Haven't really read the thread yet but wanted to get my 2 cents in, just in case. What hours a store sets to do business (RL or SL) within is up to the business owner. Their reason(s) for choosing a certain day/time to be closed isn't relevant. There was a time when store hours weren't as convenient as they are today. It isn't about what is convenient for the consumer. It's about what works for the owner/operator of the business.

So true and yet I giggled.

Same. Wish more people felt that way.

Only you can decide if that's good or bad for you. I have had that happen in RL but even then it didn't turn out to be more than just a passing acquaintance. I have learned from others that if you really want to maintain contact, you are going to have to put forth all the effort.

I have not said one word about "worst lines". I'm talking about all lines. Good, bad, indifferent. Doesn't matter. Using "lines" to make a connection doesn't achieve the results you want, except on a very rare occasion. Using "lines" just shows the other person you aren't very confident in yourself. It's not a good idea even when the desired result is to connect in a permanent way such as friendship. Consider the origin of "using lines" and go from there. Is it something that really has a place in today's society with an eye towards a more accepting future society? I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

And my reply was "don't use lines". The link I posted applies to everyone, not just men approaching women. I couldn't have said it better.

Not sure if moving goalposts or no true scotsman. -
Using pickup lines, in my experience, is nothing more than a means to a one night stand. If that is all you are after then keep moving. I'm not interested. Unlike 95% of the people in SL, I am not, never have been and never will be in SL for sex. Anyone who believes pickup lines are a desirable thing (what women want to hear or even men because it goes both ways) should read this: http://www.thefrequentdater.com/why-pickup-lines-dont-work/

This is why my friends list has only 38 people on it and most of them don't log in any more. The handful that do never even noticed I was gone for 4 years. Not a single one noticed when I logged back in. Not a single "Hey welcome back. Glad to see you are ok. Where the hell have you been?" since I've been back either.
