  1. I'm completely in the opposite camp. For nearly all circumstances I hate doors that open on collide. My peeve is doors that automatically close. I wish all doors opened on touch and that all doors stayed open unless touched again. I confess I use one of those old visitor list scripts on my home's welcome mat. *Writes not to self to stop using it!* For my shop, I use Hippo Visit. It works great for what I need it for, keeping track of customers who actually enter my shop. Unfortunately, the merchant stopped support for Hippo products sometime ago.
  2. My go-to brows come from Simple Bloom. I use BoM brows though. Her brows come in white and are fully mod so can be tinted using the edit function in the viewer. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/215211
  3. Fri.day is my favorite go-to for sandals. Lately though, I've really enjoyed sandals from KC Couture and Pure Poison.
  4. Parcels are based on the 512 sqm parcel, or 16mx32m. To get a 1024 sqm parcel it takes 2 512sqm blocks. You can either stack them one on top of the other or set them side by side. A 2048 sqm parcel takes four of these 512s. So anyway you stack them it's still the same. There's no way to get a square.
  5. ALM and shadows on all the time for years now. The only thing I adjust when in a very laggy venue is to turn down my draw distance, which is normally around 200. Honestly, SL looks washed out and oh so dull without ALM and shadows to me. My current specs: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz (3600 MHz) Memory: 16228 MB Concurrency: 16 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (Build 19045.3324) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 Graphics Card Memory: 11264 MB But I ran both with my previous two computers as well. They weren't anywhere close to these specs.
  6. That wouldn't be so bad, but I'm afraid I'd end up seeing all kinds of sand islands filling up the water with not-so-pretty buildings plopped on top of the island.
  7. My solution to alpha issues with bangs in the past was to alpha mask the one portion of the bang that clashed with my lashes; unfortunately, now with so many hair creators going to no mod it's really become nearly impossible to fix this issue. I don't like overly long lashes so the ones that are mentioned in this thread that are alpha masked won't work for me. So, quite often I just don't wear bangs.
  8. Ah, that never bothered me. I used Chalet doors myself. First thing I do when a new theme is released is get a parcel so I can collect the content pack whether I actually want to live in that theme or not. I do that with both, Blush and Debi.
  9. This posts explains nicely how to alpha out the toe nails.
  10. My understanding is that the biggest difference comes from the environment and how light is broadcasted and reflected based on the physical world around the avatar. So, I'm not so sure that the difference is in the textures, though of course there are differences. The biggest thing I've noticed from my time in Sansar was that shadows and highlights didn't come from baked ambient occlusion maps. I think shiny will be an issue for any BOM textures because as you stated in the current form of things we don't have materials on any BOM layers. I don't know how it's all going to work. I just noticed that the skins didn't have the normal highlights and shadows baked in as we are currently used to and wondered if PBR was the reasoning behind that decision.
  11. I'm wondering if this is the case to be sure the body will work with the third party heads. I'm not sure, but with the little bit of experience I had with PBR textures in Sansar, I learned that the highlights we normally see baked into textures aren't desireable in a PBR rendered environment. Since the Senra bodies are PBR ready this might be why the skins seem so dull. It's just a guess.
  12. I believe Patch was referring to one commenters suggestion that the clothing be full perm.
  13. I read somewhere, I think it was Patch, that you could make a transparent universal layer to get rid of the nails. That being said, I'm not sure if that would get the result you want as I'm thinking it would make both the nails and toe nails invisible. A possible solution would be making mesh nails for the Senra body. So that's something a creator, and there are many who make mesh nails for the various bodies out there, might want to make for these bodies.
  14. The body is in your library. Pull it out and give it a try. Let us know what you find out.
  15. That I don't know. I threw out my slink feet/hands years ago.
  16. I just took a look but I thought I remembered that the body itself was copy/mod/no trans. Sure enough the body is mod. For those interested.
  17. lol What customization? But I'll be there too. But Palia avatars don't begin to have the customization that is possible here in SL, IMO. I'm speaking what is possible not necessarily what you start out with here.
  18. Awwww, but I completely understand. I hope you the best and thank you for all you've contributed to this world through the years.
  19. I too noticed this but once I enlarged the ears just a little the placement looked fine to me.
  20. My intent in using a skin that didn't come packaged with the avatar was to see how other skins would work with the new head/body. Customizing an avatar is a big part of learning how SL works for someone new. Considering that there will be more, and I think much more, content coming out soon that are specific to the Senra avatars, I wanted to test skin and cosmetics that didn't come with the avatars. The skin that comes with the avatars isn't bad at all, but if all new users used the same skin they'd look all the same, so I'm pretty sure after a user gets used to the environment that they'll be off to the shopping area in search of items to customize their avatars.
  21. Very true. I was just responding to her question about the petite, but I should have also included the info about the flat. Thanks for adding that info.
  22. I've been anxious to try out the new female body. It was kind of hard to find an old SLUV skin my inventory as I've thrown most of them out since switching to EvoX, but I found an old YS&YS skin with a few makeups in the same folder. There are issues with the skin around the nose and lips, but I think once skins are released that were made for this head that can be overcome enough so that someone new to SL won't have a problem using this head in the short term. The body isn't bad at all. I think a person could use this body with any of the mesh heads out there for a very long time.
