Many of their items are no-copy things they got from some gacha, so, if they sell, they should disappear from the store. Successful sales would make the store go blank. Maybe that happened and they then reloaded the store with more items?

It could very well be an ad blocker. Things don't have to be an AD to not show. Happens to me often, but not on the Marketplace. It depends on how the coding is that feeds in the database items.

I like the ad blocker theory because there's a whole chunk of text missing that should be there to report a no-results query:

Looking at the html, it's not obvious to me (NOT an expert) whether the contents of this div ("search-results-headers") comes from a different source. While I had this open (Ctrl-Shift-I) in the Chrome debugger, though, I took a look at the console and there's a bunch of warnings there about outmoded and insecure html coding style. That raises another possibility: maybe a browser-specific fussiness about how much guff it's willing to take from the page it's trying to load. It may be that Marketplace is just too sloppy for some strict browser. Ordinarily I'd expect we'd see wider reports of trouble, though, unless it's a cutting-edge beta of a browser or something. So to pursue that, OP might try switching browsers or rolling back a version of whatever browser they're using.
