Jaysus.. that Rudol Phukka guy is a troll from Forum Confidential. But even without knowing that, you are better off not responding. Anyone with such a prediliction for asterisks and 'return' key is clearly on a wind-up. How obvious can it be?

Well, read the TOS. Anyone who claims they can over-ride the TOS -- cannot. That is the long and short of it. Your personal IM's cannot be used or spread around without your explicit consent. NOT your "implied" consent -- your explicit consent. I'm sorry; I'm tired. Others will elaborate, i am sure. Edited for the usual spelling mistakes, blah blah

Thank you so much everyone for your informative answers. It has cleared things up a lot. No more waiting on draughty station platforms for me! :matte-motes-smile: And, Storm, i will undoubtedly take you up on your kind offer.

All the World's a Stage....
squashy Beeswing replied to Mayalily's topic in General Discussion Forum
Oh, i probably have it wrong but i always read that line to be about Fate. It doesn't say we are "players"... Rather, it states that we are "merely players". It's as if we're reading from a pre-written script. We don't know the outcome but the stage is set, the ending already written. Life itself is a fait accompli. All we can do is read our parts. Depressing, isn't it? :matte-motes-bored: ETA: Since you asked about SL, i confirm that i write my own script from start to finish. That's the big difference. RL sucks; I have A LOT more control about how my SL pans out. -

Keli, it is really expensive. If one of the alts get something new, the main avie has to have it as well, or jealousy erupts. Main avie and first alt really don't get along as it is, so i do anything i can to help keep the peace. :-P
-
I have 4 alts and have never used any of them for nefarious purposes. What amuses me is that guys who've met all or some of them in the past will often ask me whether this or that alt is "taken" when they know damn well that the main avie is partnered. Nice try! In fact, my partner gets 4 for the price of one, and is quite content with the arrangement. And, no, i can't log in 2 at the same time with anything like consistent results so the answer to your unspoken question is "no" or "not yet, anyway". :matte-motes-big-grin-wink: My 4th alt is a child and she is a different case altogether. My point? Just about everyone has alts and there are dozens of reasons for having them. I made my first alt in order to give the main avie a little peace and quiet. I enjoyed the process so much that i made a couple more. I dress them differently to accompany their different characters, which appear to have evolved quite by accident and over a period of time. Of course, they're really all facets of the main avie (me). It was quite an interesting experiment and still is. Uhm.. my point. Please don't judge everyone who has alts by the few (ok, the many) bad apples. If they weren't messing around with their alts they'd simply find other methods by which to deceive / rip people off / have multiple secret liaisons. It's not the alts, it's the people behind the alts and, as Immy pointed out, what they choose to do with them that counts.

Will i get banned from sl?
squashy Beeswing replied to sakura Gearz's topic in General Discussion Forum
I hope you're ok. My thinking is you'll be all right; it sounds pretty damn trivial.... As in the case of Jeremy Kyle (*worships*), do follow up and let us know what happened! -

squashy Beeswing replied to Pamela Galli's topic in General Discussion Forum
Ohhh! I sort of gathered you two were friends... :matte-motes-grin: You were fortunate to bump into such a knowledgable person. Venus has helped myself and many others on the forums. She is always disinterested and unbiased. You were / are extremely lucky. I mean that. -

Storm Clarence wrote: My experience mimics that of Cait's. I was lost then I was found. Oh to be a N00b again. "I was lost then i was found". That line is guaranteed to... well, never mind. :matte-motes-big-grin: Suffice to say, i'm curious. I doubt that i'm alone. Exactly HOW were you found, Mr Clarence? WHO rescued you from info-hub / welcome area 'hell'? Did you acquire a mentor/mentors? Tell, and tell all! -
You betcha! I'd love to. :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2: Ty!

I want to travel the SL railways but i think i'm doing it wrong. :matte-motes-dont-cry: AFAIK, I find a station, and i wait. Yet no train ever appears! I know it sounds a lot like British Rail (as was) but i'm being 100% serious. So, my questions are: 1) Is there a time-table i should be looking at? If there is such a thing, it's not obvious. 2) Do trains come by at regular intervals? I'm thinking in the region of, say, every 10-15 minutes, as opposed to every 2-3 hours (not that i've actually *seen* a train yet; i'm just sayin')? Or -- 3) Am i supposed to summon one and make it appear? Please help a frustrated (would-be) traveller. :-)

Hahahahaha! Omg! Yes, Dres, i remember that one well. <3 I'm afflicted with what i pretentiously like to call a "pop sensibility" which basically means if it's melody driven and it's kinda catchy, i'm there! Shameful but true.... Oh, and I love, love, love! Bruno Mars 'cos (a) he fits the above criteria and (b) he's hawt.

Caitlin Tobias wrote: I think I have told it before, ages ago...But I was really a naive noob. After being born on Orientation Island in 2007, I thought that was it. As in: this was Second Life! W00t! I had no clue there was more land or what the grid was. I opened the map, but figured it showed the land I was on. I spent around 3-4 weeks on Orientation Island, and found it amazing! I editted my 'Girl Next Door' avatar into a colourful person, not knowing how ridiculous I looked. Well, I hardly had any other examples, living in between other noobs! I did found it odd lots of people dissapeared and some I never saw back, till one day a guy told me you could actually leave this place and you were not supposed to stay here forever. Hang on? There was more?! LOL! Ok, this is exactly the sort of thing i would normally do... Idk why i didn't. I went off wandering. Then again, i embarrassed myself totally in other ways! :-D -

I was orange for a few days having accidentally put on a skin from the 'library' without realising it. I went to a very cool blues club whilst wearing system hair. I actually thought it kind of resembled my RL hair. *blush* To their credit, they were polite and welcoming. I trespassed inside someone's home and got pulled up by a security guy. I didn't understand that land and homes could belong to someone. -
Yes. As soon as i saw the OP and the original pic i thought 'Analogue Dog'. Their curly hair is very distinctive. Stolen.
