  1. Old Linden homes have not been 117 prim for a very long time
  2. And the other vocal group just sits back and makes condescending judgmental remarks from their perceived position of superiority while the majority sit in the middle, ignoring the whole mess. This comes as no surprise to me, as after the first few days it started to be more common to be the only one in the region at any given time and a large number of homes are essentially empty, maybe a pose stand and a bed being the only decor.
  3. That might be a "No". Trying to TP out is generating the same error we were seeing when trying to get in, over here
  4. Not even that. It should be part of the house control panel, but barring that, 0.5 would be tolerable - 5 is not.
  5. So the owner of the orb, who most likely does not have mod rights on the script, and since they are the owner of it have no real way to know what it does exactly, aside from maybe a Marketplace listing... That's the villain right? Not the person who failed to script it properly before foisting it on an unsuspecting public?
  6. It's only there in the one shot - so I attributed the exhaust smoke leading to have been some rubberbanding at a region border
  7. Maybe they should have made sure it was ready to release before they made the change.
  8. Well... - Linden-supplied security orbs will be distributed via the Linden Homes Content Creation Packs early next week I know, it's Wednesday. But if there was really any concern, they would have been released with the change.
  9. If you are referring to the house with what looks like second floor furniture, like in the Winchester house, lodged in the roof of the Adams house... How was it NOT obvious that it was a house change in progress?
  10. If you have a house, you don't have water access for rezzing, and not all houseboats have a connection to the land - I abandoned one for that reason, silly design. It is less of a problem for the houseboats as most of them do have land next to them as well. But for everyone else, it's just another example of SL imitating RL where water access is for the few. At least in RL there are public launch ramps and marinas, the equivalent here would be of course, rez zones. Yay for a fair and equal community. Well done.
  11. At this point, it doesn't really matter, it's not going to fix anything. The lack of rez zones already created a gap between the "Haves & Have-Nots" and this latest move drove a big wedge into the gap and has created a division in the "community" that isn't going to go away. This is just the way things are at this point in human history.
  12. So then 90-95% of the land is banline and orb-free? So what's the big problem with them existing? Sounds' like they're kind of rare.
  13. What metrics would they have had available? The people who opposed it were the only ones saying anything. The rest were just using the tools available to them. I think your estimation of the decision process is overly optimistic.
  14. The ban lines went up at my old Linden Home the day I was on a pose stand inside my house and noticed a dot on the minimap, cammed outside and saw a guy standing naked in my Koi pond, masturbating.
  15. I couldn't agree more. But as you pointed out, it's a hallelujah thread, and dissenting opinions are not welcome. Some of us just happen to like a bit of solitude. So if expressing that means we're not welcomed into the community, all I can say to that is, thank you.
  16. So since this discussion is only about the new Linden Homes areas... You are calling that sparsely populated?
  17. Well since I see it's customary here... Your source please? I never bothered with banlines or 0-second orbs on my land. Well, till now. Is that reactionary, immature, irrational, or maybe petty? Probably. So what.
  18. I already have 10k sq meters on Mainland. The Linden Homes are a perk that I pay for, just like you do.
  19. Airliners don't fly VFR, they fly IFR and their altitudes are actually a fair bit higher in Class A airspace between 18,000 and FL-600 (60,000 ft) MSL so in use or not, your 787's are a differetn animal completely. 14 CFR § 91.119 Minimum safe altitudes: General. Except when necessary for takeoff or landing, no person may operate an aircraft below the following altitudes: (a)Anywhere. An altitude allowing, if a power unit fails, an emergency landing without undue hazard to persons or property on the surface. (b)Over congested areas. Over any congested area of a city, town, or settlement, or over any open air assembly of persons, an altitude of 1,000 feet above the highest obstacle within a horizontal radius of 2,000 feet of the aircraft. (c)Over other than congested areas. An altitude of 500 feet above the surface, except over open water or sparsely populated areas. In those cases, the aircraft may not be operated closer than 500 feet to any person, vessel, vehicle, or structure.
  20. This satisfies a vocal minority. The rest can go suck eggs, apparently. I have heard the argument that they want to be able to fly over land because in RL you can. And that is absolutely true. But you have to stay a minimum of 1,000ft above ground level, and have to maintain clearance of 1,000ft above or 2,000ft to the side of any obstacles. In SL, fly at anything over 75m above ground level and you are over the ban lines. 1,000ft clearance is about 305 meters. I think overall this is a bad idea, to restrict the many to satisfy the few.
  21. Ban lines only go up like 75 meters. I've flown all over mainland for a decade and never had a problem with them. I also don't have to dodge around trees up there either.
  22. That would also provide a place for people to rez a boat, since right now the only ones able to do that are the ones that were home and online at the right time to get a houseboat.
  23. Also... Not having ban lines so people can get around is great I guess. I never had a problem on Mainland but I suppose some did. Closed parcels are no problem if you are not flying at treetop level and buzzing rooftops. The problem is that unlike Mainland, there are no rez areas on the roads or waterways. If you want to rez a boat, you have to have a houseboat - but oops, those were gone within hours. While water access is limited in some ways to the privileged few in RL, at least there are public launch ramps and marinas.
