  2. Cant get that transformer to work. Whats the rocket science behind?
  3. 10K for a custom avatar. Lol. Maybe creators dont want to do a massive amount of work for little payment? Ever thought about that?
  4. Welcome back Whole europe is in your timezone or close to. You shouldnt narrow it down by insisting on GMT, let alone your 12 hour long day and night shifts. To me it looks like, with your time schedule you are set to meet people from all over the world at any time. My best advice is to hang a places that reflect your interests. If you are into cars, try the SL drifter scene, if you like to dance, pick one of the thousand clubs in SL, if you like to read the bible - im sure, there is also a group or a community for, and so on... If you hang with like-minded people, the chances to split ways or to run out of things to talk about, is way less likely than just connecting with another person that also doesnt do anything else than just "connecting".
  5. There is some furniture and Animations HUDs out there, running some pretty evil animation scripts, as i would call them. No matter if you get up from the furniture, or teleport away, no matter if you do a restart or reset animations. the avatar will keep moving/dancing/bouncing. My workaround is to never accept hug or dance invitations anymore. and in the rare cases i should happen to sit on such a "evil" furniture, i make sure to select a pose that doesnt animate my bento before i get up. Maybe try to remember where you have been before. Go back to that place, sit on that same furniture and choose a static animation if possible.
  6. Oh, those lovely double standards by Linden Labs. While we need be protected at all costs from vulgar avatar names, approximately 30% of all adult intercourse places in SL have R A P E either in their title or the descripion. They even pop up, when an innocent user just searches for "love".
  7. Didnt watch the video to verify it, but the title does look like its what you asked for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGknJlB7iNM
  8. In the first years of my SL i didnt bring a lot into, other than the interest of being creative, building a lot of stuff with prims. Later on, SL would push me gently to extend my skills in Photoshop by doing paintjobs for various vehicle classes, and lately also getting myself into blender, finally catching up with the modern times. My social behavior undoubtably took at hit, tho. Back then there was literally nothing that would set me up. I just would smile and kept heading my way. These days (the last few years) my fuse got significantly shorter, what i really dislike. So, even if i run out of any inworld projects, i can still work on myself, thats at least something
  9. I doubt it. Afaik Windlight and EEP only constists of a few texture layers. Particles are probably way worse on a PCs performance.
  10. Its completely up to you, if you want to sell single pieces or a complete outfits. If you see at top appearing 8 times in a package you bought, then its because its rigged for different mesh bodies to give it a snug fit. In case i misunderstood you, and you meant you saw an identical piece of fashion at two different stores in SL, then its because many of them only buy the full perm mesh templates and only colorize and texture them to make them kinda unique. There are HUD kits available on the marketplace, providing you at least the scripts, often also the prim and texture you can use as a starter. There is probably no need to pay a scripter or to reinvent the wheel, unless you want to have something very special. Hiring someone is always an option, but make sure to get the conditions right. Paying someone 200 Lindens for 2 hours of work and expecting to get the product full perm with rights to resell is not very likely. But like mentioned in No.2, most of the things you probably need is already there. There is nothing like a base/main mesh, but there are 3 ways for you to can make our own clothes -you buy full perm clothes, and then you color themyourself , add a HUD, pack them, and resell them -you buy full perm clothes (including the 3D project files, you can open and alter in Blender), colorize them, add a HUD, pack them and resell them. -You do all by yourself. Instead of buying clothes ready to use, you open blender and start from scratch. You would need to create a top on your own, and then you need all the dev kits for all the bodies you wanna rig that top for. When done, then you proceed with adding a HUD, packing and selling it. Its nice to see people like you being creative, but i get the feeling about you wanting too much in too less time. I dont know how hard or easy it is to create stuff in IMVU, but even when you go down the most easy route, using full perm clothes, it will take you hours to get a complete outfit ready. If you dont really know what you do, it will take days or weeks, as you still need to figure out how to make the HUD work, and how to create a texture for in Photoshop, as you probably want to use your own color palette, as you need to roam the marketplace or stock images websites for patterns for your clothes. You also need to figure out how to add your items to your markeplace store and many things more. Long story short - pick one topic you would like to do the most and then get the basics first. If its houses or furniture, its actually kinda easy. Create and texture a chair in Blender, upload the mesh and texture to SL. And then you try to add poses or animations with AVSitter.
  11. I sadly dont have any solution for this issue, as i suffer from another one myself @Wulfie Reanimator Like you mentioned above, I do get logged out by force constantly when crossing sims (sailing, flying), and i get the respective message "you've been disconnected from second life" It happens mostly after 5-20 sim crossings. Im crossing the border into the next region (pretty smooth), loose all control, keep sliding over the whole region and then i hit an invisible wall. After 30 seconds i get logged out. Very often i also see regions around me turning red for a few seconds on the minimap and then back to normal, before i make the next crossing where i finally will die, while others dont have an issue at all. Im not aware of having changed anything since half a year, where the issues started suddenly. im connected with a cable to my router, my packet loss is 0, ive tried with an alt and experienced the same problem, switched between 3 different mesh bodies, even used the system avatar, clean FS reinstall, etc. What i didnt try yet is what was mentioned above by someone... leaving ALM on. Any other ideas, maybe?
  12. Only LL employees can do that, and right now i dont see a reason why they should. What an attitude. Thank you for the offer, ill stick to youtube tutorials to keep my little blender skills afloat.
  13. Yes, thats true, i did the trace on secondlife.com, as i didnt know any better. Tracing your address gives me quite a long list. Later ill do a long distance travel over 100 region, just to be sure...
  14. Update: I dont wanna celebrate too early, but after Nalates suggestion to do the flushdns thing, the route went way shorter, and no timeouts anymore. i did the tracert around 10 times within half an hour. It always looks like this now. I was now flying full speed from nautilus to second norway and back, 3 times. must be around 100 regions crossed, with no hickup at all. Tonight or tomorrow ill do the other stress test, sailing against 10 other boats at Eden. Thats where i always crash shortly after the start line. Thank you all so far for the suggestions and help.
  15. Not really sure how to decipher it. "Zeitüberschreitung" means timeout, tho I actually dont have any lag or problems to move as long as i stay in the same region, no matter if i walk or use a vehicle. Looks like it also takes different routes, sometimes Thank you for the extensive troubleshoot list you provided. I flushed the DNS for now and will try flying later. I can rule out wifi issues, as my computer is connected with a cable to the router thingy. Speed is actually fine. i think Yes, i also make sure not to fly into sim corners, otherweise i could blame them. I fly over open water at blake sea in a straight line, and boom, i die. Had the lag meter and the statistics bar open yesterday. Was cruising around blake in a helicopter and had a constant packet loss of 0.2%. That value didnt even change when i made the final sim crossing, the one killing me. All values remained fairly the same. But as i wasnt flying over open water anymore, i noticed something else strange. While i started at Hollywood AP where everything was rezzed fine, at the time of me getting back to, everything had vanished. I couldnt see it on the minimap anymore, neither just by looking out of the window, There was only open water left. I was just 50 meters away from the border to hollywood airport at blake, and my draw distance was set to 192. It was just gone, like all the regions behind it towards second norway. The moment i die, my vehicle keeps moving until the next sim border to get stuck there, and then it looks like this mostly. The current pic shows me (moments before being logged out) going from blake sea-mediterrean to santa catalina. everything is gone, even the world ends there. the unaccessible water level is lower than the one i come from. thats why i can see even the seabed when camming over the crossing im stuck at.
  16. For me it was. Since all the "stuff" got moved to the amazon cloud, sim crossings have been a blessing for me. I actually never had issuse there. Even flew in a paramotor from south Belisseria all the way up to to blake sea, crossing over 200 region in a single take, without a single hickup. Since november 2022 it suddenly changed. I barely make it over 5-10 region crossings without loosing control and subsequently getting logged out. If i fly and sail anywhere over blake sea, i die. If i sail at the Eden regions, i die, getting logged out, while others from the race group are just fine. Sometimes while sailing i even see regions around me turn red on the minimap for 20 seconds and then return back to normal, while others being with me dont see that happen at all. Shortly after im logged out by force. Tried a clean reinstall, made a very lightweight outfit, switched back to maitreya from legacy, used different viewers like SL viewer, FS, BD without any luck. Shrugs
  17. Sounds, texture and gestures uploads are free of charge for PP accounts. But there is a small trap/bug when uploading mesh. If the upload texture option is checked in the mesh upload, 10 L$ are added to the mesh upload fees. To avoid that, i upload only the mesh, and do a separate texture upload for 0 L$
  18. After reading it three times i see where you are coming from. Yeah, its true, my.secondlife.com doesnt have the same profile pic like the inworld profile, and cant be changed. I guess its a bug, like many other things. I wouldnt rate it priority A to get it fixed, tho.
  19. Just because something is possible, it doesnt mean its done anytime soon. Especially when you write about that little issue in the forum. If you wanna have a small chance getting minor inconveniences like profile pictures solved, open a jira ticket. Besides that, LindenLabs is a company like anyone else. They have to earn money in order to pay their bills and staff. Its not a state run wellfare organisation. Thats why uploading a texture costs 10 L$. If you want to avoid it, go Premium Plus for 249 US$ a year. Then every sound, texture and gesture upload is for free.
  20. Its three things (platforms). They dont connect with each other. -Rolig described how to change the picture on the official forum at community.secondlife.com -You know yourself how to change the picture at my.secondlife.com -Yes, you have to pay 10LD while being in SL to upload a picture in order to make it your inworld profile pic. Its not connected to the SL website, the forums or anything else. You can do uploads with most viewers, tho, like firestorm, the LL viewer, blackdragon, catznip, etc.
  21. There is little to no control you ever will have about how other people will see your avatar. And thats not limited to SL only: -If you would turn graphics to ultra in a first person shooter, your enemy still might see you as a chunky pixel mess, as they prefer 200+ FPS over nice graphics. -Post a nice picture you made and edited on Flickr or here in the forum. While you maybe balanced the colors to perfection, using a expensive Eizo screen, 98% of the people looking at your picture will use their HP, Samsung and low-mid price business laptop screens, or looking at your pic with their overly bright set cellphons, seeing a quite different color scheme than you have intended. Your choice of words doesnt really sound like you are interested in many other things than just making sure to look good for people surrounding you, despite the technical impossibility. That will make the bubble you can live in very small. And after all its still a game, not a RL clothes manufacturer, where you as a fashion artist really would have to make sure, that your creations leave their factory exactly the way you ordered them, for example.
  22. When teleporting to a place, your viewer might get the local EEP settings, thats true. But you always can override it, as these settings are local. You dont have to stick to it. I really tried, but i cant understand why that small "inconvenience" even bothers you. For example, in case you love the CaWL Windlight as it illuminates your avatar perfectly, just make it your standard WL/EEP setting, or choose whatever you fancy or whatever you have created yourself. I would say: Having low expectations and being creative is almost a guarantee for having a blast in SL, for years and even decades.
  23. Its often also necessary using the undeform option after getting up from the latest adult furniture, as they also influence the avatar physics and they often do get stuck after.
