  1. Singularity has had that for donkey's years, along with double-click teleporting on terrain, water and all other prim/mesh/sculpted surfaces too. Theres a "Enable Wind Effects" wind setting in Singularity as well, along with clouds too.... but not the particle ones I described previously. The sun can be set to any time of day with one click as it still retains the original Windlight slider, unlike EEP I find building objects in Singularity to be the best experience too, prim measurements and angles to the last decimal place don't erratically wobble around like they do in Firestorm.
  2. There's still wind noises when free-flying around the sky without an aircraft. Hold PgUp to fly to hear it. Clouds once existed in SL too and not just around lagged avatars, but cloud particles were actually part of the sky in the past and found at altitudes of 150-ish metres, or so. One could previously walk up mountain sides into dense clouds from below then up and out through back into clear skies. I miss the clouds. They were great and could be used as free "fog" when buildings or whole towns were placed up into these altitudes, so making a Victorian style foggy London roleplay sim for example could be done quite easily without adding in any extra particle emitters. Back to wind. I would love to see (?!) a form of comprehensive, standardised wind, thermal, air pressure and gravity system added to all of SL's skies sometime in the future, so that anyone attached to or wearing a basic aerofoil-shaped prim could experience "real flying", using actual wind, air currents and thermals to affect (and be affected by) "real" aircraft wings. Working kites, gliders, balloons, propeller and jet engine equipped aircraft could then behave far more realistically than at present. Turning off a plane engine in flight right now is very unrealistic, the plane merely stops and becomes static in the sky, doesn't fall and there's no danger - unless you open the door and jump out! Extreme high altitudes could also be simulated to have low or non-existant air pressures, perhaps reusing SL's old Badlands health meter system which used to teleport you home after a 0% health "death". And perhaps zero gravity at extreme high altitudes too? Working space rockets could be built... although SL's ceiling is currently limited to a usable altitude of only 4096m. A video game such as Squad's "Kerbal Space Program" has a very good (but not perfect) atmosphere and gravity simulator modelled into it and should be a blueprint of how to create a similar SL system too.
  3. The six new Fantasseria regions (SSPE2766 to SSPE2771) have appeared on the world map.
  4. There are some subtle and not-so subtle alien related elements within the Log regions of Belliserria, if you know specifically where to find them.... 👽
  5. Philip Rosedale's actual creation and tenure of Linden World/Second Life are unquestionably, unarguably it's best and highest points.
  6. Oh dear. Someone ought to tell LL that the correct lyrics for the Fourth Day of Christmas are "four colly birds", not "four calling birds". Colly is an old English adjective used to describe something covered in coal dust, or the colour of coal. In the context of the original 1780 song lyrics, which originated in England, the "four colly birds" are either blackbirds, crows or ravens. These colly birds, along with the partridge (plucked from it's pear tree), the doves, hens, geese, and swans of the song were often cooked and eaten as part of traditional Christmas season dinners in England up until Epiphany on 6th January, known also as Twelfth Night; the Twelfth Day of the song and song title. There are (or were) also colly dogs, although the spelling has changed over time to the present collie. These breeds of colly dogs exclusively had dark coats. But cross-breeding over generations and centuries has drastically altered their appearance and physicality, to the point that many breeds of modern collie dogs have lost some or all traces of a uniformly dark coat. No turkeys in the song either. Which is a good thing. Bleh.
  7. Update! Moles have been very busy and have already terraformed the six new regions, even laying down their purple "Mole Art" house parcel markers and some pathways too. ^ The bottom half of the six regions, viewed from offshore to the east. I had my draw distance at maximum! ^ And the top half of the six, also viewed offshore from the east, up to Porcini region. SSPE2770 has a small island, around which there is 20m deep water and a rolling sand dune-like bottom in which there's ample room to possibly put in some underwater decorative things later....
  8. Monday 22nd November 2021 (16:55 GMT) Six new SSPE regions (SSPE2766 to SSPE2771) have just been added to the east side of Fantasseria, but are not yet visible on the world map and cannot directly be teleported into yet. To have a peek, walk in from a neighbouring region, such as SSPE2765 to the west of 2766, or from Porcini to the west of 2771. The new regions are completely flat, unterraformed and have no water in them. Yet. A further twelve coastal region sims are now needed to form a complete coastal ring around Fantasseria.
  9. Hello. The official alternative SL grid, known as "Second Life Beta", also known as "Aditi", still exists and will allow you to upload for "free" there. You can access "Aditi" through the normal log-in screen of a viewer, providing that your viewer preferences are preset to display grids other than the usual SL one.
  10. The next Linden Homes theme will undoubtably have yet another America-centric theme, as per usual, ignoring the 96% of humanity who live elsewhere. Or a theme based on an American's stereotypical perception of somewhere else in the real world ("the other 96%"), which will probably look wrong and unintentionally weird-looking, disappointing or possibly offensive to those people who actually live in the real place. 😜
  11. What? My Avatar Complexity is not an issue!
  12. ... at the expense of those living on the mainland, who they seek to purposely influence (through their mainland embassies) into leaving mainland life with all its freedoms and creativity. I find their motives to be quite creepy, what they're doing might be likened to "mainland cleansing" by stealth, which with time will have a negative impact on the mainland. I have absolutely no desire to become a mere statistic and a convienient wallet for LL, to be packaged within a cookie-cutter sprawl of residential container boxes, with all their rules, restrictions and uninventiveness, all dressed in an embarrasingly America-centric veneer that resembles a Stepford Wives style gated community of obedience and compliance. I would never willingly choose to live there, ever. But Bellisseria has had one benefit which I do enjoy; Belliserria has become a convienient land bridge between formerly distant and separated mainland continents, for which I'm happy to use.
  13. I would never recommend SL to another family member and I selfishly guard my virtual time and space from them. Not a single relative of mine even knows I've been using SL for over 13 years, as I've never mentioned or shown it to them! I don't want them in "my" thing. Having my family members inworld at the same time as me would be awkward and embarrassing. I would compare it to a common British-style scenario which happens annually on 25th December in most British homes, spending Christmas Day shut in at home with an entire family present (with long-lost uncles, aunties, cousins, grand-parents, their pets etc..,) in an uncomfortably warm, stuffy and over-crammed house, with relatives who have an ample supply of intra-family baggage, awkwardness, rivalry, tension and Christmas booze... Absolute hell. Ugh, no way.
  14. Have you tried an alternative viewer, or updating your current one? Perhaps a clean reinstall of your viewer might fix your problem? Is your computer's operating system still currently supported and up to date? If you use wifi, have you tried plugging in an ethernet cable directly instead? I don't wish to alarm you, but your symptoms, which could be coincidental, sound exactly like a problem I had back in the summer of 2019, when my trusty old Windows XP based PC (which I had refused to let go of!) was finally made obsolete by changes to Second Life. The only solution I found to my own SL problem was rather drastic, I was forced to finally retire my XP based PC and switched to a new W10 based one instead. I hope you're not experiencing what I had. Your problem may be as simple as having a poor internet connection, or a broken viewer which can be reinstalled.
  15. Why does everyone spell Abnor's name wrongly? Do you not see that the name is clearly a two-part pun of Abnor and Mole = Abnormal.
  16. Coincidental name mixup I think.
  17. @Dyna Mole Sorry, but what has Horizons have to do with an amusingly named Mole advisory marker found stuck in the turf at Fantasseria?
  18. There's also a double-click "instant teleport to" feature in most viewer settings too, which is usually turned off as default. This feature works locally and also on both the minimap and world map too. Very useful for freeing yourself from spots where you've accidently becoming trapped, such as falling off sim corners. And when combined with some camming, for accessing somewhere locally quickly without the need for any walking, running, jumping or flying to it.
  19. There used to be a dumbed down basic viewer around 10-ish years ago which was specifically made for newbies and lacked some everyday features that were common to mainstream viewers. My memory of it now is cloudy, but I think it might have been an alternative offered by either LL or Phoenix/Firestorm if I'm not mistaken. Anyone else remember it?
  20. No "Mole Watch" from SSPE2759 today, as it and neighbouring regions are unchanged and presently Mole-less. Weekends off maybe? All those advisory cones I previously mentioned have now vanished. Either the issues they highlighted were all corrected, or a rich crop of advisory cones have been harvested for some kind of plywoody-tasting Mole-ish autumn feast. Sadly this also means I'll never get to learn who or what "Fluffy" is or was. One little amusing nugget I've learnt today, some of the plantlife around Fantaserria seems to be named, as I've just met "Jorge Bush"...!
  21. "...for your wallet"?! 😜
  22. Was it replaced with "Our world, your wallet" instead?! 😜
  23. We are talking about a digital world whose tallest mountain (in Campion) has never had a single flake of snow on it, while shorter mountains down south near the equator are covered in the stuff.... (!)
  24. Fantasseria, Friday 19th November 2021
  25. Meh, that's nothing. I've edited my Windows 10 to look and behave exactly like Windows XP! It even has the XP sounds and Start Button window too! I can toggle all this on/off quite easily too.
