  1. Great. Now please address the 5-tries-and-you're-out situation. Not everybody was online when this went live, and within a few hours all the good ones were gone. It was not difficult at all to find 5 that you didn't like - by 9pm SLT all we were getting offered was what people had rejected through the day. Then we sit in time-out for 24 hours, meaning things will be even more picked over by the time we can roll the dice again. I am sure I am not the only one who has a bit of a sour taste from all this.
  2. Not much. The sky is not, in fact, falling. The original Linden Homes were going to be the doom of mainland too. Actually, isn't it the case that pretty much everything LL does is going to be doom? lol It's all still here. I have a bit over 10k sq meters on mainland, it's not going anywhere. Especially since I blew through my 5 attempts in about 30 minutes and now I have to wait 24 hours to try again - of course by then it will be even slimmer pickings, so the odds of getting anything halfway decent shrink by the hour.
  3. I too was extremely disappointed that there are no Rez Zones. All over mainland on the roads, there are Rez Zones. Scattered all around Blake Sea, there are Rez Zones. I really don't understand how they could not have them here. Having looked around and hopped around, I really think they need to get rid of that 5 house limit - I went through 5 and have to wait 24 hours to try again. The problem right now is that everything is already 'picked over' increasing the likelihood that you are getting something that somebody else rejected earlier in the day and you won't want it either. If I had been paying closer attention, I'd have made selection differently on my 5th attempt and gone back to a Quad. I know of several people who ran through their 5 and could not find anything worth keeping.
  4. It's nothing to do with distance. If you can't walk to it, you can't cam to it. This is nothing new. SL has always worked this way.
  5. If they do it like they did in the old Linden Homes - which they probably will/have - the mailbox is the root prim, that way the house does not count against the parcel. What group each is set to is irrelevant, as far as the system is concerned it's all on the same parcel as the mailbox. You can turn off ban lines in World > Show More (At least in Firestorm you can, can't say for sure on any other viewer)
  6. All I saw was that you can't deed to a group, same as with the 512's. I'm not sure where the problem is there? There is no need to deed to a group for entry control. Just set the land to the group like we always have.

  8. I keep going back to the preview sim and looking I really hope we get some other styles of houses, because this is not a style I would choose. The neighborhood has a nice feel to it, it's very pretty, but the houses themselves just don't do it for me. They look lovely from the street, but the layout inside is just useless. I may end up staying put in my Quad with my kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom till they turn the light out on me. I tried to not hate it. But so far... I hate it.

This is a result of browsers not recognizing the internal changes made during this maintenance. If you receive this error, please do a “hard refresh” of the page. This can be accomplished in most popular Windows based browsers by holding down Ctrl and pressing F5, and popular Mac based browsers by holding Shift and clicking reload in their browser.

  11. This has been a question that has come up a few times, it may have been answered here but I did not read 34 pages to find out. The finger bones seem like a great idea, but the release info I saw looked like we will not be able to attach to each bone as an attachment point. If this is the case, then one of two things will happen. Either we render existing jewelry useless, or Bento is useless before it ever goes live. It's great if the fingers move, not so great if the rings on them don't follow along. I really hope this has been addressed - I know a lot of work went into this, it would be a shame to have people not use it.

  13. The problem was that the database that many SL vendors go through did not have that avatar listed. As per our discussion in world, I have updated that database so you should have no further problems
  14. If you are seeing mesh avatars as white or black and it's under water, they have a layer using Mask Mode and odds are that you do not have Advanced Lighting Mode enabled. If it worked before and suddenly stopped working, though not always the case of course, but the most likely cause is that you have an AMD video card that auto-updated drivers. If so, replace them with the 15.x drivers. And make sure you have at least Basic Shaders and Hardware Skinning enabled. There are other things that can do it, of course, but that covers the vast majority of cases. The OpenGL alpha glitch will cause layers or parts of layers to disappear. Seeing black or white is nothing to do with the tattoo or clothing layer, it's purely a video card issue.

It's been a few days, so this may be too late, but if you look around you probably notice that the hand position that is used most often for 'hand accessories' ( includes but is not limited to jewelry) you will find that it's Casual. If you are having trouble getting the vendor to work, the point of contact at Slink is " Slink Resident " the CSR for the store.
  16. If you have removed your boots and see no feet, you almost certainly have an alpha worn that is removing them. I am not sure what boots you had on but I suppose they could be using invisiprims. It's a very outdated method, and it doesn't work at all with higher graphics settings - but the older stuff would still have them. Look in your Current Outfit folder and see if you are wearing something (two somethings, actually) that are attached to your feet, or maybe lower leg. They may have the word "Invisi" in the name. Once you get your feet back, you will notice that teh standard avatar foot leaves a lot to be desired. That is why you see third party mesh feet. Mesh feet with shoes added on is currently a popualr trend - and in some circles is considered standard practice.
  17. I too run Firestorm and the LL viewer on a Win8 computer with no issues at all. Any time there is a new OS or viewer, you can be assured that there will be vocal groups shouting from on high that it doesn't work. It only gets worse as others pick up the message and pass it on. I suspect that 99 times out of 100, it was operator error in some form. As to the issue you are experiencing, my first suggestion to try would be to wipe all traces of any viewers from your computer, reboot, and start with a fresh clean install.
  18. According to Grid Status, i'ts fixed - And I can once again access voice via my router instead of having to hijack the cable connection. I did't do anything else with the router, because frankly, I don't know enough to mess with it. It just started working again. So it wasn't anything to do with my router after all - Just a weird problem that I'll probably never understand.
  19. It's a Linksys E4200 that has been working perfectly untill this voice issue popped up According to grid status - there is indeed a problem with the voice servers. But why can I get in on a direct connect to my cable modem, yet not thru my router? Others have been reporting teh same issue as me, same behavior and error message
  20. So it would seem, yes. Except for two things. I just pulled my previous router out of the closet, and it exhibits the exact same bahavior - and - There apparently is a sudden rash of voice problems, as evidenced by other posts, some of which even show a screenshot of the error pop-up I am getting, and the issue does appear valid based upon this grid status entry: [postED 04 August 2013 12:55 PM PDT] Some residents in-world may be experiencing difficulty using voice chat. We are currently checking with our service provider to obtain an ETA on their return to service and will update as soon as we have further information.

Then I tried bypassing the router. I can log in with voice. I can use either viewer, the current versions of LL and Firestorm. So, I'm no networking guru - but that sounds wierd.

  23. Have you even been in a region where SSA was operational? Some info beyond your rant might be helpful. And seriously... You think EA actually knows what "Support" even means? Good Lord, they are probably the worst one out there and have been for ages.
  24. I figured it probably was from a kit. That doesn't much matter to me. I came to SL from IMVU where everything is derived from something else. Making mesh isn't like doing a clothing layer or rezzing a prim. It's a completely different animal. So kit or original mesh aside, it's the texture artist that makes it what it is. I had not seen what this particular designer had to offer. She does some very nice work. And though the person I saw wearing it tried to deny her a new customer, she got me anyway. So if you are reading this, sweetie... Your thinly veiled threat of copy-botting my avatar failed. As if that would do any good, as I rarely wear the same outfit twice anyway. But you needn't worry about me stealing your 'originality' as you called it. I may wear the same dress, the difference being, I will wear it well. *blows you a kiss* ttfn!
  25. Thank you - Thank you - Thank you! You guys are awesome! I loved the dress, and was hoping for another color, since my hair color probably wouldn't play well with the Plum. So it was there at Sassy! in a few colors - I grabbed the gold for me, and the Plum to send to my sis. I bet it will look stellar with her (whispers: bleached) blonde hair.
