  10. Since we don't all live where you live, the "blunt" answer I gave my WTF reaction to just seemed kind of pointless. However, if it's in the EU, your own mishandling (and opening your laptop incorrectly may fall under that) isn't covered. A lot of people don't even read a laptop manual. Mine didn't even come with one. The EU consumer guarantee (and also the manufacturer's warranty) isnā€™t some get out of jail free card for any broken device. If you drop your phone in the toilet, spill a coffee on your laptop, or otherwise damage your device through your own neglect or stupidity, youā€™re on the hook for any and all repairs.

  16. The Takeover Triumvirate is headed by a guy who specialises in "Takeover, repaint, slice up and sell". The company got rid of it's high profile Tech and Marketing VP's. The "tech improvements" we've seen have all been a bit "one guy working half a day a week on the project" with the other 4.5 days spent on general emergency hotfix patching everything else. NO "strategic investments in technology" at all. All of this suggests that the goal is to make SL more "sellable" so it can be offloaded as well, like Tilla, and Sansar, so the takeover triumvirate can move on to new targets. Absolutely! Obviously those Masai Warriors living in traditional villages in Kenya, who don't have electricity, cell phone towers, or optical glass internet cables, will soon all be logging in on their brand new Awful Mac whyPhones to sign over 3 months wages for a Premium subscription, and claim one of the "Little Boxes made of Ticky-Tacky that all look just the same" in the Bellicosian Privacy-Haters Zone. How could ANYONE doubt the "inclusive vision" of people who assume everyone has access to fancy modern tech, with a cell phone tower behind every elephant, and dozens of miles of glass cable running across the veldt to a village of 40 people.

To address your points: First, while the possibility of using funds to manage buyout debt exists, strategic investments in technology can also spur long-term growth, as seen in other tech sectors. Expanding our user base isn't just about finding 'untapped markets'; it's about making our platform more accessible and inclusive, which aligns with broader trends in technology adoption globally. As an example, one business I'm involved with competed in the Global Learning XPRIZE a few years ago. I appreciate there are some criticisms of the XPRIZE organisation, however several entrants had great success and did facilitate marked improvements in remote communities by a combination of software and inexpensive hardware innovations.
  22. In the before times, I was a highly successful home builder and seller, by which I mean 2000+ sales per month as a sole operator without any CS team. I personally re-linked and repaired probably a handful of homes for customers where they had modified things a bit and couldn't face just rezzing a new one out of the box. I also provided what textures I could (not textures I used from 3rd parties) so they could add features that matched. It didn't matter if they turned one of "my" houses into some weird thing people would look at and think was ugly. They bought the houses, they should enjoy them how they want. Any creator who says differently just cares about themselves more than their customers. The only items I sold no-mod were no-copy transferable little cabins that I only made because of a lot of nagging to provide such things. I never took up with mesh building so that's all past history for me. I got in a weird conversation in a group with an aircraft builder who wanted to know the far ends and ins and outs of what I was doing with "her" plane. I bought the hecking thing, I was doing what I wanted with it. File under "nunya." Recently I got some new land and bought one of Cory Edo's houses, and I'm glad and grateful that she sells with mod permissions. The building is almost unrecognisable from the vendor image now with extensive modifications and retexturing. Maybe it's not everyone's taste, maybe she wouldn't like it, I don't know, but I'm happy with it and I sincerely thank her for putting her customers first.
  23. You're most welcome! And quite right about the truth of the moment as you felt/feel it! All Truths Are True, so how you felt about her in the moment (and even other peoples who had same/similar experiences) is truth! I simply felt inclined remind it isn't the only truth or way to have experienced her and those happenings-- which, I think you understood just fine and it's totally okay you're still learning, I am too! I also think in such cases it's totally okay to honestly say/tell her, "You feel like an evil person to me right now!" versus "you are an evil person!" if you can manage such, because the first one is you expressing the truth of your feelings with total ownership that it's your experience of her behavior and choices... versus the other one which uses the truth of your feelings and takes it a step further by making an attacking assumption that her behavior and choices mean she's an evil person (when the truth of our present reality is that the number of really evil people is surprisingly small/tiny compared to the number of generally good and good-desiring people who just get emotionally worked up and or stressed out to the point they do evil/evilish stuff and behave in seemingly evil ways even though they really want to do and give better... they just haven't yet learned the best ways to get what they're really aiming for-- which for BossLady, sounds like she wants someone her vibe and pace (a hustler) to be a legit partner (split/share the workload/to-dos,) someone like her but more willing to follow orders and her lead. Anyroad.) Frankly, BossLady sounds like my Mom, whom I've recently felt similar as you have, that my Mom is kinda evil for the things she's willing to say to me and accuse me of-- but I happen to know she's not evil, she's just got a mountain of emotional baggage (fear, anger, & woe/pain) she's been carrying around with her since before I was born (I'm 38 now) and it's all that pain and hurt that has filtered her perception of people to believing there are too-few good peoples in the world (when really, there is an abundance of good peoples, she just hasn't healed herself enough to open herself to having good experiences with them, or even me yet.) So, she ends up lashing out with all that pain and hurt bubbling into outrage and anger that turns into personal attacks on my beingness/personhood-- my way of life, my job, my money, my "inhumanness", etc. All of which I have learned only comes out of her when she's feeling bad about herself or her life-- doesn't matter the reasons, the results are almost always in the same vein of "what a crappy world we live in, how crappy people are, how crappy I am".... but our world isn't crappy nor are the people, nor I except sometimes what I say or do in a heated moment.... we're all just learning! And sometimes those learning curves get ugly! lol I laugh with forgiveness for my own contributions to various ugliness. Forgive yourself, forgive her if/when you're ready, and you can still go your seperate ways, just without carrying the residual hurts to add to the gravity of any other hurts from other happenings in your life, you may still be holding onto (which really also just translates to, you have yet to look at those happenings from a perspective that feels more forgivable and capable of giving you the sense of appreciation and relief it happened, it taught you, and is in the past to teach you more every time you allow yourself to look at it from yet another perspective.) Here are a few visuals I've made during my own journey to making sense of my life and how I experience it, and can practice my way to having better, more fun and fulfilling experiences (in both SL and RL! xD) "Eyes of the Observer" is all about reminding myself (and others seeking) that the full spectrum of ways you CAN perceive & experience a happening or thing is available to you as soon as you give it your attention. The other part to remember is that your choice-making patterns through your life so far, will prime your reactions to automatically go to the perspective that's most used/familiar with experiencing. This is why angry people who don't practice ways to switch out of anger and into other emotional states, just get increasingly more angry and volatile to the point tiny things become HUGE triggers.... or why someone can rapidly funnel down into an "I can't/it's useless" pit of rock-bottom despair. Each experience makes the next experience like it, easier and quicker to obtain/feel again and the ones we feel the most become the "easy button" emotions we kind of default to for most of our engagements with reality.   24. My belief is they are more likely to spend the cash on paying off some of the leveraged buyout loan, and share holder dividends. An SL lumbered with buyout debt is harder to re-sell than one that's clear of debt, and would fetch a better price. Here we go again with the "vast untapped new market" that doesn't actually exist nonsense again. What a load of Bollocks. Thune's is a B2B network, they specialise in connecting fake money crypto-cap not-banks in Tax-Avoidance Havens to real banks in the civilised world. The don't do "customer facing" or "payment processing". The Third World Countries, where people earn a $ a day, paid in cash you mean.. Heads up, people who earn a $ a day not only have limited access to credit cards, and paypal, but also have limited access to PC's capable of RUNNING SL at all. Awful Mac whyLaps and whyPads are not common accessories in economically deprived "unbanked" areas. "A VAST untapped new market of people who can't PLAY SecondLife because they don't own and can't afford to buy the hardware!" is no new market at all.
