  1. I think probably everyone is affected. No way to fix it; just wait til they get it sorted out. Hopefully everything will be up and running before too long.
  2. There are complete child avies on Marketplace for about 25L. You can ditch the clothes, eyes, hair etc. if you don't like them (this is what i did when i made my own child avie for my alt) and just keep the shape which is modable. I liked the shape and only needed to tweak it a very little. IM me inworld if you'd like a link. :matte-motes-grin:
  3. @ Melita and the OP There are links to Pussycat's blog at the bottom of her forum posts. :matte-motes-wink:
  4. Yes, what Pussycat said. Kittycats were all the range, but it's well nigh impossible to start making money from them now; the market got saturated. I suspect it's the same with Meeroos. Those who got in early probably did quite well out of it. As to getting information about the various traits, i'd suggest joining a group related to whichever animal you decide on. That said, it's not at all difficult to pick it up quickly as you go along. I've bred a few cats for fun and enjoyed it. It's so exciting when your cat pops out a kitten! Good luck with your new venture, whichever animal it turns out to be. :matte-motes-grin:
  5. Lol, yes, i know what you mean. I like to explore but hadn't really bothered about the sim on which i lived. I'd been there a year before i realised the Forum Cartel was in the same location and i could fly there in a matter of seconds. I've moved since then.. :matte-motes-big-grin:
  6. Yes, I remember my own newb days and it was all very confusing. For some reason, the idea of changing avatar shape / skin confounded me. I'd no idea what a skin even did, and shapes were a mystery. And then there was the whole issue of clothing layers! I know the information's out there and that's great, but, AFAIK, you have to search the forums or read various blogs in order to find it. It should be more readily available. ETA: Or else there's the video tuturials which i forgot to mention (overlooked them as a newb as well) which are really good and helpful. I guess, really, they should be your first port of call.
  7. I can now recommend both AO's mentioned. :matte-motes-grin: They aren't cheap but if you're going to spend on posh frocks for dancing or long dresses for role playing, then something like this is a worthwhile investment. Your clothing will look SO much better on you. Most AO's are way too energetic for gowns & such. :matte-motes-grin:
  8. I do not find them cute. Kittycats was the craze before meeroos and they still are way more attractive IMO.
  9. Thanks, Melita. I'll look at that one as well.
  10. That's the one! I couldn't locate the thread for the life for me. Thank you so much, Sylvia!
  11. Hello. I'm trying to find a ballroom AO which was recommended to me on the old GD forums. At the time i got the free one but i'd now like to get the full version. It is not available on Marketplace. I know it can be found on one of the Victorian sims, but that's all i remember. That, or can anyone recommend an AO with subtle leg movements? I hate it when the prims of my long dresses are flailing around like crazy. Thanks. :-)
  12. But not just him. Where are they all? Okay, i know 2 got banned but they can't *all* be posting on those other forums, can they? I do miss the hustle bustle of the old GD. Yes, it could get mean and bitchy and idk what all else, but it had a flavour. These days it's so bland.
  13. @ Mayalily It wasn't a conscious decision, as such. I never really thought about the age until i made my first alt, and the alt seemed to emerge as a more down-to-earth and less silly / emotional character (though they all are me, regardless). That's when i decided that if the alt is around 27 and an older sister type, then Squashy probably is about 18. And it seemed to fit perfectly with her look and general demeanour, and the sort of silly mistakes Squashy made when she first came to SL. *rolls eyes* I'm sure this sounds ridiculous and it probably is, but that's how i saw it and still do. :matte-motes-bashful-cute:
  14. Hello. :-) I keep the shape, but i change skins, hair, eyes every couple of days or so. I still look like squashy cos there are certain things i always will go for in a skin or a hair, and the underlying shape doesn't alter -- only little tweaks around the mouth or eyes to make a skin 'fit' better.
  15. This is true. I recently fixed my arms. I think they're at 80 right now and for the taller alts it's 85, but i still may increase further. A lot of male avies especially have their hands dangling just below their waists. It looks ridiculous with the over-emphasised triangular torso.
  16. I don't know about a black list. I do know what you mean, though. I've also noticed A LOT of very silly reviews written by noobs who claim they haven't received the item, or they misread the description of the item, or they perhaps don't understand English sufficiently to understand what it is they're actually buying. I imagine those one star ratings can be pretty annoying, especially when you're starting out as a seller and only beginning to getting known. There must be some solution but i don't think a black list is really it. One can't really penalise noobs for being, well, noobs. ETA: in the case of them griefing your store, i'd say go ahead, ban their asses!
  17. From what i hear, V1 type viewers will be phased out sooner rather than later. I figured i may as well get used to Firestorm viewer. Since i'm familiar with V2 (though have been using Phoenix for preference) making the switch was easy. I get much better performance from Firestorm than i ever have from V2.
  18. Awwww. He is a cutie. He looks very small. A youngster?
  19. Haha. Does this happen? When i was 2 months old, yes. He was short, fat, balding and pushing 60. I try not to go by appearances, but he had a chip on his shoulder a mile wide and clearly hated women. Me? My avatar doesn't even do me justice. :matte-motes-oh-rly:
  20. Yes, DO go to the gym! Even just walking on the treadmill for 30 mins 3-4 times a week will help alleviate any aches or stiffness caused by too much SL time. Very good for mental stress, too. Now, if you could just help me up from this chair i may even start to practise what i preach. :matte-motes-big-grin: Seriously, get into good habits now before you really get sucked into the SL lifestyle.
  21. However, the purpose as we where told, was to enable better role playing which is clearly a dying art that few participate in. Hmmm. I'm not sure why you would say that roleplay was "clearly a dying art". My understanding is that various kinds of roleplay have always been extremely popular in SL. Like you, i would say that 90% of the people i personally know in SL don't roleplay, but that doesn't mean there aren't many people who do. It really depends on where you go and whom you mix with. Travel further afield and i guarantee that you and i both could find roleplayers a-plenty. :matte-motes-kiss:
  22. Yes, i agree with Suella. I don't think it's the breast physics themselves so much as where you happen to be wearing them. I've seen them look okay in locations where it's not too busy. Where there's a lot of lag, you tend to get the effect of a sock filled with jelly swinging around.
  23. I'm sure i've bought from you before and i found your store whilst i was doing a hunt. I never found the hunt item, though!
  24. @ Cinnamon. Re sandals, etc -- i really like the espadrilles from GOS. GOS are always good quality and i found the espies fit perfectly (btw, me and my alt are no skinny minnies) plus you don't need to fiddle around with skin colour plus you can easily add on different colours for the espadrilles, etc. Easily found in-world or on Marketplace. @ Mayalily Yes, Larry jeans are affordable and they look pretty good. I second you. :-) Edited to add: Hudsons is a good store. Lots of, hmmm, flouncy, gypsy, almost fancy dress (ish) outfits, but very attractive. Me like!
