  1. The upvote icon is only present in some of the sections of the SL forums as you can see
  2. SL has its own age verification in place. If someone is under 18 then they simply do not have access to adult rated places. You or anyone else do not need to add another age verification on top of that.
  3. You PAID for a dice roll script? From the old SL forum archives (slightly modified to be a 6-sided die instead of a 50-sides one): default { touch_start(integer n) { llSay(0, llDetectedName(0) + " rolls " + (string)llCeil(llFrand(6.0))); } }
  4. OpenSim at the time was in its infancy, lots of stuff was not working as reliably as it does nowadays. The time was definitely not right but for that short time in 2008, SL was part of a metaverse and I am sure SL/LL can do it again.
  5. They still have the option, the very real option to opening a portal to the HyperGrid like they have in 2008 (see http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Open_Grid_Public_Beta). Contrary to back then, there is now gatekeeper functionality that will block the transfer of assets from (in this case) SL to OpenSim unless the creator specifically indicated that this would be allowed. Similarly, it can prevent the import of (all) assets coming from OpenSim to SL which is how we would want it because of all the illegal content that exists on OpenSim. Yes, there is also a lot of original content on OpenSim, but unfortunately it is not possible for any kind of software to tell the difference between an original item coming from OpenSim and a stolen one. The above scenario actually already is being done between different HyperGrid-connected OpenSim grids. I have come across it while I was exploring the HyperGrid and went to a grid with an economy, where you had to buy their currency to purchase the (all original!) products on their grid. You could bring nothing with you in or out. When arriving, you got a default avatar for which you could find freebies to get dressed, kinda like the process for new arrivals on SL. In the case of SL, I would imagine that after arriving from the HyperGrid, you would get the option to explore SL with a username that reflects from which grid your avatar came from, or to get connected to your existing SL account (after answering some security questions and/or entering username and pass of course). *IF* LL would decide to reconnect to the HyperGrid, then I would imagine it to be in the form as I laid out above. I am certain that this can be done and that it is actually feasible, but it would require a willingness and a bit of elbow grease on LL's part, as well as perhaps a change of policy on software contributions to 3rd party software (in this case OpenSim) by LL employees, because I would not be surprised if they feel that the gatekeeper and/or other parts of the OpenSim software would require some updating or fixing before LL can open their HyperGrid doors again.
  6. Meta has lots of stuff and issues to figure out that SL has had 18½ years experience with. We have a headstart on them with literally everything.
  7. Well, poop, you are right. I misremembered. EDIT: The above pic is a screenshot of the inventory of my alt. I followed the LM in the pack but it just got me to the Meshbody mainstore without a trace of the Classic body around. Perhaps someone else can help with that (after checking to see if the LM actually gets you to the Classic, of course)
  8. The Mesh Project (TMP) is no longer active and their bodies are no longer available. HOWEVER, from TMP emerged the store called Meshbody and they have a body called Legacy. Also available (if you know where to look and I'm afraid I lost the SLURL) is the so-called "Classic" which is basically a rebranded TMP body and this Classic is available for only 1L. This body does include hands, feet and head. As for the rest of the look of the pic you posted, I can not help with that. I hope this is at least a little helpful.
  9. You would just look messed up. Why would you even want that?
  10. Are leaving the parcel where the music is playing? How do you connect to the internet? Wifi or ethernet? Did you consider the possibility that the stream you trey to listen to sucks and the interruptions are on their side?
  11. I am, and have been for quite a while now, certain that completing that coastline would also reveal part of an upcoming theme before it is read to be shown to us. Of course one could argue that the Moles could at least put the parts in that will not reveal that theme, but that would lead to even more complaints with people asking "Why don't they put in the last X regions and complete the river so we can sail to Satori?" so it'd be better to leave that the way it is for now.
  12. UPDATE: This is what my build platform looks like now. There are a few objects that I am still working on, a photo backdrop which I don't even use for photos and an experiment here and there. Oh, and because bright colors bother my eyes, I downloaded the builder grid, inverted it and fixed the colors of the colored lines. It feels much more comfortable to my eyes now.
  13. Right here. It's free, but some folks who I have some choice words for, are still selling this freebie. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Basic-Builders-Grid-Texture/8534776
  14. Some are really old. I got a hold of my first lady bits in 2008 and I still have it. It was all prims, no sculpties! I also keep nips in there (I have q few different ones), and the Lolas that were at one point almost a mandatory asset for women in SL 🙂 And there are one or two stray male bits, which I picked up for their novelty value (I don't wear them, it never felt right for me) Anyway, the folder is there so that I can always find them 🙂
  15. I had that happen to be too once or twice. Turned out the person in question was just in the same region as I was when they changed their (display) name, which seems to be reason enough for the viewer to inform us about the name change of a complete stranger.
  16. If that works for you, then it's a perfectly fine way of organising your stuff. I, however, get confused quickly and lose track of what I have and where it is, so I actually need to organize my inventory the way I do.
  17. My sorting method, because a picture is worth a thousand words:
  18. Alright, so DPI made no change. It was my first thought because it looked so high to me. After you had posted your initial response I remembered something about color spaces on Android, so I Googled it and saw that Android only really supports the sRGB colorspace. iOS uses sRGB as standard as well, but PCs and other desktop computers can use a variety of color spaces. So perhaps try converting the image's color space to sRGB before uploading it and see if that makes a difference. I tried to come up with an explanation of what color space is and what it does but I failed miserably, so I will include this Wikipedia link instead. Note that this is not just for you, but also for anyone else who may read this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_space EDIT: The gown looks powder pink to me and the colors nice and vibrant, but the luminance on the pic from your mobile looks considerably lower resulting in a more muted effect.
  19. I would experiment with the DPI settings. 300 is rather high and MAY be the cause of this.
  20. Using llRegionSay() is perhaps the least suitable function for this. Consider using llMessageLinked() instead for communication between two scripts in a link set.
  21. TIP: Send out a group notice one or two days before you are going to delete the group. Then on the day itself, announce the impending deletion and the reason behind it in the group chat. It saves a lot of hurt feelings.
  22. I'm sure you can modify this one to fit your needs. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Typing_linkset_alpha_toggle
