That houseboat is very close to mine. I love that they have a 24/7 party boat going on!

And I bet people will complain about that now, too.

As far as I know, most moles are not Lindens (but instead work as contractors), and from my experience talking with one in the past, I believe they do operate under the same building rules as everyone else when it comes to things like mesh, LI, etc. Sure, they can rez stuff where we can't, and edit things we cannot, but that's just a matter of land perms they are given. My assumption is that the box is 5 LI simply because of the various buttons attached to it. I would think that if the moles did have magical powers that allowed them to set any LI they wanted to anything they wanted, surely they would not have left the security panel at 5 LI.

The thing is that no matter how it's done, there will be complaining. Patch could hand deliver a new home personally on a silver platter to each and every premium member and to all of their alts as well, and someone would still post about how it's not fair that so-and-so got a corner parcel and they did not. Or about how the first 100 houseboats were nicer than the third 100.... and on and on!

Haha! I just got the notice in my email! Thank you!

Rezzing a new copy of the home did not work for me, but clearing and resetting the list in the House Controller a few times did the trick. This all happened right after the controllers were updated, so hopefully it was just a limited issue that has since resolved. (And I'm happy to confirm that rezzing a new copy of the same model of home did not wipe out the previous settings.)

I haz a sad because my Linden home did not come with a hoe.

I keep seeing bitter complaints about how there was this teeny tiny window of opportunity and only people who have no lives and were sitting here staring at the forums got homes. It's simply not true. I was at work all day (US time) the day of the release. I had NOT been monitoring any threads and had NO idea the homes were being released that day. I read a blog notice about it that night, easily got a new home, abandoned it, got another one on a beach.... and over a week later, got a houseboat simply by refreshing the new home page a few times per day. In other words, I did no hovering, but also I did not waste my time whining because I knew I'd get a houseboat eventually. As will everyone else who wants one.

Why in the world should they have waited? Why not release in batches? Is it seriously better for NO ONE to get a home now, than to have some get one now, some others in a week or two, and so on? This makes zero sense to me.
