  1. The Victorians were the first regions to have cloned regions, so my moment of starting to detach was back then, even though I resisted. It felt as if there was a large cultural shift, and the ongoing building plans were required to be more cost efficient and speedily produced, and in the latter cases, more able to accommodate denser packing of homes. Maybe this really was necessary in terms of survival of the project, but it sucked the joy out of it for me, unfortunately.
  2. Yes I do enjoy solitude in SL. I love having the freedom to hop from one place to another without consulting anyone, and lose myself in just looking at what there is. This is a different feeling to visiting a completely empty grid, which does feel lonely and strange.
  3. I can understand why creators might want to avoid youtube, as some of their ways of working can be actively injurious to the mental health of creators , but bitchute has a terrible reputation for hosting extreme right wing videos so despite loving star trek I am also not clicking that link.
  4. I'm going with the 'aesthetically asynchronous' explanation the next time I burn the dinner.
  5. I guess it isn't what you are looking at, more that others will be viewing your house from the street, or from their own plot. This is the problem with some addons, that they don't have enough stability to support the street scene, and you end up looking at messy triangles on neighbouring plots.
  6. If I were to choose a neutral, and my neighbours went for shrieky pink (trademark) then I'm not sure what the benefit to me would be, of choosing the neutral? Unless I went derender mad to the point of extinguishing the whole street? I actually liked the multi-colours in the traditionals, and I totally agree that many of the exterior colour schemes of previous builds have been a bit lacking, particularly the cabins. It's a weird thing not knowing what these were meant to look like, I read them as minimal 'modern homes' during my first visit. If they are really meant to be container homes then some more fitting exterior textures would tell that story in a more satisfying way. In the end they will be Linden homes, with a name that probably doesn't really describe the style to anyone whose name does not begin with P.
  7. I totally get it, these colours don't work for this style, for me anyway. I'm not anti-colour, but this hurts my head.
  8. I think I need to volunteer for a Patch anti-focus group. (the Patch distraction collective?) I loved the white minimalism. The colours seem to change the feel, and not in a good way Aaah well, if someone wants to make a thatched roof mod for these at least I won't be upset now.
  9. I'm not sure, maybe I am better shielding my eyes after the house on water houseboat conversions trauma.
  10. @Prokofy Neva 'responding to feedback' is just a phrase that Patch uses, it doesn't mean what you think it means, ie it doesn't mean what you would mean if you said it. I hope this feedback is meaningful as the word meaning has lost all meaning to me now after all the repetition.
  11. I would really not like it if people did this to their homes, it would be like some of those Meadowbrook 'farmhouse' conversions which looked very odd and out of place to me.
  12. To me, these look better on the reveal than they do in the screen captures. I like the minimalist look of the region decor. Having a mix of plot sizes seems to help with creating variety in the layout. The interiors feel somewhat at odds with the exterior, but they are fairy neutral, so could probably be changed to suit. I really like the boundary treatments, fences and walls. I could see myself getting one of these, when things get quieter.
  13. @Matilda Melune just gorgeous! @Marianne Little what a cosy looking home. You have much more inspiration than me, I have been renting ready furnished places lately
  14. Well, I had thought that Patch and the brick were ancient enemies, so this is a surprise. Unless that is more wood on the outside of the home in the background?
  15. I've found that it is quite safe to ignore this event. I am currently looking for a browser extension which will ignore it for me and so save the mental effort.
  16. I have to do this for the purpose of maintaining sanity! (see photo edit)
  17. A very aggressive schedule? I don't like the sound of that.
  18. I gave up my premium for this year, so won't be trying these. They do look lovely but I still get weirded out by Patch (or whoever) calling these Chalets.
  19. I reckon there will be plenty of these available once the half-timbered houses are released so I'm giving myself a break from hitting Ctrl-5. I've been playing the sims!
  20. I'm busy with holiday stuff right now, and wondering what's happening in-world. Are the stilt homes being released gradually, or has this stalled? It sounds like there are mailbox glitches, are these making things impossible, or are they just now and then? How easy is it to get a nice stilts location? Thanks in advance @hoppers.
  21. Happy New Stilt Homes Forum peeps! Not sure if I'll get the chance to grab one of these for a while but they look nice. I was worried that squeezing the extra plot in would impact on the feeling of space, or reduce the landscaping by too much, but I guess if you are going to do that then this is the theme to do it with. Open water / sand looks more natural than bare grass. I hope to try these once the holiday rush is over, have fun!
  22. That's cool to know, thank you! The word 'Fachwerkhaus' comes up with a collection of houses on google which are half-timbered, and which definitely could be a design inspiration for the not-chalets. It may be a mischievious thought, but I wonder why the german moles didn't simply take photos of german houses, in Germany? 'Yes Boss, those theme park photos are lovely and very useful, we'll definitely look at those later.' Dutch influence seems credible too after visiting the build. The end result is fairly generic, which I guess gives people a chance to see these as they would like.
  23. I'm not frowning at people having fun! (except when they do it loudly and drunkenly right next to me :D) I must admit that places like Disneyworld are a turn off as well, but I can stare at an old building (or a tree) for ages.
  24. It isn't that long ago that you mentioned this spot, that's truly wonderful Chloe!
  25. It's difficult to come up with a correct category, just do your best and make sure your links are correct so the team can find things.
