http://sldev.free.fr/ this viewer has VMM capability, and it still tries to support XP SP3 and XP 64 bit. it works a little different from what you will see in LL's tutorials, you drag items or folders to the Marketplace Listings folder in inventory, then use the right-click menus to do the marketplace listing tasks.

How can I get rid of this walking sound?
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to Jennifer Boyle's topic in Your Avatar
World->Show->Beacons, tick beacons and highlitghts, untick everything else but Sound sources. that should point you to the culprit quickly. -
Default avatar shape in Sansar

aristoteles Himanez wrote: I ve heard something about facial expressions. Is it true or just a myth? Ebbe did mention this at one point. not enough details were given to tell if this feature would be licensed from HiFi or be an independent implementation. my guess is an independent system, only because what HiFi currently has relies on experimental hardware. -
VMM again - just when everything seemed to go so well :(
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to ChinRey's topic in Merchants
a new VMM RC came out yesterday, http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.8.2.303891 it allows me to log in and get to marketplace listings. -
Ronja Pera is still around. she offered her older stuff for resale at low prices and it was shiny so it wound up everywhere.

ok i can confirm seeing trouble in Von Luckner, but it is intermittent. first few minutes there were fine, then there was a period of a few minutes where pings went into tens of seconds, then suddenly it got better again. region Nautilus - Alonim was up when i tried it, and both it and Gonkbrunk show uptimes of about two days, so it could be the same problem as what happened in Von Luckner it may appear from LL's end that everything is fine, and support tickets and calls may be how they learn it's broken from the outside. it feels like a network problem.

About Viewer Managed Marketplace and gacha items
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to Natalia280's topic in Merchants
yes, magic boxes are to be done by hand. take the items back to inventory, then associate them anew using a VMM viewer. there are instuctional videos for updating listings, and making new ones with the new setup, http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Viewer-Managed_Marketplace_FAQ#How_does_VMM_work.3F -
only a subset of those codes would be expected for that particular function. a typical use case might be a portal board, where you would want to show if the experience is available.
-
you can use the table in http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlGetExperienceErrorMessage as a magic decoder ring for those.

Viewer-Managed Marketplace Beta Now Available to All Merchants
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to a topic in Merchants
if you have migrated any listings to VMM and are still also using older viewers, be extra careful around the new "Marketplace Listings" folder in your inventory. currently, you can change, delete, move this folder's contents on viewers without VMM support, and those changes do show up immediately on marketplace listings. it would be really easy to break listings this way, so be careful until viewers merge in this feature and hide the folder from direct edits. -
Cancelling a pending account cancellation
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to KyleMcKenna's topic in General Discussion Forum
KyleMcKenna wrote: Thank you, i did look ionto thay but couldn;t very far in the process as specific questions needs to be answered befire the ticket can be sent and none of the questions pertain to my problem. The answers the the questions are mandaoty before a ticket cvan be sent and the nearest one tio my issue is the restoration of an old account which mine is not as it is still currently active. it's all very confusing. pick the closest category you can find (login issues or something) and describe the situation in the details. -
Lexia Moonstone wrote: Hello, really new at mesh. I'm using blender to make some parts for a hud, do I even need to worry about the LOD levels for mesh objects used in a hud? there has actually been an ongoing issue with some popular products with mesh HUD attachments. test carefully to make sure that touch surfaces work properly with level of detail at a full range of settings (down to 1.0 at least), some builders have been neglecting this and forcing users to use higher settings for no good reason.

can move that with the photo tools anyway, so it is all interactive. -
Firestorm viewing angle?
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to Benson Gravois's topic in General Discussion Forum
Firestorm includes a nice convenient way to adjust the camera angle. first press esc a couple of times to reset things, then: hold down the ctrl key and use the mouse wheel to raise and lower the camera. hold down the shift key and again use the mouse wheel to raise and lower the focus point. -
Old question, but in case others want to know: Adams region had public rez enabled and was hit with an attack that destroyed the original content. I reported this to LL when I noticed, but it was already in that condition for a long time with nobody reporting, so LL did not have any sim states old enough to restore it. The sky build at Adams was a TSL copy of the historic Gravity Space Station build, the main grid version is long gone too.

Viewer-Managed Marketplace Inworld Feedback Session
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to a topic in Merchants
sweetlips Ruby wrote: Ok just to make sure I understand correctly...this is irrelevant to those that are using Firestorm viewer right? Those on Firestorm continue to use the Merchant Outbox tool? this will affect everybody who sells on the Marketplace, no matter what viewer they use. firestorm will be adding this system too. -
a smaller avatar does not move any faster than a larger one and animations do not change how fast an avatar moves. a small or invisible avatar in that game is only a form of mild trolling, so that a new player will be surprised that crystals disappear, when another avatatr they didn't see coming gets there first. the mini map is one easy way to defeat that. it is absolutely possible to do well at that game without scripted boosts or other cheat attempts. players who learn the game terrain, and maybe more important learn how to use standard viewer features well, will gain the most advantages.

A bit of a rant aimed at mesh creators
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to Bobbie Faulds's topic in Fashion
this is not an issue. all 38 attachments can go on the right hand, or any other point. (there is a 5-per-slot limitation for system clothing layers, but even that is going away soon.) -
Deploy for the week of 2015-04-13
ObviousAltIsObvious replied to Caleb Linden's topic in Second Life Server
yes it will temporarily return -1 on the main channel, until it too gets this update. (wanted to get what the shape feature really does documented early, because over the years there was some fear and controversy about how the information might be misinterpreted and misused) -
The old mirror scripts were only made to act on legacy prims. To flip an asymmetrical sculpted prim, there is a "mirror" checkbox in the Object tab. Mesh objects are set at upload time.

What happens when a player or Liege logs out? also some opportunties require players to be physiclly nearby so they idle in clusters.
