketplace itself. Weird too. After comparing my records, the ANS was tracked for item sold through Magic boxes but not for DD. I've let my vendor system provider know.
  16. I noticed today that all of my Marketplace sales are not being sent to my vendor system through ANS. Is anyone else having this issue?
  17. Great idea! You'll hear from me inworld as well.

Couldbe Yue wrote: it's possible that either the land impact or prim count is as specified.. have you checked both? Yes, did that too. You guys don't believe me. Go try it. I believe you. We can't check it out, though, because we don't know what product it is you are referring to. But if the creator knows and is advertising it falsely anyway, then I would state that in the review to warn others. That way, too, if you do flag it as not as advertised, the creator might be able to figure out why through reading the review. They won't be alerted to the review though. Only to a flagged item. I agree, the system isn't well thought out.
  19. In the case of prim count being incorrect, wouldn't it make more sense to contact the creator directly to let them know they made a mistake?
  20. That's a great tip. It's a bit sad that you have to say it though. I have to admit, I laughed until I cried when I read your post. On a serious note, I use the link to bring my customers directly in front of the vendor that holds the product. I've gotten many thanks for doing so. It's a bit of maintenance, I'll admit, if I move a vendor, but I think the benefit outways the extra effort.
  21. I get your point but I've always played a different game, one that lets me sleep at night. My marketing is through events and blogging and working my butt off to get my brand out there, without being sneaky and underhanded. Wasting time trying to get my marketplace listings to the top of search is not a priority, especially if I haven't earned it. I really think your time is better spent elsewhere.
  22. The way I look at it is that the people who buy low quality items based on where they land in search are not my market. I don't put much stock in placement of my products because word of mouth IS the best marketing tool you have and even though I don't have many products ever show up on the first few pages of a search, my sales are still strong. Make quality items. Don't play the game. Customers will find you.
  23. Exactly. You create a separate version of the product you are selling and cover it in ugly watermars, the word DEMO everywhere, attach a box to it, etc. so that the customer can try it but doesn't get a 'wearable' item for free.
  24. I agree Darrius. In fact, the majority of my products are born through speaking to customers who say, "I like this but what I'd really love to see is...[insert long description here]'. As long as the request makes sense for my brand, I try my best to fill in those gaps. Customers can be your inspiration.
