  1. No mod doesn't always mean no mod btw...for instance, I make applier clothes for the Slink Physique. My huds for texture change are no mod...they have to be. I also, for some items, include or will be including sculpt sleeves and cuffs. The item will say no mod, but it's the texture change script that's no mod. You can still mod the prim. Same is true for many houses, because of the scripts it says no mod, but the prims themselves can be modified. Just saying.
  2. Per TOS, if an avi's RL age is under 18 or whatever the age of an adult is in their country, they are restricted to General sims. To even come in to SL on general sims they must be at least 16. This does NOT refer to the apparent age of the avi within SL. There are 50 year olds playing 6 year old children, for instance. That avi is allowed on adult sims, but not around sex, also per TOS.
  3. For the game...it may have been fine for others. A lot depends on your video card as well as your connection speed. I was barely getting 12 fps but when I upgraded my computer, now, for the most part, I'm getting 25+, even at "laggy" events.
  4. part of the reason people are annoyed is if you look, you will see the OP has started a number of threads that with a bit of research on the knowledge base would have answered. The OP seems to want others to do the work for them rather doing basic research for SL.
  5. L&B (Lapoint and Bastchild) S'Wear line, Razor, ..that should get you started. Edited because I missed the male part. Still stand by the two left here though.
  6. I think about it because as an RP estate admin, I have to look at avis and judge whether they are a child or lust youngish/kawaii, which is allowed. Have to keep up on this stuff.
  7. Looks like you can upgrade some on your video card and you can install up to 8 gig of memory on it. What is meant by swapping is if your machine doesn't have enough memory, and 2 gigs really isn't enough for Win8, your computer will reserve a part of your hard drive as temporary memory as needed. It's a lot slower than actual physical memory. Hope that helps
  8. Max out your memory. With Win8, you need that. 2g is just barely enough to run your OS, forget about anything else. If you have the money, also upgrade your graphics card to the best your motherboard will support. Those specs should be with your motherboard documentation. It probably uses a PCI rather than a PCI-e slot, so you're going to have to go searching the web at places like Pricewatch.com that do the legwork for you. Good luck.
  9. Sn@tch has some. If you go to the Slink website, they do have the makers that have requested it listed and what they make.
  10. I think she may have been aiming for the Kawaii look...It's the rage in Japan right now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuteness_in_Japanese_culture
  11. You're avi does look 14-16 to me. But that's me. The club, if it has dancers and/or nudity, they are probably erring on the side of caution. A store, if they sell sex beds or other items or if there is nudity, such as you see with skins, again, erring on the side of caution. The sandbox...I have no idea. Child avis are allowed anywhere on the grid, just can't be in the presense of nudity or sex stuff. Because the Lindens have the threat of possible account termination, many don't want to risk it....shrugs
  12. Check with your local hospital. Even living a ways out of town, which I did for a while, many have office hours in smaller areas closer to you or might be willing to meet with you in a place closer to you. It might also be possible to set up webcam sessions as well. You have to ask. Most legitimate therapists want to see you face to face since part of the process is them reading your body language. They can't do that in a voice only or text environment. If your local hospital has an ask a nurse program, start there.
  13. It's also, possibly, invisible because the orientation is off and the hud maker has a transparent texture on the back.. Not all that make the huds wear them and position them correcty. So, highlight transparent then see if you see where it is. Then you can rotate it so you can see it.
  14. If that doesn't help and it's not mesh or is at least fitted mesh, you could go to edit shape then go to the eyes and decrease the eye bags, go to the mouth and increase the mouth upturn.. Once you like what you have the use the SAVE AS and rename. That way you haven't altered the original shape in case you need to go back.
  15. For the feet, Slink has 3 different heights (flat, mid, high) for different shoes. The hands come in 12 different positions. Those you can wear a different one on each hand so you could wear the elegant on the left and the casual on the right to play a guitar and look like it. If your avi smokes, there's a position for smoking. If you RP, there's the Vulcan sign. There's a victory sign, a fist, one that made for holding a purse/bag, just to mention a few. The Wowmeh works with the Slink feet and hands as well. If the body covered the hands and feet, you'd be stuck with one position for each.
  16. Mesh items' default attachement is the right hand. Since you can only have 5 things attached, it can fill up fast when you have designers that don't think to move it. As long as the item is rigged mesh, it's set to know how to attach to the avi, regardless of where the item is actually attached. I regularly move anything attached to my hand to a more appropriate spot. I also tend to use spots not commonly used. A dress, top or jacket will be attached to the left or right pec or left or right shoulder, so as to leave the more common points for designers. A skirt usually ends up attached to one or the other hip, pants to the left or right upper leg. As long as the item is rigged, and the only mesh I've seen that isn't rigged is hair and some shoes, the item will look the same.
  17. Lucky chairs use the User name since that is the name that your account is in and all your stuff is listed with. It can't be changed because that unique name is associated with your unique UUID. Display names came about when LL, in ther "infinite wisdom", decided to do away with unique surnames and replace it with Resident for all. Their logic was that it would be less restrictive on first names....bad decision. Now we have Wendy, Wendi, Windy, Windie, Wendie, etc with numbers added now because there can be only on Wendy Resident. LL thought that the display name could be used for you to set what you want to be called and also allow partnered residents to add their preferred last names...didn't quite work out the way they thought. And yes, I'd love to see the list of surnames to choose from be returned. You got some very witty names, like Peppermint Twist, Variably Silent, Sinfuldelight Fiul as examples. Best you can do is change the display name, maybe create a group that you can then have the title of "My Name Is" Otherwise, a new avi is your best bet.
  18. the SLink is from the neck down to the wrists and ankles. You can use the SL hand, feet and head or replace the feet with Slink feet or the shoes that have mesh feet. Slink has 3 different heights and there are a lot of shoes available for them. I do suggest you at least get the feet. SL feet suck. They are just paddles with line on them. There are 12 hand positions available for the Slink hands. Slink has 2 different mesh heads. Personally, though I have the body, hands and feet, I'll keep my SL head/face. I worked too hard to get it looking just the way I want it to.
  19. The body is available inworld at the store. It's 1250L but that includes 5 different skinsin 5 tomes with the appliers for them for the bod, the hands, feet and the mesh head she makes as well. You also get a dress to get you started, swo not a bad deal.
  20. For your avatar, you can technically "make" your own. You're unlikely to find a free skin for a male, but you can find low cost. You could join the 7 Deadly Skins group for $150L and get a free skin every month, for instance. There are free clothes/inexpensive on the MP. EMO-tions has free hair if you are in their group, which is free. If you are under 30 days, you can also go to Sweet Hair and get a free hair there as well. You could also spend 50L and join the Menstuff group. They have a whole wall of free stuff for members, including shapes. So for 200L you could get yourself set up very nicely. As for uploading L, I believe you can get a prepaid card and go through Paypal using that.
  21. Think of the land as a blanket between 2 chairs. There's nothing under the blanket. When you lower land your are lowering the blanket between the 2 points. To have a tunnel, you would have to put something over the dip, like the roof on a building. Hope that helps.
  22. If you are going to be a premium member and buy mainland, do create a goup and donate the land to the group. You have to have 2 members in the group, though they don't both have to be premium members. If you donate the land to the group you can get 10% more land before the tier goes up to the next level.
  23. It's going to depend on the dimensions of the parcel. You can find out the coordinates from north to south then east to west and find the center point between each. For example if most northern point is at 120 and south is at 60 then the center would be at 90. Then East at 120 and west at 60 then the center of your parcel would be at 90,90. Hope that makes sense.
  24. The new policy is probably also a way to answer players' complaints of the "clubs" for lack of a better name that have all these machines on mainland or homesteads that lag out or hog the resources of the sim they are in. It's sad when a player that pays for land can't get to their home because it's full from players in the "club." Moving them to designated sims for gaming will actually make the experience better for the rest of us by moving them out of residential areas.
  25. I appreciate the different shades of "red" since red can go from ginger to blood to wine. I wear a more blood red, I have a friend that goes ginger. One option would be to look at mesh hair that uses a hud, like Catway and Truth. Then you only have the one "hair" in your inventory and the hud. At least that way, if you decide to change your hair color, you have the options on the hud since, especially at Catwa, it's not about color groupings but about shades, light, med, dark, and fantasy.
