  1. You know, I've noticed this as well. I'm not sure if it times with relevance being updated but my sales seem to go like this (over the past 6 weeks): 3 days of inexpensive items selling well, 2 days of almost no sales, 2 days of great sales with majority being expensive items. Rince and repeat. I was wondering if they have some sort of cycle set up with search criteria to be honest.
  2. I'd love to help out. Let's talk costumes and lindens and I don't mind advertising in my mainstore. Contact me through email at sweet.distractions@hotmail.ca and we'll figure out how I can help.
  3. Thank you very much for your helpful advice, both of you. I will talk to the organizers but I have a better idea now.
  4. That's good to know, actually. Thank you.
  5. I've agreed to create a few exclusive items for an upcoming fair. The fair will run for 2 weeks and the agreement is you can't ever sell the items again. I have two questions for merchants please: 1. How do you price your exclusive items? Obviously, I don't want to sell them at my regular pricing. 2. I love the designs and want to offer some kind of version to my regular customers. Is this doable? How much do you change your design to make it fair?
  6. My business is down overall these past two months as well. It seems to have a few really strong days and then a terrible week. Up and down. Might be economy. Might be SL issues. Likely it's both. I do have to agree with one of the posters, though. The old model of a sim built around rentals is slowly (or quickly?) dying. In order to really make a go, I think we need to rethink that model and give players a reason to want to be on your sim other than to just rent a house or a shop.

Rarely anyone uses only flexi now, people need to learn to use sculpts/mesh in order to make stuff look realistic and good, then learn lighting to make the ad look appealing. Ummm... it's a vintage dress and looks exactly right for the period. It also looks like good quality to me. And don't kid yourself. Flexis and scultped prims are still way outselling mesh right now. It's slowly changing but it's far from there yet.
  8. Gharam, I'm not sure if you are new to uploading products to the Marketplace or not so I'm going to assume that you are. One thing you should be aware of is that it can take up to 5 minutes for new products to show up in your store. That is by design. The other thing, if you are on the Merchant Homepage, you need to select View My Store from the drop down menu under Store Setup. That takes you to your store where your products will show up if you have properly created your listings. If you are not new to Marketplace, I'm sorry for pointing out these steps.
  9. I'm sorry. The 'gratuitous' statement about them listening to their customers was in reference to giving us information about changes and being very specific with this new banner program because there were a lot of complaints on the forums for how vague the description was for 'Madstyle'. They also answered the issue with keyword spam for that banner program by asking us to place our Masquerade products in the Masquerade category instead of simply using the keyword. Again, this was a huge concern in the forums. I stand by my statement that the lindens are listening to us in this regard.
  10. Fair enough. I'm just excited to be kept in the loop! Maybe a positive bit of feedback first, and then a suggestion?
  11. Can I just point out that Commerce Team Linden is communicating with us, which is what we've all been crying for for a long time. No wonder they don't want to communicate with us when all they get is every nit-picky negative thing you all can make up. There's just no pleasing most of you. It's embarassing.
  12. Thank you for this announcement and also for being much clearer on the upcoming Masquerade banner and what it includes, or what it intends to include. As a merchant, this is very helpful to me. The categories are a help too. Thanks again!
  13. That's actually a great idea. With mesh, especially, there seems to be a lot more demos in the listings lately than ever before.
  14. Kudos to you for great customer service, though! I bet that customer will be back.
  15. Hrm. It sounds to me like not only are they trying to fix the relevancy issues, but they may also be playing with the formulas. That might end up being a good thing in the end. Time will tell.

The commerce team stated a while back that due to all the problems they were encountering with the DD deployment that they would push back the MB retirement deadline. I believe they mentioned that the new deadline was in June but I also understood that this was not cast in stone either. Here is the last known update about migration from the Commerce Team: Update (March 31, 2012): While we work to address current Marketplace issues, we will not require any Merchants to migrate listings away from Magic Boxes to Direct Delivery before June 1, 2012. So, does that mean June 1st is the deadline? That's how I read it until told otherwise. Oh, and 'He' is a 'She', Toy.
  17. Tweeted @rodvik I asked him when we can expect an official update on the MP for merchants as DD deadline looms.
  18. Can you elaborate on this, Spica? The weighting on price, I mean? Pretty please?
  19. If you have actual proof, Kyle, could you please submit a JIRA on this issue because, to my knowledge, we all know it is happening but no JIRA's have been submitted for it! We will all vote and watch it. We just can't submit since we don't have proof. Also, are these product in magic boxes or on DD?
  20. And since this 'update', I cannot get into the edit functionality on the Manage Subscriptions page to stop automatic renewal of my featured items. It takes me to a rogue page. I put in a ticket on Friday but luckily, noone works over the weekend to fix things. I'll get charged again for featuring items I don't want to feature. Anyone else having this issue?
  21. Question for the OP: Were the products you didn't get notice for on DD or in magic boxes?
