I think you should and suggest it to anyone else that has a land or parcels on the Mainland. I'd like to see what the long term ramifications would be.

But as Zalificent pointed out it is something like 30 out of 50k concurrent or 800k monthly users. The downside I see to your banning thing is that though it is a great alternative for those who ban and kick to home, my fear would be that those who presently only use the banlines to secure their parcel and which flying travellers can fly over after being bumped up to 60 meters, will now have a total block from traversing their land, thereby requiring the traveller to purposely go left or right to get around the ban lines. Only relevant for fliers but still a possibility that more parcels will be blocking travel.

No, I don't see it as ideal and wonder about how the Lab really feels about extending ban lines above 60 meters but as the thread title says, it is a choice to allow a less nuclear option for those who feel a 0 second orb is the only way to prevent trespass.

Well I think that they are permitted is questionable considering the Lindens do not allow them in Belliserea? and as such they at best are tolerated on the Mainland under some unstated justification or maybe them just waiting to hear enough complaints about them to finally ban their use on the mainland too. And that goes for both parties. You say you are a landowner, do you see the degree of harassment Zalificent says she does?

Some of us see that being kicked home for accidently touching their land boundary or flying over top of their LL mandated property rights ie 60 meters, as going beyond what the penalty for doing so should incur. At that point I see that the Land Owner has now escalated the situation to where they themselves have become a griefer and as such by your own words is not absolved for the responsibility of their actions.

Might be a point if your experience as a home/parcel owner equates to what another poster has mentioned for griefing stats as a result of being protected by a 0 second orb. To me the way they operate seems to create more potential for further griefing then it resolves.

There is usually a public and private option to the spankers and other RLV enabled toys and generally at least in the clubs I have frequented, one set to public means exactly that is set that way purposely either by a free sub or required by their Dom/me. To then complain that a member of the virtual public actually used the option, seems silly.

Which you should have been happy with but apparently not as you prefer to force tp home option which is abusive and quite a degree more severe then the incursion on your parcel. It's a choice and choice is good. If you choose not to exercise it then it is on your own head. At the end of the day we are all responsible for our choices and the ramifications that result from them. As I hinted at previously and now Abnor has pointed out more clearly, your issues with griefers is as a result of the choices you made. That's pretty clear to all except yourself.

No, again you are misunderstanding (probably intentionally) that the specific range could be modified.

No experience with Orbs as I have never used one but can they not be set to secure a height range of say 2000-2200? Seems to me such would be ideal for those wishing to block people flying into their skybox without hindering through access at other heights. Added-Ok see that was what Extrude is proposing. Would either setting be viable whether scripted or land setting?

I just finished a couple hour fly over some of the areas that I tried boating on 2-3 years ago to see if I saw the differences Abnor is mentioning and must admit, there was a lot less extreme privacy phobic type orbs and even less banlines. The worst I did see for orbs was a 2 second one that I luckily made it through anyway and the other 4-5 I seen were from 30-120 seconds. I didn't encounter even one 0 second orb. So thinking the one poster here is very much the exception here and the Lab could easily outlaw 0 sec orbs without causing much fuss other then what we already see.

When the ego is balanced with humility it can definitely be a good thing and required to be a good leader but without it, the ego can cause all kinds of problems. Peeve would be how hard humility can be to attain and sustain.

Heh I see that happen quite a bit where certain posters are against one person on a particular topic and then a couple threads later on they support the exact premise when it is brought up by someone else.

.In past I would find it was an issue with UDP being blocked. Quick solution for some routers is to simply restart it.

They already like to ban just the discussion of it as we just seen, so not a big stretch to take it a bit further whether it is one side or the other.
