  1. I wanted to make a suggestion to the destination guide, but once I hit submit, it says: Access Denied - you do not have permission to access on this server. Has anyone else have that problem?
  2. I really think LL should bring back viewer Tags. The original viewer Tags weren't a security breach in my opinion as that was the official response for taking them down. They enabled us to help the true newcomers to SL as we knew what viewer they were on and it enabled is to help them learn how to do anything they wanted in thier viewer...it was that one viewer that seemed to ruin it. I forgot the name of it but when two people on that same veiwer saw each other it showed what windows you were using...that was the security breach. In my opinion that viewer should have just been told to limit that to just viewer like every other viewer. If this does not belong in this section please move to where it actually goes
  3. During the Governance meeting today, it was asked if it was possible to set up the MP stores with different categories. For example, if you already make clothing but want to branch out and create furniture as well. At present, if you decide to do that but want to keep them sort of separate, you usually create an alt to have one store, while the main has the original store. Is there a way to do it where you don't have to have two different stores or is this something that could possibly be in the future? The ability to catagorize or create departments/separate sections would not only be benifical for creators but would be more user friendly for the customer as well. This way, a customer clicks on the "department" they want, especially if they are unsure of the name or just want to see what you have in that section of your "store".
  4. Hello! For many, many years I am to today still enjoying the many interesting things Second Life can bring us. One of which is travelling through the many places that allow you to travel with vehicles. Driving, flying, sailing, swimming, surfing, cycling... you name it, you possibly have done it as well! In the beginning, vehicles were rather limited to capabilities, throughout the years a lot has changed, textured vehicles became sculpted, sculpted vehicles evaluated to mesh-made content. Not only did the way of vehicles and how they were/are made change, as well as what they can do. From simplistic WASD/Arrow key control to complex simulative controls. But... Something is missing! I'm sure that I can't be the only one whom may agree or disagree with how some things still are in the current state of Second Life, yet right now I'm talking about Mouselook camera. Or in gamer-talk, the first person perspective. With in greater detailing, the positioning of this. How come this never was an adjustable feature? For many years I tried to figure out why the mouselook camera is always off-set to the left eye, and ''mounted'' on the forehead as if it is a ''Go-Pro'' camera. I've had this discussion with several friends whom I've travelled SL with for many times, but no-one really had an idea. We tried to see if this could be affected with scripts but no luck on that font. Thus here is the boiling question: Can we have the ability to adjust the mouselook camera position, rotation and be able to alter this? With this in mind I've personally already had made a little list of ideas of how and where this may be able to be set. Since avatars have their own shapes and complex style of bone-structure. My suggestion was to implement this feature under the shape-edit configuration. With the idea behind it that people whom create, say, animal avatars or avatars that have a different camera position than a say 'humanoid' avatar, they could create custom mouselook-camera positions bound to that shape. Benefits of this summed up: Ability to customize mouselook-camera to shape Allowing content creators to fix complex shapes for non-humanoid shapes Allowing camera position to change to desired location. (for those that love driving in mouselook, but just can't see those indicator lights ;P) Giving more personalization to your own experiences. Possibility to grow and allow more research in to VR*. * - As VR is an uncertain 'road' whilst I'm writing this, I do not know where or how far the technology goes within Second Life to the ability of VR. Please keep in mind that this may or may-not be WIP. To round it up. With this idea, that I've been wandering around SL for, I've been eager to hear everyone's opinions about. Suggestions to this or perhaps people like to add anything to it. Maybe i missed something or if you've been wanting the same. Please don't hesitate to comment. To the Lindens. I am not that much of a tech-person, so knowing that this may or may not be very complex to implement in to Second Life is beyond me. Of course I would love to be able to get a reply. As I think this would make things a lot easier, create paths for future ideas and allow residents/creators to come up with steps further from this. Kind regards, Saga Virtanen, (Combine Clary)
  5. I want to start off by saying, as a very long time Premium member, this was definitely a much needed & long over-due upgrade. The new houses are great & the fact you can change the house on that same lot without moving is even greater. I am already really loving my new Linden Home. That being said, there is something I would like to address/suggest. Although there are many interior wall options, they're all light & bright, mostly all bright pastels (even the brown is a "bright" brown). It would be awesome if there were also the same options of darker/duller interior walls available.
  6. hello, i am new to the community forums so forgive me if this has been stated before (i searched beforehand to no avail but i may be missing something) and also if this is incorrect placement please feel free to move this thread! i've been a member of secondlife for over 10 years and had a few different accounts, with the changes and whatnot happening i decided now would be a good time to come back. one of the main issues i've had for awhile now with secondlife is the fact that you cannot change your username. i know im not the only one who thinks this, i was recently talking to my girlfriend about it too. it forces people to commit to old usernames because most of the items which have real money spent on them are non transferable. this is especially a problem for people who realize theyd now rather be anonymous, or (if you'll bear with my social justice-ness) for people who transitioned gender and no longer want a name associated with their old one. or just for people who no longer feel connected to it for whatever reason. so im not looking for an answer to a question as much as im looking for a response/action taken from the linden team. my recommendation is that you put a time limit on it, deviantart recently did this so that you can only change your username once every 6 months. this would prevent people changing their identity too rapidly, you could also have old usernames push through to new ones to prevent confusion in those looking for old members (and prevent impersonation in some cases), again something which deviantart did. username changes are considered a basic feature offered by most modern game and social media interfaces and would be in linden labs best interest business-wise. please let us change our usernames! i know it would be a lot of work but some of us would gladly pay money for it. thank you!
  7. I'm not sure if it's been suggested before, but if it has, it just concretes the fact that we need our marketplace to be tailored to our shopping trends, please! As I'm scrolling through Marketplace, I love to see new items, but what I really miss and want is a suggestion roll-- something that knows what type of fashion I'm into at the moment or what type of products I like to purchase the latest versions of. Is there a way that this sort of application can be implemented into the marketplace? Something that looks at the tags of your recent purchases, or sellers you buy from constantly! The Marketplace, imo, is due for a facelift in the meantime anyway.
  8. I've been in Second Life a long time now, and worked various clubs. If I had one suggestion to all of you posting jobs here, it's this: Put the shifts you're looking for in your post! I normally get jobs more by word of mouth than here mainly because digging through each listing only to discover your club is dead during the hours I can work is so pointless. Even some of the better postings here have the same failing, saying they need DJs but not when they need them.
  9. Just thought about this yesterday, why don't we have a separate "locker" inventory that doesn't get loaded up or indexed when we login? (which creates login delay, and inventory loading delay if you got many stuff in your inventory) so people don't have to "clean up" their inventory to reduce the lag, and possibly lose some important items (like one of my friends did) I mean we can kinda do that by backing up things inside objects / prims, but that takes away prims and is kinda an inefficient workaround I guess. What do you guys think?
  10. I think it would be useful for everyone and mainland land owners if there are map legends (icons) for upcoming / ongoing events that are posted on the events page. So when someone opens the world map, they can enable events legends and see which place has an upcoming / ongoing event. I'd say that would make more people use and utilize the events page, and boost the appeal of mainland even more too What do you guys think?
  11. I've been wondering for like 3 years now, why SL does not have a proper search function. What I mean by that, Is a search that will bring up a list of every public sim that exists. Instead, we have to know key words to find the sims as it is now. So, for example, I don't have a specific keyword in mind, how do I find new places? I don't. I've tried the " What's hot now" section and I've gotta say it, that section is a stagnant pond. It never changes. It's always some 80s DJ club, skill gaming gamble sim, or a nude beach. I just wish there was a way to see every sim in SL, in one big list, without having to know the keywords to find them. I feel trapped, stuck in the same cycle of sims that I know, because there's no way to search for new ones. And yeah, I've seen people suggest going to "events" because those are active, but to me, it's just like the " What's Hot Now" DJ club events, but in temporary form. And temporary gathering spots are disheartening, cause they move around or they only become active at a designated meeting time. Can't just save a landmark and go back at any time, like infohubs. Infohubs use to be a good spot to see activity 24-7 (Judge the quality of the activity yourselves) but I liked them. They seem less common, less active now days though. It would be nice if as soon as you open "Places" a list showed up. Without having to search for anything.
  12. Hello, I have a marketplace suggestion. What if marketplace create a news feed example like facebook, so you follow your favorite creators and at the top of the MP home page, it will show there newest creations of your favorite stores you are currently following. It will save people like myself 50x more time then spending ages finding my favorite creators, then filtering to the newest items etc. You will gain more money as well! as you will find a lot more people will buy new products! Please make something like this or else make a favorite creators section, as you have no idea how many fantastic creators I find, and then I have to favorite there products then search in my favorites tab go through 20 pages just to find a creator who made a product. It becomes annoying after a while, I then have to favorite them in my browser bookmarkets or write a notecard, why should i do this when the MP should have something like this already, and maybe they do? but I don't know about it? Thanks, Glen
  13. What if we have the option to include a chat-embedded screenshot of what we're currently viewing when offering someone a teleport with a click of a button, to entice the person we're offering a teleport to by showing him what's going on? I think it would be a nice feature to have, and it could cost like 5 or 10L to include a screenshot, so that would also be a good Linden sink if it turns out to be popular and a lot of people use it, just a thought.
