It's not invasion of privacy is a computer does it; if a curse word or inappropriate word is used, Linden Lab will auto be notified. Why not? Sounds like a simple system. SL is a 99.9% adult platform not a babysitting service. Sex is IMO the #1 revenue stream that keeps LL on their feet. Why on earth would any parent want their child to have access to such a platform in the first place????
  2. Gemini Seriman wrote: It is not the C650 as you stated also not worth $350 as its £500 in england so worth aprox $750 over where you are . I asked for help not to be insulted , if you read the post you would see if has a high speek graphics card inside of it . I have to concur with Drake regarding your lap top. And I have no idea how he was in any way shape or form, insulting you.
  3. Am unsure of others, but for me in sl, time has no meaning. My avatar is ageless.

  6. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/Graphics-card-problem-intel-3k-complaints-by-second-life/qaq-p/1572445/comment-id/24054 If you look at the minimum requirements page, perhaps you can determine if this is the issue or not. Meanwhile, the link is a random search that I did for running sl using laptop with an intel graphics.
  7. see here: https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/ for second life system requirements. SL is not intended to be run on a lap top but having said that, if you have the graphics card etc., you can do so. One of the things occurring is as viewers are updated, the systems required to run it need to be better and better. I do think the problem though, is your onboard vid card. I don't believe it is powerful enough for the intense graphics. I'm sure you'll get more replies here, there are many in this forum that are very savy to systems that are able to run sl. Hope you find the answer
  8. ...scuse me please...I have no dog in this fight, however - what is the difference between a face light and a lantern when it comes to lighting up an area? I would think that if the issue is adding an unwanted light source, neither would be desireable.
  9. Yes...because OP said and I quote '4 legs'. And yes, I am familiar with crawling - we would call it crab walking - on our hands and feet. Not 4 legs. And this is sl, where an avatar with 4 legs is highly possible. I make animations and was curious if there perhaps is such an avatar.
  10. ok ... are you looking for an animation for an avatar that has 4 legs?
  11. I am looking for an experienced Terraformer/Landsacper/Sim Builder to help with my sim. Please IM me in world to meet for an interview. Please, only those with experience need contact me. Thanks :)
  12. ah ok thank you! edited to add - or substitue the OP's with either yes? tia Am just a tad past Hello Avatar in scripting but love to learn.
  13. OK so to put the script together, I would just add your part Innula?

  15. This is awesome thanks! Will replace my suggestion box at my store. Wonderful
  16. ...your name, it is difficult to determine if you are male or female.
  17. ....k now that was hilarious! I can feel your face blushing from here. I will now pass you the tard hat since this most def tops anything I've done lol.
  18. I still use the J&M box which is easy & simple to use. It gives you a list of what items are stored which is all I need to keep my inventory organized. The others that I have investigated, always seem to create even more work so I've stuck to the scripted box for certain items. I've heard that the wardrobe, for making outfits is quite good. Again, however, I think it's just more work so I've not bothered with it. I also keep a lot of my full perm stuff with one of my alts. It is much easier to store with her than to box up some items that I use often - such as textures etc. I think inventory organization is a personal thing & depends entirely on what you do in sl etc.
  19. Faye Feldragonne wrote: Please detach your facelight if you wear one. Adjust your windlighting/environmental lighting if you have to stare at yourself. They are not necessary, and annoying for others. Face lights are only for you to stare at yourself, and everyone knows that, so they don't benefit anyone else because everyone has different graphic settings.Let's end face light pollution in SL. I just reread your post. Are you inferring that face light wearers are vain? And how do you come that conclusion - that face light wearers do so to only 'stare at themselves'? I see the photo of your avatar - do you not consider your avatar as being attractive? Do you buy skins, hair, clothes and shoes merely because you need to do so in sl to um survive? I don't think so. I think you want to look as attractive as you can. So setting aside the facelights etc....I think the pot here is calling the kettle black. Facelights like an AO are nothing more than personal preference. I use a facelight in sl because I am often taking photos. If I go to a sim to explore and someone lands with their facelight on maximum, yes it's annoying so derender whatever. And although it may be annoying, my dictating my standards on another's sl experience would be, IMO, more than annoying - it is totally unacceptable. To me, this is something I come to sl to get away from, others trying to dictate to me how I should lead my life. That and deadlines (another story entirely) The beauty of sl is that we can derender someone who is encroaching on our space. I only wish we could do this in rl
  20. hmmm well I have to say that I like my facelight. I think the problem is not having them it's learning how to use them properly. No need to crank them up to the point of being able to land a plane. Facelights are like bling and glow - they have their uses, usually in very small doses and IMO there is always a time and/or a place. Is a personal choice & not everyone's taste of course.
  21. Hello Pamela - No I've not seen a viewer do that yet. It looks almost as if your HUD's on your desktop have also been selected? Am not familiar with Mac so can only relay my experience using Windows. On my laptop, I often have 2 different viewers running - Phoenix (I still prefer to build with) & Firestorm which I am slowly becoming familiar with. It is my understanding that having 2 viewers or even 3 open should not result in any conflicts. I still prefer Phoenix for building but am slowly coming to terms with Firestorm and I think a few more months & I will be much more comfortable building with it.
  22. It isn't possible that I am aware of. The root prim of a linkset usually contains the scripts - however, it doesn't have to be so. I think perhaps the prim that the scripts are in may be transparent? Ctrl Alt T & see if perhaps there is such a prim. And yes, if object is mod/copy then you are following the creators wishes.
  23. Yes, many of the viewers are sold no copy so vendors will not redeliver. This is understandable since it's impossible for them to determine whether the customer actually did decline or is just wanting a two-fer. As in most things, it's the dishonest element that ruins things for the honest. Also, I would go to the store in world and try out the media viewer.
