  1. Dont want to ruin anyones business, but why dont you do it by yourself? You stated already kinda precise, whats in your mind. The basics you need to know, how to unpack and rez the items you bought and to move them to the desired spot in your home, are very low and easy to learn. A decorator also just will tell you what you should buy, because most SL items are no transfer, or even accompanied by no copy in the worst case. Why? Your employee would just be able to buy the items and set it up, if you grant building rights on your parcel... Once you delete the items (by accident) or because you move to another spot, you cant set it up again without the decorator help, because it never was yours, and it never will be in your inventory. Its not and it never will be your property, if someone else bought it. Just start visiting the SL marketplace, go to a sandbox, rez the demo versions before you buy anything, see how it works (maybe there are huds to change the color), and you will be fine.
  2. Im pretty sure, some people prefer private estates/homesteads over mainland/Linden homes for a good reason, whatever that may be.
  3. Oh 😩 It thought, that number would be an ISBN code. Took me almost 2 hours to type it into the amazon search box.
  4. Pretty pixels seem to be a must have for quite a lot of people. Once i visited a few crowded (partially adult) places, dancing and doing other things with a very good friend who changed his appearance to look like he is from 2007, while im mesh from head to toe. Just for fun and to know whats going to happen. Despite the fact, we just minded our own business and didnt talk to anyone else - you have no idea, how much i got attacked in countless IMs: "Watch out, a noob!" "Hurts my eyes to see you being with something like him" "I bet he doesnt know how to treat you. I´ll teleport you." "He is ugly, come to me, i have aeros." Well, that was our kind to have fun, watching all that folks having their eardrums blown by the high pressure steam, coming out from their deeply hurt and boiling soul, fueled by their own anger and envy.
  5. As an analogy, its like you want to sell caviar and champagne in a football stadium, and now you wonder, why the booth next to you, selling beer and burgers, has so many more customers waiting in a line. Its absolutely fine, if you never ever want to touch beer or caviar, so stay with what you love. Just accept the fact, the majority of people seem to want something else. But that doesnt mean you cant be succesful. Svarga lasted for so many years (its still there?) and Tempura is still crowded 24/7. Good luck and be patient.
  6. Replace the bold words with "adult furniture", and you will get the attention you seem to need so much.
  7. Im using my orb just to count visitors and nothing else, but what i also could do, if i would need to warn or kick anyone, is to change the warning and eject message by myself. So, its just up to the orb owner to set up a funny message. That sounds more like what a greeter/reminder does. Orbs (at least the ones i know) just have warning times from 0-60 seconds.
  8. I dont know python at all, but can i get the same results copying it into a excel sheet in order to sort it? I just need to know, whats the biggest millisecond value, right?
  9. Probably all of them using the last name "Linden" I imaging them walking around in the postapocalyptic world, once called SL. Being hunted by animesh zombies...
  10. Good idea. Then i wouldnt do any harm to the SL grid.
  11. Somehow i expected already it wouldnt be that easy, otherwise everyone would do it that simple way I´ll try to read and understand the whole post you just wrote. Im an absolute mesh newbie, and maybe your pics and descriptions help me a bit.
  12. Thank you. Ill try some more complex objects. Is there a guide value, how big/small the impact should be when its about polygons and vertices?
  13. I just need to look back at my own SL history to know why things are the way they are. 12 years ago, there was almost nothing i couldnt build with prims, no matter if its a necklace or a ferris wheel. Just deform, color and stack the prims in the best way, and its done, more or less. I loved to build inworld, having my friends next to me in the sandbox, telling me what looks nice and what doesnt... Sculpties were first to do some damage to my SL experience. It was not the fact it took me quite a long time to get good results, it was more about i was forced to create my object in a program running on my laptop, and not inside SL. Thats not what i want... If i do something for SL, no matter what it is, i want to stay inworld. Mesh was the cherry of the cake. Im too lazy and probably also too stupid to learn how to use programs like Blender or Maya. I would have to dedicate too much time just to learn the basics. Even though, i tried, but failed. And the result? These days im also a fashion doll, trying to get the look i like the most. And if i should get bored about changing clothes, im loitering around the SL marketplace, buying pretty mesh things for my home. All the improvements we have seen in SL (especially mesh and bento) gave us a better experience, but most of the people (including me) were outrun by the fast developing progress. SL turned into something where normal users cant keep up with, when its about creating new content. Im not really sad about, just a bit
  14. Denial of reality is also a way to handle things...
  15. I bet, LindenLabs has all the information you need. Just try to ask them.
  16. Why dont you ask the person running that homepage, if there is more data to provide?
  17. You would choose the fixed landing point, IF you would set up ads. I got it. But you need to understand, others do set up ads in the non-hypothetical world. And for them its not a "IF thing", so they do what works best, even if you dont like it. I also have an ad blocker in my browser, and on my public parcel i dont have any ads at all.
  18. What made you change your mind? Yesterday you said, someone should find out, if the current strategies are right or wrong about where to place ads and the landing point. And now you just would choose what you questioned 24 hours ago?
  19. I bet its preferred to have them being silent. But it would be too funny, if once in a while the bot shouts "i want my money back", or throwing popcorn or peanut particles. Thats why you should go for copyable items.
  20. At least 24 hours. My ISP forces a reconnect every 24 hours. But as it happens very fast, SL maybe even wont notice it and an avatar could stay online for several days!? But that doesnt cover the risk of being disconnected by a region restart. The solution for that problem would be to use the Android Lumiya app, which offers a automatic relog option. Combined with RLV and a force sit you could talk to afk avatars until your tongue falls off.
  21. I doubt that. But thats also just my personal assumption Even Abbotts Aerodrome, where people constantly fell out of the sky, had a fixed landing point, as far as i remember.
  22. You are just assuming. Did you ever think about the possibility, someone or a lot of people tried this already? Im pretty sure it just didnt work, otherwise you wouldnt have a reason to create that thread at all. Just think about how RL supermarkets are set up. Even if you just need three items, its most likely you have to walk through the whole store to get what you need, and probably you end up with 6 items in your shopping cart. To give a drastic example i ask you to imagine to be allowed to land directly on the ballroom dancefloor at "Franks Place". Who would leave it to check out the vendors placed at the former fixed landing point? Or do you want to set them up around the dancefloor?
  23. Hello, one of my friends runs a club and wants to set up a big screen to play Youtube videos. Turning a simple prim into a media object just works half way, because if he chooses a video, i cant see neither his selection, nor the video running. What i get instead, is the YT homepage, being able to play my own video of choice. I remember having seen a TV/screen long time ago, where my friend was able to see, where i clicked and what videos i played... What did i do wrong this time? Or is there a script needed?
  24. As houses are most likely not set as a physical object, it will stay upright, no matter how steep the slope is. Maybe this could be your setup
