It depends on which facelight, surely. There's a vast difference between a discrete, 'polite' facelight and those that light you up like the Second Coming. I *only* use mine for photography purposes, when my chosen windlight settings are too dark for my face to show. Otherwise, i really don't see the point of them. TBH, they're a bit of a perma-noob indicator, much like blingy shoes and body oil.

I'm going to agree and say that on the few occasions i've attended a club, no-one EVER IMs me and the local chat is dead in the water, too. Idk why this is 'cos i've made friends everywhere else i go, often when just out shopping or exploring. If i do happen to be at a club and i'm not with anyone, i always end up just taking snapshots of my avie. Sigh.

Try Uncle Web as well. It looks like something they might carry, either in the male or unisex lines.

I used to get this a lot... then hardly at all... then it started happening again, and i found out eventually that it was the tattoo layers that were causing the problem. I take them off one by one and as if by magic, i reappear! Then i add the tattoo layers back, one by one. Hope this may help.

Yes, as Coby said, there is a definite bug with tattoo layers or multiple tattoo layers. Other things i like to try are to go into "edit appearance" and then click out again. Also, strange as it may sound, changing eyebrows often works. It's a good idea also to keep a saved outfit that comprises clothing, hair, skin, eyes, etc and "replace current outfit" with the saved outfit when you become a "mist". Often it will bring you back. Plus, of course, rebake. :-)

Gadget is right. At least upgrade your video card and download the latest, mesh compatible viewer. This world is amazing and can be achingly beautiful but you will never see it like that on a "toaster".

I really want to play more with shadows and DOF, but whenever i try i end up with 2 thin criss-cross lines on each snapshot as if the picture had been cut into quarters. I've heard this is a common 'bug' or flaw but how do i fix it? I apologise if this has been brought up before. I'm using Firestorm Viewer and have a Nvidia 460 graphics card. Thanks. Eta: i already tried turning off 'high res snapshots' in the Advanced menu, so i don't think it's that.

I think what you're trying to say is that it's an abuse of people's Xmas 'good will', not that it's an abuse of Xmas itself. Personally, i have zero good will at Xmas -- far less than at any other time of the year -- so consider me immune. And, no, i don't think anyone's going to get RL rich from begging in SL. That's preposterous.

Yes, same problem as Griffin. Up to now i'd been opening an IM to an alt and pasting the SLURL in there, but his method seems better. :smileyhappy:

I get that message sometimes but AFAIW you still can teleport to the location, so it doesn't bother me too much. I guess if i was getting the message 9 times out of 10 it would become irritating though.

1. Fantastic job, Marianne! I don't think i ever get mine as good a match as yours. 2. I don't like the fact that my freckles stop at my ankles if i wear prim feet / shoes with a hud. Yes, i could go without the freckles, but do i want to? NO!

Venus is right. Trying on / shopping for skins isn't only about updating your look, it's also fun. I don't think i will ever feel that i own enough skins or get tired of acquiring new ones. :matte-motes-wink:
