    This! As long as residents are complying with the covenant, then judicious use of the de-render function should suffice if a neighbor's style is not to your taste. Trying to force others to one's own style is the opposite of "open, friendly community". The fact that the moles have given us the option to paint our houses purple should prove we are allowed to show some personal flair.

    It's kind of fun to look at, really, because I had totally forgotten about some of my travels. It's like a little scrapbook of annoying things I have seen.

    In Firestorm, you can find the Asset Blacklist under World, and can remove items from it. I just looked at mine, and see that almost all of my list is old and from regions I no longer hang out in. I need to clean that out sometime!

    The house controller is not the same as the control panel (though they do sound similar). Patch was talking about the mailbox (or the equivalent on the houseboats) that lets you select which house you want. The control panel is the one inside the house, that lets you set access and change the wall colors, etc.

    This has happened to others of us since they updated the control panels the other day. I forget now which thread we were discussing it in (could even be this one for all I know), but for me, the solution was to keep trying to set it until it suddenly started working. It's like it just needed to be kicked a few times to wake up after its update.

    Kaylee is correct. The system will put a dot between first and last names. "If you created your Second Life account before mid-2010, you have a Second Life "first name" and "last name" that determine your username as follows: firstname.lastname. For example, if your Second Life name was originally Joe Smith when you joined, your username is joe.smith."

    Back to the topic of the new security system: I tried out the new orb today, just to see how it works. It's very easy to set up! It would be better if it was lower LI, but otherwise, it's quite good.

    Maybe someone just wants to use their Linden home, which they are entitled to as a Premium member, as a dressing room and that is ALL. How is that hurting anyone else? I'd rather see a sparsely decorated or empty home than some of the stuff I've seen at "decorated" homes on the new continent (ugly big walls, neon dance poles, etc.). *shrug*

    Oddly, that exact thing happened to me last night (right after LL closed for the weekend, of course). I was on my own to try to sort it out, so my alt and I just kept resetting and clicking, re-rezzed houseboat, reset and clicked some more, and suddenly BAM! All started working again. Very odd! lol

    That reminds of another point... some people (like me) have been paying for more than one premium account for many years. So I don't really feel obligated to give up my houseboat to someone who has just now decided to support SL with a premium account because of this new promotion.

    That's very similar to the one I have, except I'm farther north and have a lighthouse nearby instead of Dogbone. I was surprised not only to get a boathouse, but that it was a good one. Weird that people are giving up such nice ones!
