  1. This is totally typical of some sort of connection issue. Reboot your router and modem. Verify your connection speeds. Go here: https://www.bandwidthplace.com/ -- click the 3 lines next to 'Auto Select Server' and choose San Jose CA (that is a common LL connection location). Let us know the Download, Upload and especially Ping values that are returned. If you can get logged in, immediately hit Help / About -- copy that info and paste it here. If you can get logged in, hit Ctrl+Shift+1 to get the stats window up. Near the top, you should see Packet Loss and Ping Sim -- make a note of both values and post them here. If you cannot log in, try a different sim -- try Pooley. If you still cannot log in, bring up the viewer but don't try to log in. Click Help / About - copy everything and paste it here.
  2. Slight derail: I've experienced this more times than I can count. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this happens. I have the auto-hide package and have created auto-hide prims to go with some of my outfits. I have never had a problem with the alpha getting reset when I remove those prims. Thus I cannot figure out why clothes with, I assume, the same freakin script doesn't reset correctly when the clothing is removed. Yes, that is a pet peeve of mine.
  3. Is your problem the EXACT same one as the OP? i.e. log in stops at "loading world" If not, you should probably start a new thread. When you say you "have done everything", please provide a detailed list of everything that you did. And are you saying that you and 15 of your friends have all not been able to log in to SL at all since 10/20/2018?
  4. I just never saw a reason to keep my Maitreya HUD attached once I finished dressing for the day. The only time I might need it before changing clothes again is if I need to try on a demo of something. No real need to carry the batch of textures and scripts around with me all the time.

  6. Peter, Peter pumpkin eater, Had a wife but couldn't keep her; He put her in a pumpkin shell And there he kept her very well. Peter, Peter pumpkin eater, Had another and didn't love her; Peter learned to read and spell, And then he loved her very well.
  7. I popped over to A&E. They do have body appliers specific to Maitreya that come in tones EA, EB, EC, and ED -- right side after you pass through the entry area. They also have body appliers for Maitreya in tones T0, TA, TB, TC, TD, TE - left side after you pass through the entry area. If your classic skin is one of those tones, then you'll have a matching applier. If not, then you have two choices: Find a new classic skin w/ associated applier or pick the A&E tone that is closest to what you have and always wear a choker (not a great option).
  8. There was a change in skins some years back - I'm not sure exactly what the change was. However, 7 Deadly s{K}ins changed all their tones at that time and subsequently only made appliers to match the later tones, not the earlier ones (if memory serves correctly here). The skin I was wearing before I returned as from someone that is no longer in SL, so I had no choice but to go shopping. Even if A&E has their own body, they may still make skin appliers for other bodies, probably an Omega one. If they do, and if your current skin tone is still one that they carry, then they may have the applier you need.
  9. Early in Spring 2017, I came back to SL after roughly 8 years of inactivity and had to learn all about mesh bodies and appliers. It does seem a bit overwhelming and quite frustrating at first -- well, for quite a while actually. But the more you play with it, the more comfortable you get.
  10. Basically, the appliers work one of two ways. 1) They either say that they are Maitreya appliers and then they will apply directly to Lara with nothing extra. 2) Or they are Omega and in that case you have to go to the Omega store and buy the Omega relay -- something like L$50 if you join their group or double that if you don't. Some Omega relays only have to be worn and activated once, but the Maitreya Lara one has to actually be attached every time you use it. That same Omega applier will work with any other type of Omega body appliers - like for tattoos or special skin effects. You buy an applier for the body in the same 'tone' as the classic skin that will show on your head.
  11. 7 Deadly s{K}ins still has their classic skins upstairs and they blend well with the Lara body applier under most lighting - assuming you can find a shade that you like. You can get a demo of all the applier shades and see if you like any. That is what I'm currently using. I sometimes wear chokers though because under some lighting, the seam is visible. Other places that I've gotten classic skins from, but am not currently using (some blend better than others and it also depends on your shade preference): LAQ, Modish, Stix, Dulce Secrets, WoW, Genesis Lab. I feel your pain. I haven't gone to a mesh head yet - just not ready - and I hate skin shopping.
  12. Well, in an unusual defense of Phorumities, she was simply responding to a statement made by another. Most people that complain about Phorumities' responding to off-topic statements (i.e. abducting threads) will themselves do so at times. The biggest difference is that Phorumities usually derails for politically related topics, which many of us prefer to avoid discussing here. Thus the better request would have been "please don't bring politics into things again".
  13. Likely because the "partner" demanded requested it and it keeps them in his bed.
  14. Oh ffs. It was a typo. Damn - I had considered moving there just for that reason.
  15. It is early morning and I'm still on my first cup of coffee. Thus I was down to the last occurrence of the phrase before I finally read it correctly. Prior to that, I was having a rough time trying to figure out what 2-buttonholes-from-nobody was referring to.
  16. We can only guess. Your account should be old enough and you show Payment Info. Check your Adult settings, as Cindy mentioned. You may need to open a Support ticket and ask LL: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
  17. When I meet someone, I will typically go with whatever version of their name is used during the introduction - by them or another - unless they tell me differently (or if they are a good friend and I'm just messing with them). Many Americans tend to try and get too casual with people a bit too soon (some would say it is one of our failings), but I think that is also why many folks immediately shorten names to something that doesn't seem as formal.
  18. Here is a blog that contains everything we know to date about the return of Last Names and the ability to change your username. It is updated whenever we get new official statements, so you can keep an eye on it for new news: https://ryanschultz.com/2018/03/22/more-details-on-the-upcoming-ability-to-change-your-user-name-in-second-life/
  19. At least they gave you some money for all that pretending.
  20. The EXACT response you were given is below. Where were you told it was "wrong" and exactly which part are you seeing as "smack down"? You made a suggestion and the response offered ways to find out more things related to your request and how to officially make said request and also offered a thread that gives indication of LL trying to make the MP better for all. Too many people come to the forums expecting everyone to fall over themselves giving praise and agreement with posts. They then assume (wrongly, I might add), that they are simply being picked on because they didn't get the response they wanted.
  21. The longer versions - or more formal versions - of many names just seem so stuffy, thus many of us abbreviate to try making the conversation more casual. Yep, I vote for Pammy
