I'm sure i've spoken to bots in the past and -- surprise surprise -- they didn't answer me. :matte-motes-tongue: There was a 'model' in the store where my friend used to work and i'd make a little comment each time i saw him. A flirtatious comment. *blush* He was a bot, but i'd never have known. I only found out when my friend told me. Would i know now? Maybe not. I guess the profile or lack of it would be the giveaway?

No, Darrius. They were real people. They all were on my radar as 'out of range' but i was able to click on their names and read their profiles. There was a good mix... a bit of waffle about Gor, some other waffle about bdsm and some other folk who actually seemed quite interesting. :matte-motes-silly: I'm confused about what a bot is. Are they alts?

You do know that all items received from Marketplace arrive in your "objects" folder? They'll all be in boxes that you need to unpack, NOT folders.

Oh, Cerise! You've just reminded me of another problem i have. That rotten shortcut [Ctrl+`] has never worked for me. But, yes, i always have the 'more' thing open with the size set to current window. I also agree that cropping has to be done at a later stage. I wouldn't like what i ended up with at all if i left it to the automatic cropping. :matte-motes-dead:

I tried that in the past, Peggy, but it didn't change anything. :matte-motes-frown: I had an idea that this problem had been mentioned before as a bug, but i could've imagined that. I also seem to recall there was something SL related i could get or install that would fix it but, again, my memory is really hazy on it. I think i must've been doing one of my 'all-nighters' when i read it or imagined that i read it. *sighs* Not being facaetious; i really don't recall. :matte-motes-bashful:

One of my favourite things to do in SL is photography, but i have a small problem. I'm sure i read about this somewhere either here or on the old forums but i don't recall if there was a solution. When i go to take a snapshot, what appears on my screen and what i get in my snapshot aren't the same. The view has moved up a bit (quite a bit, actually) and the things that were at the edge of my screen are cut off (again, quite a considerable amount). Yes, i could cam out to get more in, but then i'd have to further increase draw distance -- not all the time, but sometimes -- which isn't without its problems, too. I don't want to whack it right up if i don't have to. Whilst i've learnt to adjust for this anomalie, it remains a pain in the a***. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether i use V2 or Phoenix. Is there any fix for this? Thanks!

Yes. When i clicked on the mini-map to take me there, i'd get the message "couldn't TP closer to destination". I suppose it could have been some "exclusive" location that i wasn't granted access to, for whatever reason. But that isn't how it normally works, is it? Usually, one can tp anywhere one likes and IF there's a security orb one gets advised at the point of arrival and then given a few seconds to leave. Well, that's what i'd always assumed. Perhaps there's a simple explanation, but i can't figure it out at all. 

I can't really help with this, but i think (i hope) this is just a temporary blip that will go away on its own. Sometimes my avie gets a kind of 'water on the ankle' effect. THAT is a temporay effect so hopefully yours is too.

Oh, well, this topic maybe answers a query i had last night. I was at this incredibly dull "club" type place but on the minimap i could see about 20 green dots not so far away, albeit out of range on my radar. I flew around a bit and couldn't locate them. I guess they were all way up in the sky having a great time. Why am i always on the outside of things? Huh? :matte-motes-bored: Yes, i really AM a miserable sod today!

RL is much of a muchness lately, so i'll skip. SL frustrated - the lag which has been so pervasive over the past couple of days. I'd forgotten how irritating it was. Did i get used to lag lack? SL happy - prospect of new skins. Skins always get me a little bit happy, and i've seen some new ones that look thoroughly delectable. If you're talking about overwhelming joy, however, no, not today. :matte-motes-bored: I'm not always such a miserable sod... :matte-motes-asleep: but, yeah.... i kind of am, actually. Today, i am. *moan* *gripe* etc. To end on a plus note, this was a great idea for a thread. We need more like this.

I don't know. It's really difficult for me even to give a number. At first i was gonner say '4' due to the fact that i seldom mind sharing RL stuff and usually volunteer it. But i don't expect or ask for the same back; it's not a big deal to me. I have a few friends here whom i know purely on an immersionist level and i can honestly say i don't care who's behind the av. If you present as, say, a child, in SL, then that is how i'll treat you, no questions asked. Although i don't RP here, i have my 2 homes and i breed my kittycats, and enjoy various things here, not confined to spending time with my SL partner (RL details exchanged, but he'd likely have become my SL partner, regardless). That sounds fairly immersionist to me. So where do i fall on the scale? Now that i've written all that out, i'm going to go for a '6' or so.

YES, you were being rude by telling "people to turn their mic on". You've no right to demand that others use voice if they don't want to. Neither are they required to provide you with an explanation. Hate typing? Then get yourself some Mavis Beacon. You'll build up your speed in no time.

@ eka Yes, i see what you mean. I'll admit i was equating 'adult' with sex stuff in SL. In my kid alt, i can't be seen around such places but that is very much ok with me! There are so many other things my kid can do and places she can go. :matte-motes-asleep-2:

If you're a child avie i don't get why you specifically want to hang out at adult areas? They're denoted 'mature' for a reason. I made a child avie a few days ago on an alt, just to see what it's like being a kid here. It will attend an SL primary school and have playmates its own age. I've no desire to take it to adult areas 'cos what would be the point? Either it's a kid here, or it isn't. You can't have it both ways. When i get bored or i want to do adult things, i go back to being Squashy. Simples!

I think what Knowl said, and you are, of course, entirely dependent on the good will of the seller. You should copy and paste the details of both transactions from your account history, too; then there's no question that you purchased the same thing twice. You can find this on dashboard, but there's also one on your Marketplace. Very useful, too, for things that you purchase but which, for some unknown reason, don't arrive. Happens to us all at some time. :matte-motes-bored:
