  1. the applier type is coming as fast as the designers can get them done. Remember that the body has only been out a little over a week. So far, I've only had problems with a few mesh clothes and those are more about the alpha layers since so many have their own custom alphas. The main problem with that has been with corsets. I've got some fit mesh stuff and it fits like a dream. Remember, patience is a virtue.
  2. You have the Saints and SInners type that are considered skill games because how well you depends on your choices. Games that used to be inworld, like poker, that paid off big should be gone, though I'm sure there are still some places that have them that LL just doesn't know about.
  3. You're talking about exploders. As for the gambling, there were several reasons for it. First, the US governement saw the amount of money being cashed out of SL and they wanted LL to start issuing the I9's required for gambling earnings. LL didn't and doesn't have the resources for that. It's a social media place, not offshore gambling. The other problem was that too many of the players that owned the gambling establishments started not paying out. Complaints came in, especially since the money was sometimes substantial. Again, LL didn't want to get into that arena so it was just easier to end gambling.
  4. Mesh, sculpts, prims and system clothes all have their place and can work well together...just depends on what you are wanting. I've see gorgeous gowns that use an under layer with a mesh skirt then have the flowing flexiprims on top. Some designers, however, have the flexi too flexi and not enough gravity so the pieces fly around rather than flow. Mesh is great for a straight/pencil skirt. The longer "boho" look has the same problem the old system skirts have in that the textures stretch when you move. However, with the mesh, you no longer have to have a "skirt shape" like you did in days gone by because the system skirt made your hips look huge. System clothes are making a comeback with the advent of the mesh bodies and body parts like Slink, Wowmeh, Phat Azz and the various mesh boobs since the parts require appliers that are usually made from system clothes templates. They are enhanced, however, with the use of mesh sleeves or flared pants leg bottoms. Bottom line, each has it's pluses and minuses...just depends on what you are trying to do.
  5. Don't do anything right now with your listings. SL is working on the problem and it should fix itself.
  6. The Slink body has only been out a bit over a week, give it a little time. The developers kits went out and clothing is starting to appear for it. I've only had a little bit of trouble with some of my mesh clothes, but I'd say 95% I've not had to do a think to. Fitted mesh works like a dream. Slink is designed to smooth out the rough spots in the SL avi, not necessarily to add curves. It will move and change with your avatar settings so you can get a more zaftig look. Wowmeh was designed for a more Rubinesque look and is curvier. You have to decide what you are looking for. Many of the major skin makers have released the skin appliers that match their skins with more coming. Wowmeh has been out longer so there are more items available. With the kits going out as fast as they can, more Slink compatible will be there. Just need to be a bit patient. A week isn't a whole lot of time and the designers do have a RL too...smiles. I have the Slink on 3 of my alts and have 3 more I'm planning on getting. They are avis I use for various RPs so worth the look for me.
  7. My sister is on Win8 and has had success with CtrlAltStudio. It's kind of a FS light version. There is also the UKanDo viewer that works nicely.
  8. If the person that made it is willing to give you the full perm texture, you can make your own applier with the free personal texture hud that you can get for the Slink body.
  9. Contact the maker and ask. Suggest that they add the Slink applier to their offerings. There are a lot of Slink wearers, including me, that like to wear tats. They can request the developer kit from the Slink website.
  10. with the Physique you do have the ability for alpha layers for clothing. As for the face, the Slink body goes down to the wrist, ankle and up to the neck so you can use your SL default avi there, though the Slink hands and feet work better. Slink does have 2 mesh heads available right now, though I stick with my SL default avi head since I've put a lot of time into getting the face the way I like it.
  11. SL clothing isn't going to move over the nipples, they are going to "poke through" unless it's mesh and then they won't show anyway. Instead, look for clothing that has the standing up nipple look. It's out there, you just have to hunt for it.
  12. Try the demo of the Physique and see if it meets your needs. So far 12 major skin makers have released the skin appliers for it with more on the way. If not, look at the Perky breasts. They are made to be smaller so you might have better luck with those.
  13. Also, go to the end of the list rather than at the beginning. People always head for the ones that show up first. Bright Corporation has a very nice sandbox that I've only seen someone there once. Shan Bright stays on top of stuff so it's safe. If you have a problem with someone, IM her.
  14. It was set at 1 minute. However, I allowed my group members the ability to rez on the land to open stuff. I'm now going to have to suspend that and create a small area where they can rez.
  15. You're going to love this. After reading this post, I went an checked my land. I have several parcels that I hadn't joined up. I have a script counter in my work area and noticed a guy that was at 5% resources. So, I pull up my minimap and find him. He was over my land at 3800 meters. Past experience has shown me griefers that come in, create an object up high and leave, the object then creates stuff that rains down on the sim so I went to investigate. Sat on a prim and moved it up and "banged" my head on a 300+ prim skybox. The guy was nearby but poofed before I could eject and ban him when I started returning his stuff. I have my VIP group set to allow members to rez stuff and he took advantage. He's now been banned and I returned his stuff in little coalesced objectsthat he'll have to deal with. He's been inworld 5+ years so knew better....shakes her head.
  16. If you sit, either on something or on the ground, you can't be orbited. Unless you are working on something that generates particles, turn your particles down. Not much you can do with the prim spam other than AR the person and contact the owner of the sandbox with the name of the person. Scripted, again, not a lot you can do other than report them and ignore them. Mute the person and a lot of what they might try won't work. If you acknowledge their existence, all you do is feed the troll.
  17. Well, you've named places to go. You might also check out Lapointe and Baschild. Try your search terms in the marketplace and you'll see a lot there as well.
  18. Eclectic. It depends on my mood. One day I'll be sexy grunge, the next I'll be wearing a peasant skirt and blouse. Just depends on my mood. I have just about every style in my inventory, from silks to ball gowns and everything, and I do mean everything, in between. It's what happens when you RP in different sims.
  19. There is absolutely no need to pay for building classes. Builder's Brewery, Happy Hippo, NCI, Helping Haven, just to mention a few, offer free classes. Take all that you can on building, even the ones on jewelry. I use some of the techniques I learned in jewelry to make othe things. Anyone charging you for building classes is ripping you off. Happy Hipster even has free tutorials where you can follow and build right there. They do have some classes that are for sale, but basically to cover help cover the expense of the sim and the materials that are included.
  20. The appliers are just that. They apply the skin texture to the mesh item so they match your skin. Slink hands and feet replace the crappy hands and paddles with lines on them feet of the SL avatars. The Lola's are mesh breasts. Most of the other mesh breasts also use the same scripting ast the tangos so they will work for all of the most popular ones on the market. The Wowmeh is a mesh replacement body from the neck down. Phat Azz, Ghetto booty, Cute Azz, etc are replacemets for the body from the waist to the ankle for those that want a curvier look withouth the distortion of the polygons you get if you try to make the default avi bigger. Since all of these parts are attachements, you have to have the appliers, which are provided by the skin makers and look better, or manually match the color, which doesn't look as good, but works, since you really can't match it exactly, not like the appliers will. Hope that helps.
  21. I can give you a few tips from an inventory managment class I took in SL. 1. Do a search for pose stands. You only need one. 2. Do a search for thank you. Do you really need all those thank you cards you get? 3. Search animations and toss all those bag holding animations. You can't use them again so toss them. 4. Search scripts and get rid of the give contents and hover text scripts. 5. Move all your landmarks from individual folders to your landmark folder then dump the duplicates. 6. Mesh clothing. What size are you wearing? Do you plan to change the size of your avi? Get rid of the extra sizes or box them up. Then make a box and put all those boxes in boxes marked Clothing, Hair, etc. 7. Do you need your plants and houses right where you can get to them or can you box them up and the pull them out when you need them. If you can, box them up. 8. In your clothing and objects folder, you can check the properties. If it's 2010 or before when you acquired it, toss it. We tend to buy the same kind of thing so you probably have something just like it in your inventory. 9. If you have textures, get an organizer. There are several free ones on the grid. Put your textures in an organizer then delete them out of your inventory or box them up. Just those few things will clear out at least 5k items if not more.
  22. I'm at 45K though I am currently working on clearing out old stuff I don't even realize I have, mostly clothes. Had a max in the 80K range, but to be fair I was moving my textures from one organizer to a different system. I've been here 6+ years. As for your friend. I might suggest, if LL didn't though they usually do, that she clear her cache. That will actually empty out her inventory and force new connections between everything. She may have to do it a couple of times though. You don't have to be logged in to do it. You can get to the preferences just opening the viewer.
  23. Curio and Rockberry have some lovely skins and have the appliers as well.
  24. What you had on was tame. Youcan wander around in a general sim in a bikini if you want to and not be violating SL TOS. That being said, a private sim can have whatever rules they want. Don't bypass PG sims because of a prude. I had on a skirt from Blowup..regular not the skimpy, and a cami and the moderator on a PG sandbox told me I had to put on more clothes, that what I had on was too skimpy. I then informed her that skimpy by their rules but by TOS on a general (formerly PG) sim, all I had to do was have the pelvic region and nipples covered and I was within the LL TOS..thanked her and left. I got banned but meh...
  25. That's mesh glitch. I'm willing to bet the top is the new fitted mesh and you haven't updated your viewer. Try updating and I'll bet that goes away. Be sure you do a clean install of the Firestorm.
