  1. If you own the Maitreya Lara plus the Petite add-on, when the Lara X update comes out you will get the Lara X plus the Lara X Petite for free.
  2. Hard to believe this was over 10 years ago. My favorite profile shot of all time. Catwa flexi hair and one of my favorite dresses. I can't seem to remember the name of the creator. Pixel something .. maybe Pixel Dolls??? She made the prettiest lace dresses. And here with my best friend and long time partner. This was the beginning of my love of tattoos. Ahhhh the days of pre-mesh. We didn't look so bad!!
  3. I love shopping, but I've been doing most of my clothes shopping for Debi and not so much Blush. Now I have mentioned before that I actually switched Debi over to a Legacy Perky a few months back, because I had to use so many mods to get the Lara + Petite add-on to get her to look like I wanted because she's short and dainty. Another issue that made me want to change was dealing with having to use an add-on for the petite chest. Too often I'd loose the add-on and have to reattach it. So I'm super happy about this new body, because to be honest, I switched but wasn't ever happy about switching Debi to Perky, but with the new Lara X Petite everything I dreamed about for Debi in a Maitreya body has come true. So back to shopping from a creators standpoint. If I were to just keep Blush wearing the 5.3 why would I ever need to buy another pair of jeans? She has dozens already. Why would I need to buy another bikini? She has more than dozens of those as well. ETC ... you get my point. Once your wardrobe is so saturated that there's literally nothing you need then why shop? I can say the same thing for Debi. Had I decided to just go back to Lara 5.3, which I most likely would have because I've not been 100% happy with her Perky, why would I need to buy more of anything. She has more clothing than Blush by a long shot. Shopping was becoming a bit boring because I literally didn't need ANYTHING. I know I'm not alone in this thinking. I believe this is a golden opportunity for creators to boost their sales. And to have fewer headaches trying to rig their creations. Plus as I've noticed with Debi recently, and was another contributing factor in my switching her to Perky, is that rigging makes a big difference in how the avatar/clothing looks moving through animations. So not only will rigging be easier but the clothing the creators pour their energy into will also LOOK so much better on the avatar. I'm already beginning to sort my inventory in preparation for the release.
  4. Quoting from the Maitreya announcement: "The request for smoother weights originates from creators who have expressed the difficulty they experience when creating content for the Lara mesh body (some of them therefore even decided to drop Lara sizes). As much as we wanted to improve the weights issues, doing so would *always result in the breaking of content made for Lara previously." *emphasis mine. From that statement, it seems that doing anything to improve the current dev kit would break content.
  5. Personally, I don't care if any creator updates previous releases to include X. Of course that would be a bonus, but I like shopping. I like new. So if I do want to wear something old I still have my 5.3. But I'm excited to get into X and buy new clothes. I'm also hoping that since the new DEV kit makes rigging so much easier that we may see a better variety of clothing for X than we're currently seeing for 5.3.
  6. In the Maitreya Lara Friends group the seamless switching has been explained by the CSR as easily switching between bodies using the change outfit function in the viewer. These are separate bodies.
  7. I've been hardly working, but working nonetheless, on my little piece of heaven here in Ranch country. I think I'm just about finished with my Creek Stone, and I still have 57 prims left. I kept the front porch simple this time. The living room is cozy, and yet, I think the "bedroom" area is set off nicely by the angled wood wall behind the bed. I've moved things around a bit in the kitchen and cluttered up the work surface just like RL. The screened porch hasn't changed much except for clutter items. The bathroom got a bit of a make over after realizing I had wasted space by placing the bathtub way in the back. I've moved the tub to the front and place a nice little laundry area to the back. I like this much better! My favorite time of day has become twilight. It's so peaceful here next to the stock tank "pool." A special thank you to @Marianne Littlefor sharing info on BATTLESCARS WL. I'm really enjoying these EEP settings. Just look at that sky! I'm finished enough so that if anyone would like to take a peak, you are more than welcome to stop by. I'm not here as often as I'd like so you probably won't run into me, but if you do great! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Clemente/101/200/22
  8. I think you'd really enjoy the Ranch theme. There's a feeling of space here that you just don't get in the other themes. I just feel more connected to "nature" in this theme. And then there's all those prims!!!
  9. Well it didn't take me long to get the itch to switch to a Creek Stone. I have been intrigued with it since the release of the Ranch theme, but it didn't have a bathroom. That's what kept me from picking it in the first place. I figured I could do something to make a proper bathroom. This is it so far, and I'm loving it. I still have so many prims to play with! That's the beauty of such a small house. This bathroom is entered through the newly screened porch. The inside is coming along nicely. So many little touches left to be added though. I still have 150 prims left to play with and I've not done any linking yet.
  10. The speculation I was referring to about Linden Homes was speculation in the forums not so much my own speculation, because as I've said I learned early on that that kind of speculation was not profitable. I'm not understanding why you take such exception to my voicing my decision to take a wait and see approach as far as the NUX bodies are concerned. I used to comment often in the forums, but now I'm remembering why I stopped. Y'all have fun.
  11. I'm not speculating that what we saw, if only briefly, is what they plan to release. Though I don't know. It's speculation to suggest any of us know what LL is thinking or planning. This is one time I'm trying to be patient and actually wait for the product rather than get into the speculation game. I do know that a dev kit is coming. So making judgements based on the small amount of content we saw, ever so briefly, yesterday doesn't make sense to me. I just have to look back at the Catwa heads and the skins that were released with those heads early on. If I had based my judgement on the included skin and not wait for third party skinners to make skins, I wouldn't have ever bought one of those heads. I'm excited to see what the bodies and heads look like with skins made by other skinners here in SL. I'm also excited to see what clothing, shoes, and accessories will be made for these bodies. I can't imagine that creators won't jump at the chance to sell items to new users for these bodies. Not that I think new residents will stay in these bodies, but this is a perfect way for creators to advertise their creativity and skills to someone just joining SL.
  12. As someone who suffers with arthritic hands, I can attest to enjoying handsfree transportation. Though I'm not sure I'd want to see the pods in Belli. My favorite handsfree transportation involves having a friend at the wheel driving while I enjoy being a backseat driver.
  13. Since, this was not an official launch of the bodies, I'm going to withhold judgement until I see a blog post and an official release. I think if it had really been ready the parts would still be available on the main grid. So I'm anxious to see the released product and not just speculation based on incomplete data. Though it's been interesting to see the speculation. I just know from the years of speculating on what a Linden Home theme is going to be that we quite often don't get that right and quite often are absolutely wrong.
  14. I just purchased them for both myself and Debi. Had no trouble buying them. I really REALLY like them. Thanks for sharing them!
  15. I didn't mean to suggest you use the universals from Lelutka with the ears on the NUX avatars, but simply illustrating what a universal was and that she had already been using one without realizing what it was.
  16. If you use a Lelutka head, then you most likely have been using a universal layer to add the skin texture to your ears. Those are all universal layers. You can create these yourself and add a transparent texture in the texture slot to make the toenails disappear as Patch mentioned above.
  17. I may be the only person in SL to have stopped buying high heels years ago. I have maybe bought a total of 5 pairs of high heels in the past 5 years. I hate ... HATE ankle locks and just don't like how the ankles break when I wear high heels. So I'm constantly buying flats and mids. I have a rather large collection of both. But I've been looking for mids for many years now. I much prefer to go barefooted or wear flats. But I'm sure creators will come up with excellent ways to enable the Senras to wear heels.
  18. I have 17 prims left! And yes, I'm already itching to try decorating a different Ranch model. But I'll enjoy this build out for a few days before carefully collecting all the pieces and dropping them into a rezzer so I can rez out this build whenever I like. Then I'll be trying some of the other beautiful homes that the Ranch theme has to offer.
  19. Here's how my Buffalo Pastures home turned out. To be continued in the next post.
  20. Attachment point limit doesn't really come into play on this because it simply will detach something to add the next thing. And it keeps doing that. Clicking on another outfit to stop the process never worked for me. The first time I tried it, it simply added the new outfit to the queue. The second time I tried to do that it ended with a hard crash where I had to actually turn off the power to my computer to recover. It's really better to just take a break and come back when the process has completed.
  21. Just take comfort in knowing you are not alone. I'd be willing to bet that just about everyone who has been here for any length of time has done this at least once. I know I have more than once!!!!
  22. I chose the Buffalo Pastures home. I consider it to be the large of the small size houses. I'm well on my way to completing the interior furnishings, but still have quite a bit to finish. I did make a wall insert that I placed in the room on the staircase side. Here you can see that wall from the kitchen side. The bathroom is on the other side of that wall. This leaves me with a rather large living room, but I like the space since I often find myself dancing either with friends or just by myself. I plan on putting a media center in the space between the front door and the fireplace. The sofa is facing that corner. I have a lot of finishing to do in this living room. Up the stairs I plan to add a little library nook just to the right of the bedroom door. The bedroom also has a lot of finishing touches to be added but it's well on it's way to completion. I really love the size of this home!
  23. I'm not sure if you think you can only see one example of a home for each of the themes at Bellihub. There are mailbox controllers at each theme parcel where you can rez all the different home styles for that particular theme.
